Heard we're potentially in for Ash Taylor who I believe is available for transfer from Northampton.

Considering the vocal minority of our fans who obsess over players who played for the worst Crewe side in 35 years a few years back, I don't care if Taylor's a mediocre signing, I'd absolutely take him over their preferred choice Jon Guthrie. Guthrie's got more leaks in him than Julian Assange with the amount of goals he's played a part in conceding whilst being a first team regular for the past 5 seasons at both Crewe and Walsall.

Tough to say, he was very highly rated at Brum, they thought Harry should have given him a chance, and he played for the England u20's so the potential's there I think. Certainly a cut above league 2 in terms of his passing and vision. Had about 6 contenders in our goal of the season list.

Was very lightweight when he signed and struggled at times last season,has got noticeably stronger this year, but he is very small and needs to play in a passing side where he gets on the ball a lot.

Szmodics was excellent at our place, but have only seen him once tbf.

That seems fairly damning. He was a decent defender for Rovers, though distribution not a strong point and got unfairly targeted by the boo-boys. Has the appearance of being good whilst actually is not. He started off ok here but then got worse and worse as time went on. First reaction is to blame others around him whenever we conceded, even was it was clearly his fault. We seemed to have a MUCH better record when he wasnt in the team, plus he was apparently on a fair wedge. Loves to have a shot from 35 yards as well. Thinks he is better than he is. He is by no means horrendous, should be a solid L2 centre back, but nowhere near someone like Pierre who we will probably lose also.
