Not really a transfer rumour as such but apparently if Hull get taken over they want Phil Brown as manager for some reason. I am perfectly happy with that, he hasn't pulled up many trees, the football generally is better under Flitcroft but we haven't exactly pushed on.

If our chairman can get compo for him, then he's a better businessman than a lot of us give him credit for!

Weird how football works, although we have not been getting the results the football we have been playing has been the best for donkeys under Flitcroft.

'keeper Grant Smith has gone to Maidstone on loan until the end of the year, which puts us back down to 2 GK's.

A victim of circumstance because we can't terminate Slocombe's loan, so need to shift him short term.

Franck Moussa has ended his trial with us - not necessarily a reflection on his fitness, we just don't need another midfielder and never did, at least not without moving some on.
Apparently another signing or two next week as well. I think one may be Cody McDonald - based purely on deduction of we're getting a striker in who Taylor has worked with and has played in the league above. That would be a very strong signing for this level.

Cody McDonald is still training with us and expected in next week - with a decision on a contract imminent but not soon enough for the Checkatrade squad next week.

(Edit: Checkatrade is 13/11, so could be his first "competitive" match for us)

Yep. My guess was wrong as we signed Conor Wilkinson instead

Rumours that Andy Cook will be coming back on loan in January. His Mrs doesn't like it there, and hes fell out with Keates.

Apparently we are in talks to sign Karl Henry. A little odd as we have a load of centre midfielders but he’s combative and experienced at higher levels so no harm in bringing him in.

DC was in Ireland on Sunday watching Dundalk vs Cork City in the League of Ireland Cup Final.

Robbie Benson seems to be one of the guys in question, although he's also been linked with Bristol Rovers and Charlton. Looks like he might be out of contract at the end of this month because their season runs February to October.

Our chairman is also chairman at Waterford and I reckon is keeping an eye on talent over in Ireland. Kieran Sadlier of Cork City was on our radar and I imagine Power may be keeping tabs on players like Benson if he is out of contract.

That said, we would be 4th in the list behind you guys and Rovers and Charlton for sure!

We've signed Nathan Cameron, centre half apparently. Never heard of him. Can't be any worse than what we've got.

Still be better than Grimes or Kelleher if he only had one leg.

I think we wanted to sign him but he just was not up to it due to injuries.

IF fit one of the best C/H's outside the championship. SADLY his knees are buggered and cannot train and often cannot play, it's a crying shame because not only is he way above league 2 he's a cracking lad as well.

Spoke to him whilst he was training with us in the Summer, real shame that he got injured again whilst here. Hope it works out for him, one more injury now and I think it will finish him.

Wow, with Eisa and Mayor you’ll really be a force to be reckoned with.
Just need Iniesta in to see out his career and we might push for 7th!
Poster claims he's been reliable in the past though haven't been arsed to check it out, seems a bit unlikely, thought Brizzle would be looking to loan Eisa to a L1 club if at all, but no clue really tbh. Fantastic if it happens, obviously.

I'd expect Mo to go to League 1, but this wouldn't surprise me. I can imagine Lee Johnson being petty enough to loan Mo to the one club likely to piss Cheltenham off.

'No chance of this happening' according to our local reporter Jon Palmer - he's bang on 99% of the time so I'm inclined to believe him.

Now you've done it - you're going to have the Stroud one (OTC on our forum) coming on now banging on about how JP was wrong about Elliott Frear, etc, etc, etc.....

Yeah but he's a bit of a tosser though, who does not like FGR very much at all for some reason, probably sees us as a bit of a threat to his beloved Cheltenham.

Jesus, it's someone worse.

JP is far from a tosser, he's a thoroughly decent bloke and, if you'd met him you'd probably agree. He is a Cheltenham fan, but I've only ever known him to be fair when reporting, even when having his stories made out to be bs (when evidence proves otherwise) by a certain Eco-Friendly electric company owner.

I suspect JP knows people close to Mo Eisa (along with people in the club) and this is why he is certain it won't happen. Personally, I don't care what happens with Mo, it would be a backward step going to FGR and you'd expect interest from a few League One clubs.
