Junior Mondal now official, 18 month deal. Young pacy winger/striker, ex Middlesbrough academy was at Whitby this season.

Carries on our trend of signing cheap youngsters with potential and (hopefully) developing them. #strong&sustainable

I remember his Dad playing — Junior Mondal Senior.

Signed Jake Kean on a months contract.

Bobby Ojenik forced his way in to the number 1 slot and was superb but he’s had a freak accident in training ‘anterior cruciate ligament rupture‘ could be out for year, so cruel.

I would play Kean over Conrad Logan.

Good luck with that. We had him on loan. Think he played 2 games (maybe even one), was absolutely shocking and never to be seen again.

Along with the Sykes deal who is now down to personal terms, it looks like for once we are going to try and sort deals out in January for key players rather than risk losing them in the summer.

The infamous Smurthwaite “Sweetie Jar” which is joked about in a Xmas competition today had led to a few teasers from Smurf and Pope regarding the sweeties Pope wants and Sealing the deal, along with mentions of a testimonial, reading between the lines the Pontiff looks close to signing a new contract to take him into the next couple of years... not that I’d expect him to leave anyway... imagine he will see out his career at the Vale anyway.

Assume Manny Oyeleke will be one we will be looking to get sorted and Luke Hannant who Bolton were rumoured to be sniffing around.

Would hope we extend Conlon too who has been outstanding considering he came to us for a trial.

Was absolutely shite for us last season, terrified to move off his line, not far off Tommy Forecast levels of shitness.

I get the feeling that goalkeepers playing for Grimsby have more to do than the average Mansfield keeper

This week he’s been linked to MK, Oxford and now Rovers. Personally I can’t see him going to any of those as we’d want around £1M for him.

A million fucking pounds? Give over.
In today’s market easily. Stockley has a 1 in 2 strike rate over the last season and a half and is only 24.

Last summer Mo Eisa signed for Bristol City for £1.5m and Kayden Jackson went to Ipswich for £1.6m both of whom had scored fewer goals than Stockley. We also sold Ollie Watkins to Brentford a year and a half ago for £1.8m.

A few bits starting to come out the woodwork for us now.

Matt Green looks like he's off to Salford and we're interested in taking Mo Eisa and Lewis Travis on loan from Bristol City and Blackburn respectively. Mostly L1 Clubs are in for Travis, so we probably won't manage that one.

Jamie McCombe's good mates with Lee Johnson, so hopefully that holds some weight when/if it comes to Eisa.

Doidge went for seven figures as well. Wouldn't be a surprise if Stockley went for £1m+

You've missed the boat with Eisa from what I've heard.

Mansfield definitely want a striker to make a immediate impact, we also need a CB for cover.

Diamond has retired and Anderson is hopefully finally going and that will be around 5k off the wage bill.

Some random twitter account is saying we are after that Mo Eisa aswell, also 3 GK’s. Adam Smith from Bristol Rovers who we’ve had before, and a young lad from Newcastle and Derby.

Probably all bull but as Conker says we definitely need a striker, Maybe 2 depending on how long Davies is likely to be out for. A goalkeeper unless we keep Kean until the end of the season as he’s only signed for a month and maybe cover in defence although Mirfin should be back end of Jan/Early Feb and also we have MacDonald to come back into the side but not much has been said about him recently so no idea when he should be back.

Would be disappointing but not surprised if Norwood was sold and we got Eisa on loan to replace him.

Mark Palios said on radio Merseyside Norwood would not be sold. The Cup run means we can afford to risk letting him go on a free in the summer.

I don’t see Eisa going Tranmere personally.

Be surprised if he wants to drop back down to league 2 at all, so soon after getting his big move up. Surely more likely to go to a league 1 club, Coventry interested apparently.

I'd be surprised if he dropped back to League 2, but if he did then I'd see FGR as the favourites to get him, what with the locality and whatnot. I'd like to think we'd be in for him, but Lee Johnson isn't going to do us any favours now is he?

Matt Green to Salford is basically wrapped up and by all accounts, it's a terrific deal for a near 32 year old who's out of contract in the summer.

No transfer window in the NL, so he'll leave immediately and it'll leave us light up front for 3 games with only Rhead and Akinde but Salford will have paid a premium to get him this side of Xmas.

Why are Bristol City getting rid of Eisa? He's barely played, has he?

It'll be to get games I assume.

He was a great goalscorer last year, but I don't think he was as good as most Cheltenham fans would have you believe. I only saw him in home games where, of his 20 plus goals, he only scored 7 at home, including a hat-trick against Vale (by far his best performance). I was glad of the money that City paid because I believe he may well have suffered 2nd season syndrome had he stayed - especially with how poor we were at the start of the season.
