Probably on 700-800 a week here so you've given him 1500 a week.

No evidence we have doubled his wages and there probably never will be.

https://www.lincolnshirelive.co.uk/...reaction-expected-elliott-whitehouses-1680917

"It is understood Grimsby will more than double his wages while he’ll also get more first-team football under Michael Jolly. With that in mind, who can blame him for moving on?

It’s not that Lincoln couldn’t match the Mariners’ offer, they just chose not to. "

Great journalism there. Not bitter at all. Try and get our manager's name right as well please, next time. Still, it's nice to see that the guy that used to run their Twitter managed to get himself a new job.

Cheltenham fans are putting 2 and 2 together and probably coming up with 10 due to some "cryptic" Facebook posts from Jermaine McGlashan.

A couple of weeks ago he posted something with a pic of him when he played for us, then today there was this:

I'll believe it when I see it, but he did leave under somewhat of a cloud.

Unsure about this one. Like I said earlier in the thread, Mitch Rose seems to do a similar role though I’ve obviously barely watched Whitehouse. He’s possibly a replacement for Summerfield, who seems to be holding off signing a new contract.

I'd rather have Whitehouse than Summerfield given the choice. Way too many Town fans seem to have forgotten how bad Summerfield was before about a third or so of the way through last season. I wouldn't mind seeing Clifton in there a bit too. I'm getting more excited about O'Connor signing too, which means his is nailed on end up signing for them horrible lot.

I wanted Summerfield releasing last year and was so annoyed that he was starting games last season. But the turnaround in performances, peaking against Notts County, has made me want him to stay. We badly missed him when he got injured and he was the most consistent player last year (not that that says a lot). Of course, if Jolley gets in someone better, I’m fine with that. Not fully convinced by Clifton yet, hard worker but he’s a bit awkward and a bit slow for his age.

On the fence about O’Connor but I’ll trust Jolley’s judgement for now.

Oh but remember we are never ever ever doing this again after Charles Ademeno. Okay no but seriously, this will be the last time guys okay?

I still smile about Charlie. 9 goals in the conference (3 of which were scored in five minutes) and you insisted on making him your star striker.

I still reckon that side was Steve Evans' best achievement, over the promotion's etc, as we were proper skint and the players in that team went on to play for the likes of Kings Lynn etc.

Hold on Casey you have clearly forgotten about his near promotion as title favourites and almost open cheque book at Mansfield. That’s of course just before he backstabbed and ran to Posh#classy

We've signed Brighton u23 goalkeeper Robert Sanchez on loan, described as "the best u23 keeper out there" by our goalkeeping coach. He's Spanish, so hopefully should fit well into our tiki taka with a sweeper keeper approach.

Seem to be developing a trend of taking young Prem keepers on 1 year loans, had Bradley Collins from Chelsea last year and even though he made a few mistakes he came on really well as he got used to mens football and showed his ability second half of the season where he was one of our best players. Hoping this lad is similar, without the early clangers obviously.

Not much more to say on the Whitehouse situation. Came across as a Top Lad but he's 24 and needs to be playing every week, I just don't think he would here. A real trier who does make good runs beyond the strikers. The big downside with him is his first touch which means more often than not his second is a tackle.

Would I have given him a years contract on the same money - yes but I wouldn't have gone any more for that. If we sign O'Connor or someone of that ilk then I think all parties will be happy with the move. I imagine Sean Long will leave for the same reasons which means a busy recruitment period ahead.

p.s. Following reading the fishy (which has been great) can I repeat that the majority of Imps fans could see Jon Nolan had quality, no doubt. The issues were a poor attitude and he didn't fit in with the way we 'tried' to play football whilst with us.

Fair play to Elliot Whitehouse. We had him after his release from Sheffield United and his only saving grace was that he had a good shot on him.
He had a poor first touch, no pace at all and not a good passer of the ball. But he always worked very hard and you have to admire his tenacity in making it as a league player because he looked some way off for us.

There's been rumours that we were in for Bogle on loan for a season but not sure if it's 2+2=5 as the chairman had been on the old social media talking about more signings. Not sure how we'd afford his wages , but not sure how any club functions in the mad world of footballers wages.

I would jizz myself if Bogle came to us on loan, won’t happen though, not with his wages. Will go to the big-spenders, i.e Lincoln/Notts County.

Disappointed to lose Whitehouse always rated him. He's a manager's dream because he's always fit, good attitude whether he starts or not and usually guaranteed to make an impact when he comes on.

The fact is though that he wouldn't be a starter for us next season hence the one year deal and he will be for Grimsby.

Think he's very underrated reading some of the comments on here though, he's been excellent for us. Think he's very good technically as well, players that work hard seem to get tarred with this technical brush a lot. For me, he works hard, is decent on the ball and gets goals. Top CM/AM. He was certainly no worse than Woodyard technically.

Good luck to the lad, slightly miffed it's Grimsby but sounds like it's for the right reasons for all concerned. Very good signing.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bogle was off to Dons, Imps or Notts. He was our top target in January so could see the interest being reignited.

Edit, don't rule out Radford's HUGE sponsorship being behind a move to Manny T

If he drops back down here it will almost be a bit sad that he will be doing so without a proper crack at L1. That was his natural level when he left here. He's pissed about kicking his toys out the pram and spent so much time on Championship benches when he should have been looking at making a name for himself in the third tier. Wigan were so good last year he would have torn it up alongside the likes of Powell, Grigg, Power, Jacobs, Roberts, etc. Why on earth he thought he was above that or didn't fancy it, I'll never know.

We have been linked with the signing of Lawson D’ath, is he any good Luton and Northampton fans.

I liked him when he played for us. Should have got more of a chance when we got promoted. He's a direct player who can make stuff happen, would be a good signing.

I’m already preparing myself for the wages talk whoever he moves to. Lots of ‘must be on’, apparently, allegedly, our chairman said this , sort of posts with weekly wage numbers generated from a now disused national lottery machine.

I want him. But after going after and getting two relatively big name L2 strikers I can’t imagine we could / want a third.

I just can’t see Bogle needing to drop to League 2. He was doing alright at Cardiff before his stupid red card at Bristol City cost him his place and he had a bad spell at Peterborough, he’s still easily a good League 1 striker.

He never really got going here. Joined half way through the season and didnt really break through into a team that was playing wingers in central midfield. Got a pre season under his belt and it looked like he would start the most recent season as a first choice in our diamond system but he picked up an injury and Olly Lee just took the shirt from him and he never got it back really.

Made the odd appearance last season, usually in games where we didnt play very well before picking up another injury and never being seen again.

Looked to have good technical ability, but he needs to go somewhere where he will start games as his career has totally stalled ever since Northampton got promoted really.

O’Connor has turned us down, clearly we can’t match what Lincoln can chuck at it. Not overly disappointed given his injury record and the money it would’ve cost.

That, but he probably didn't fancy Grimsby full stop.

Notts have now also offered him another deal apparently.

I'd rather not get into a bidding war for someone as risky as he is in terms of his injury record. I get he feeling he's been using us and Grimsby as leverage against Notts, which is fair enough and I'm sure we'd all do it in our own careers if we were in demand. Hope we stick to our guns and don't go offering silly money to outbid Notts.
