Decsnt signing if you play him down the middle. Bang average as a wide player.

Seems to tally with what Wellens has said about him.

“He had a loan spell at Carlisle which was very good for him last year – he spent the first ten or twelve games playing wide left which is not his natural position but he showed great character and attitude just to get on with the job.”

Pretty happy with our business so far. For the first time in a while we appear to actually have some kind of plan of action with our signings rather than allowing Brown to sign 16 midfielders and try and mould a team somehow.

I think we may have one more before the end of this week, the mystery 'class signing' that our resident ITK poster on our forum has offered.

Surely he's 60 odd with a first name like Jerry.

Happy with Jezza. Who's next. I'm greedy for more.

What I don’t understand is why Rovrum didn’t want to sell him. He’s got a year left on his contract so if he, hopefully, knocks in 20 next season, they’ll get fuck all for him.

Carlisle have signed Jack Bridge after he was released by Northampton. I, among most fans wanted us to offer him a new contract, so good signing. However he needs to be played consistantly in the right position (number 10 or cutting in from the left), as Curle used him in and out of the side mostly as a wing back ???

Seemed to play a fair number of games for you last season, I figure he was one of the players Curle was looking to replace though with the business you've already done this summer.

Good news anyway to sign a player who is off the back of a season at this level. We need to increase the number of players in our squad who won't need to adjust.

I couldn't fathom that either. They've just been relegated to League One so now is the time surely for them to play him, and if not, why keep him an extra season? I could understand if they were relying on loanees again and only willing to let him go half-season in case they need to recall him again, but it's a full season loan.

People give Pope stick on Twitter he will happily give it back.

He enjoys the banter and has mentioned in the past about how he wont hide from the banter and happily engages in it.

He's been toying with Sjoke fans for a couple of years. A few other players who follow him love it! Him and Ellison for instance are always at each other.

All harmless fun.

I don't doubt that there's no malice but he's not exactly being a great ambassador for Port Vale (assuming he's still with you, haven't seen your retained list) or Tom Pope.

If he was representing Mansfield I'd hope someone would say something to him so he'd stop to be honest.

He complained for a full 90 minutes in the game at our place so I'm not surprised about his personality.

Must not rate him too highly right now, if he scores a decent amount then he would probably be worth more at a tribunal than Swindon were offering to pay now. Also, if he does well then he might sign an extension with them in January.

They might even have a one-year option on him.

I can see logic, he's worth more playing regularly than the odd game off their bench.

Assume you've had a word with Adam Stag and Conker, then? :ohm::lol:

Rotherham have a recall clause in January just like with the Carlisle loan last year.
Most Rotherham fans would be happy to see him sold but the management team still think there's a player in there somewhere.

We've spoken about Liam McCarron and Jarrad Branthwaite for the first time since reports began that several Premiership and Championship clubs started chasing him.

The Daily Mail and local papers in places like Leeds and Wolverhampton have been talking about this as though it were a done deal. We've admitted we've received offers and said we don't need the money and it would have to be a 'large large' sum. Whether the 250k that's being talked of is a large large sum, I don't know, but it would indicate that we're in more trouble than we thought if it is.

I'm hoping we don't sell. We don't get much to cheer about at this level and local lads coming through the youth team and playing well is one of the few things we can enjoy.

Are you dependent on loanees like you were last season? I remember that you recalling him from us was a knock-on effect of other clubs recalling players from you.

Or is the recall clause there in case Jerry says 'you know what, Swindon are shit, can I go back to Carlisle?' :P

Fans generally seem to see the humour in it, most would 100% agree with him on the Stevenage parts last night!

He is one of the fans too bear in mind so probably gets less flack as he is a die hard Vale fan and born in the community but its just his personality really, says what he thinks.

What even started all that? Pope seems to have deleted half his tweets but those that are left most fans let alone players would be embarrassed to look that salty and butt-hurt.

We will be signing loan players eventually, once their clubs deem fit to talk to us.

No idea why a lad from Donny would choose Swindon over Carlise, doesn't make any sense does it? .

Wellens must be persuasive.

It's the magic roundabout, it's mesmerising. Ten minutes sat in Richie Wellens' office staring at that thing and you'll anything he tells you to.

We have got Smith, Procter, Vassell in front of him. Plus the one loan we do have from Norwich Carlton Morris.

On the presumption that you are on the wind-up........

I'm not sure that a 22 year old footballer looking to get a foothold in the game cares too much about geography when making a potentially next move.

Perhaps he sees Swindon as a better bet than Carlisle for footballing reasons?

He was subject to a rumour site of a move to Mansfield which he obviously shot down and the Mansfield fans started giving him stick so he gave it back, then Stevenage fan twitter started up...
