Take him off our hands please,he might have been a good player but he's a shit manager employing anti football tactics like Westley did at Stevenage.
Your top 6 how can you complain. If we don't sack our manager then 150 years of league football will be gone and people who will have been watching vale for a good number of years will be upset.

I've just had a look at the League 2 table and 18 of the 24 clubs in it have spent some time in non league.........

And now it's your turn.

GTFCfish:

I would have thought every team in League two bar Notts County has spent time outside of the football league since it started but I know what you meant and it is an amazing fact that proves the pyramid is working.

We've had our turn. Between 1907-19 we were non-league, and only got back in because Leeds City were disbanded because of financial irregularities.

Has anybody got a rough idea how much Barnet paid for Tarpey? I know you Bees aren't as savvy to transfer details as the Luton fans are, but I thought there's no harm in asking.

Speaking of Luton, I'm getting a tad worried due to the lack of info from Kenny re. their financial situation. I would sleep better at night if I'm assured his lot are still in the black.

It might well have broken our record transfer fee of £130k (set in 1997!), but no one really knows.

I've googled up some info on who the player in question was (Greg Heald), but I only have a vague recollection of him, and that's only because he used to play for our lovely neighbours from up the road. Quite a decent sum you paid there for a CH, and 130k sure was a lot of money back in 1997.

According to what a random Eastleigh fan told me. You paid 200 grand for Akinde even though he was out of contract.
If an Eastleigh fan said it then it must be true. But they bought Sam Muggleton and Martin Allen from us for at least double that (allegedly )

I suspect Tarpey was £100-150k but it's really just guessing

We'd made a lot of money from selling Linvoy Primus, Maik Taylor and Lee Hodges that year, so we could afford the outlay. We got full value from Greg as he was with us until 2003.

We probably still had some of the Dougie Freedman money as well

Sorry I thought it was just Luton fans knowing what their transfer fees were?

Glad Im not the only one losing sleep. Hopefully he can come back on today to give us the break down of their transfer dealings again. I'll feel a bit better then.

Akinola deal has still not gone through with a final review of paperwork taking place tomorrow.

Someone's ballsed up on one or both sides here. Shouldn't be taking this long.

To be honest we need him off our wage bill so it won't be great for either party really. He's not on small wages (relative for a club our size) here.

Josh Docherty signs for Crawley. Heh. Casey

I just saw this and I cannot say I've ever heard of him. A full season at Leyton Orient without playing a game as his team got relegated from the football league doesn't fill me with optimism but we are short of a left back.

By the way. Is it Doherty or Docherty?

Akinola deal has been rejected by the EFL so he remains a Barnet player, what an absolute balls up

The EFL won't ratify the Akinola deal.

I'm half guessing it's down the lateness of the Tarpey deal and subsequently how late the Akinola deal went in. You'd hope if it was only down to a minute or so, then it'd be allowed to go through unless there was an error in the paperwork at one/both ends.

Into the short term, free market we go for a striker!

It does leave us a bit light up front but we do have some flexibility with Knott and Ginnelly who can both do a job, I imagine the latter will act as cover for Green. We must be running with one of the smallest squads in the league? We did pretty well with injuries last season so let's hope that continues.

If Stewart signs he'll be our 20th signing of the summer. Good to see we're sticking with our quality over quantity plan.
