Otis Khan was on Ninja Warrior, so he can piss off. League 2 does not have room for two TV stars.
The second person I ever got off with is gonna be on the current/new series of Ninja Warrior.

Also looks like we’re signing Dimi Evtimov, who was released by Forest before the deadline. Know nowt about him but it cannot be worse than Ross Fitzsimons currently is.

Can anyone explain the transfer window which, apparently, opens on Wednesday. Just what is the point of it all. It’s become a right farce.

Ouch. We had him a few years ago when we went through a spell of having a different goalkeeper a week. He was probably the worst one.

Shola Ameobi's Notts County
My one Mansfield fan acquaintance swore blind he was the second coming of Lev Yashin at the time.

Goalkeepers is all about the mental side innit. Criminal he's 24 and played so little football given the hype 5-6 years ago. A decent run rather than month long loans and U23 matches might be exactly what he needs (ala King Bart) or it may just expose all of his flaws and he'll drop into the non league abyss like a Fabian Spiess.

Either way, he's not Ross Fitzsimons.

Elliott Ward to be announced alongside Paul Hart as DoF
Hart seems a weird one as DoF (thought it was termed as Technical Director by Hardy, which I thought was a different position).

We had a DoF and Head Coach back in 2006/07 and it worked for two thirds of a season.

I reckon it is more of a mentor/adviser role, which he is currently doing at Luton (although his title is assistant manager). Why he’d swap L1 for L2 I don’t know, unless he is still based up here.

Very pleased with signing of Elliott Ward, Karl Henry is looking less likely as the days tick by but I’d stil like him. A decent GK and we’re looking a bit better

He lives in Nottingham apparently.

A shame to lose him I think as I think at times he saved Jones from himself and was clearly a bit of a mentor figure for him.

Hearing that Harry Kewell wants his first signing at Notts to be a marquee signing to really get the fans on board so he’s going after an ex player of his, Josh Lelan of Aldershot Town.

We signed Evtimov on an emergency loan last season. He literally signed about 11-00 am on the Saturday morning. Think it was Swindon.
Had an absolute howler but to be fair to the lad he was probably introduced to his team mates in the dressing room.
Terribly at fault for one goal in a 0-3 reverse.
Never to be seen again in a Vale shirt.

He was dreadful! (although unfair to base him on one game overall!) One of the many keepers of the last two years!

We've signed Ryan Williams until January. Was at Morecambe, Brentford and most recently been in Brazil. Good at free kicks apparently.

2 former Crawley players (expected and also not expected in the same breath)

Cedric Evina and Jamie Turley- both defenders both signed today

Amazing how nearly all managers dip into the well of ex-players.
I guess they know their characters etc but not the start to his reign many anticipated.

It makes sense to go with what you know, the certainly , surely?

Whether they are actually any good or beneficial to the squad is another matter but at least you know what you are getting

Turley was on trial at Crawley during the summer and not signed. He has never been a Crawley player but he looked like a big lump of a centre half and not that bad.

Evina is an odd one for Kewell to sign. He was on loan to us last season from Donny (?) but Kewell never mentioned he wanted to sign him for us this summer when his contract at Donny expired. He is a half decent left back but like most full backs these days has a tendency to get caught too far forward.

I suppose this is a case of needs must. Notts need some defenders and although these two will not set the world alight they are capable of doing a decent job a this level.
