Bit of a shitter for FGR but having been in the FL for a season now, you'd hope that they are better equipped to cope with him leaving.

Never ideal to lose your top scorer and, by some distance, your biggest goal threat but it would have been far worse had you lost him last season.

£1m+ for him is also a decent return, albeit it's got to be re-invested correctly.

On the upside FGR fans, you should pass financial fair play okay.

Yeah, Pringle's legs have gone after a bad injury he had. Still has decent footballing intelligence, but no pace or agility to his game at all. I'd say League Two is his level now, from what I saw.

Jack Byrne has been let go after being ostracised from the first team since early in pre-season. Top level talent, but he never lasts very long at any club. Someone will take a chance, because he does have that serious talent, but seemingly no idea how to be a professional football player. It'll be fascinating to see how he does from here on out.

Really pleased at what Aston Villa fans are saying about Lyden! Hope he slots in alongside Gardner and makes a name for himself this season.

Lol @ FGR
Not really, we have gone from a situation around seven years ago when we nearly folded over a £25k bill from the Taxman to today where we have effectively sold a player for more than £1m...a lot of clubs have been far less fortunate than us in that timescale.

Gambin from Luton year long loan ,Bondz N'Gala from nowhere for a month and Maguire from Fleetwood until January.

Gambin comes with a good reputation but why an Earth have we signed another winger? Also, who has signed these players?

I think the best bit of transfer business this season is when we managed to get Tranmere to take Cole Stockton off us.
There's a suggestion you and/or Hearts are still contributing to his wages? Sadly he hasn't returned in the rich vein of form when he left, but early days.

For what its worth he played as more of a box to box midfield player here in our diamond formation. Started out not great at that but did well whenever called upon in that role last season. He could probably have a decent go at playing a number 10 type as well id have thought.

Good and technically very decent player IMO but just not going to get a look in here anymore it seems.

Suggestions we're signing Bernard Mensah on loan from Bristol Rovers after a loan move for Danny Rowe fell through at last minute.

EDIT - And as if by magic, Mensah signs.
Good footballing brain has Mensah.

We have sold Robbie Muirhead to Dunfermline. I was thinking what a stupid time to sell a striker when we haven't got anyone fit who can hit the back of the net. Then I saw his stats, I really didn't think her was that bad - 57 appearances, scoring five goals. Bye Robbie.

Commiserations to FGR, that's exactly what happened to us with Bogle two seasons ago. Say what you will about DV though, he'll probably invest some of that money in getting a decent replacement in. Still, moving Reid back inside isn't a bad option to have for now. Might need Williams to step up from now until Jan, though.

They signed a young striker called Ben Morris on loan from Ipswich yesterday, likely because Doidge was on the way. Reckon they'll ask him to chip in a few.

Bastard, thought we'd got through the end of the widow unscathed. Reid can come central and Tav Campbell has looked promising but obviously won't be the same. Don't think we could have stood in Christian's way though, expect him to turn out for Wales sooner rather than later.

Pringle to Grimsby looks a good signing.

Didn’t the fanny on this site who was a Rovrum bellend wax lyrical about how good he was for them in League 1?
We had him last season and he was pretty crap.

Sounds promising.
He may be okay at this level but as already mentioned by another poster, his legs seem to have gone. He was a far cry from the player Rotherham had a few years ago.

Bolton linked with a January move for Luke Hannant. Would be a blow as he’s been decent and improving all the time since signing from Gateshead!

Lazy journalism at its worst. Hes doing well, but has only a handful of league games under his belt. I cant see it happening, although it would be sensible to get him signed up for the longer term.
