Reggie Lambe. On his day great, but he’s a passenger in too many games, I think he knows he’s got talent so often thinks he only has to turn up in league 2. Some of his half arsed performances in a blue shirt were completely unacceptable.

I was pleased that we released him, but at the same time wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up one of the best players in the league as he’s easily capable.

We were like that when he left us for you - you don't know which Reggie Lambe to talk about. He's quite (or was with us) a likeable person too, which makes the 50/50 decision on whether to play him or keep him even harder.

Not a player i'd expect to see in a top 7 side, tbh.

Harry Smith has started following Vale on twitter after being spotted at the club early this week...

Caprice in League Two? Wow, his agent has done well there.

Shep is a great player. Actually shocked he's left as he is easily good enough for League 1 but the manager couldn't guarantee him a starting place so he wanted to move on.

Good signing.

What can we expect from Kanu?

Yeah Caprice was barely an average Conference player from what I remember. Not sure what Tranmere’s plan is buying him.

Anyone know anything about him?

Slightly worried as when he played at Premton Park, Ben Tollitt absolutely shredded him.
He had his uses for us going forward he got around 9 assists for us last season and is very, very quick. But in terms of defending he was poor. For me he is one of those luxuary players you can have in your team if you don't mind conceding a few or have a holding player good at covering for players like him. His speed got him back quickly on a few occasions, but not often enough.

JE gave him a few months to play for him, but he kept getting caught out positionally with his defending, costing us goals. He was eventually dropped and Sam Ling took his place, we improved as a team overall.

Otis Khan (apparently) and Walker signed and been training. Alex kiwomya also a target.

Might end up with a decent squad if we can shift the transfer listed lads

5 triallists with us at the moment

Jamie Sendles-White. Centre back who we had before but got a bad injury and was released last at Leyton Orient. Seems a bit of a desperate one that.

Lloyd Sam - Winger last at AFC Wimbledon

Martin Smith - Hard tackling midfielder from Coleraine in Norn Iron - ex Sunderland I think.

Jordan Williams - Ex Southend defender (of course!!)

And most excitingly, Maxwell Oldham who got player of the tournament at the Confifa world cup. I hope we sign him just for a giggle!
Sendles-White wasn't good for us, he was a gamble for us last season when we desperately needed to sign players.

Failed to adapt to the ways of the National League and was badly at fault for a number of goals we conceded.

After he had a fight with one of our fans after we lost 2-1away at Ebbsfleet, he was sent off a few games later and he didn't play for us again.

He ended the season at St.Albans. Have some sympathy for him though, he'd just come back from an ACL injury and was expected to quickly adapt to the National League, which was a bit too much for him.

Bravo, Jake Caprices's Agent. Bravo indeed.

He's a bit of a wet lettuce and I think it'll show more at this level than the NL. He shirked out of anything physical and saw himself as more of a fancy full back.

Started his career as a winger and you could tell that straight away. Better going forward than defensively, had an annoying habit of doing a silly flick type thing, which invariably ended up with him running centrally into trouble but had a decent cross on him and a bit of pace. Bit of a glorified sprinter, I suppose.

Wing-back will probably suit him more than at full back but even so, you need a wing back to have some kind of defensive brain - and he hasn't.

Dean Cox leaves Crawley "by mutual consent". A season and a half at Crawley, total of about 20 games a couple of assists and goals.

He is a really good player at this level (except for Crawley) and someone is going to pick up a bargain but it didn't seem he could play for us so completely understandable from both sides.

For various reasons he has only played half a season in the last three. A waste of talent but I hope he gets back to where he was....except against us.

The Caprice signing is not really a surprise. Mellon has always been a big fan of him and he has had some very good games against us in the last couple of years.

Mellon is attack minded and likes the option of playing 352, which I would guess is why he has been brought here. I doubt we will ever use him in a back four.

Shoddy...where have you heard Cox is going to Cambridge?

He was by far our highest paid player and was never in the team. We would never get a fee for a player who was reported as unable to play for six months so as long as we didn't pay up his contract in full it's no great loss to us.

According to the club twitter another player has signed a new contract with us. Keith Lowe is the only out of contract player left from our retained list so hopefully it's him.

I’m off to Valencia to do some scouting at the Mestalla for STFC. The Spain game there on Sunday should be fun! :)

Back on topic we are interested in Courtney Duffus who scored goals on loan at Waterford last season (our Chairman’s other team) a striker from Oldham

Yeah. He's quick as shit. Can't defend, no technical ability... You've signed our third choice right back. Let that sink in.

And you've signed our worst ever* striker, so looks like a great bit of business for both of us.

*may not be completely true, as we also once had george barker

But we are a non-league side!

(I fully expect Alabi to score a hat trick on his debut, everyone falls in love with him immediately, he does nothing from then on and ends up at Chelmsford by January)

What can we expect from Kanu?

Not a lot to one honest.

He looked completely out of his depth at League 1 level and the majority of our fans wonder how he has managed to seal a loan move to a team in League 2. I think conference, or perhaps even the conference south is his current level, but here's hoping that he has a great season for you guys and scores some goals.

As a player, he's quick. And ermm..... well, there isn't much else.

I hope you announce Khan soon as it's become an incredibly tedious saga since January and we're all bored of it. He's talented but got a bad attitude at times so i'm really not that bothered about losing him. Release clause is only £100k though apparently which is disappointing.

He'll be playing as a wing back by the looks of it, so hopefully he's good going forward.
He's shocking as a defender. Must have a good agent. I'd be worried if I were you! Wing Back is better than Full Back but he's still mid-table Conference level at best.

I've just remembered his weird, Mr Tickle arms thing he does when an attacker is running at him.
