I was delighted when we signed Keshi last January on loan as I thought he would guarantee goals and be the fox in the box type. He scored a hat trick on his home debut for us in exactly that fashion and then never scored again. His build up play was really poor because his first touch was terrible and would then take ages to get the ball under control. He needs to play on the shoulder and use his pace but he never even really looked like scoring for us. Only thing is this all happened during the JED reign so he is probably amazing and just didnt suit the way we weer playing, although he didnt really deliver for Bolton either.
Cheers was just going ask for some thoughts in the League 1 thread.

Hopefully he'll fit in here.

I don't think even Grimsby have a 38 year-old.

Apparently he has other options, one of them's bound to be Notts County.

Honestly right now I'd take him as he is better than every other option we have there whenever Parkes or Ellis gets suspended/injured. Got a fair few appearances for Rangers last season.

Radio Joke reporting that we rejected bids from five clubs for George Cooper yesterday as they were well short of his valuation. Believe two of the clubs were Peterborough and Barnsley but no idea who the other three were.

Good to see we showed a backbone and stood firm not letting a lad who could be a key asset for us go on the cheap. If we can offer him improved terms and extend his contract by a year, he'll net us big money next Summer...

No keeper signed so we're stuck with Scott Brown's fuck ups :ffs: If Ainsworth thinks Brown is the best we can get i politely suggest he fucks off as he's lost the plot,a hard season ahead me thinks.
Ok we will have ainsworth of you and you can have Michael Brown 6 wins in 30 games of us.

We don't really need a center back so doubt it's us!

Too old too slow. Never had pace in his 20s let alone 40s. Will do a job against the lesser sides.

He's 38 years old even older than our oldest player (34)

5 years ago yeah, but now? Not a fucking chance.

Nice wind up.

Loads of Rangers fans on social media are saying they wish he had not been let go after he played 30 games for them last season and they think he will do a great job for us at this level if he signs.

You can't have Coulson back. I shan't allow it.
If I'm honest, I don't think we'll get him back. Much as I'd have him back in a shake, his new contract was the decent thing to do and reward for his service over the years and his loan to you was probably a gentle way for the manager to ease him out of the door.

I'm sure we'll come to an arrangement in January if not before.

I hope we don't sign Clint Hill, our defence is already one of the slowest around. 38 year old and a high wage too.

I hope so. We've got a couple of good players waiting in the wings if he doesn't stay, but he's been excellent so far. Even when Bromley raped us 6-1, it was the rest of the back four who were at fault.

It's either him or no one.

Stand to be corrected on this, but I'm hearing that the FL have question marks over paperwork submitted by Barnet i.e. not completed properly/fully, not only for the Akinola deal but also their two other signings so as it stands none of the 3 deals mentioned there have been given the green light.

Still a possibility they will go through, but maybe not for another week while the FL investigate.

Might be that they've sorted Barnet's incomings - we'll see when their squad is announced this afternoon. Likewise Akinola but as of yesterday lunch time, none of the deals went through properly.

Take him off our hands please,he might have been a good player but he's a shit manager employing anti football tactics like Westley did at Stevenage.

That is the reason I have hated your club for these last few years and you made me look like the bad guy.
