From Mansfield perspective we have a settled squad full of really good players for this level, so hardly any activity is needed - Bradford have likely already signed double what we will for the
entire summer,

Also Newport squad does not seem particularly strong to me?

I cannot deal with another group of fans wanting a pat on the back for the entire season like Lincoln did.

I'll be honest, I didn't think Lincoln were that bad.

Luton's army of fans desperate to be patted on the back when they were down here were really irritating. Especially that Ken guy who seemed to just create a load of Luton based threads to massage his massive Luton Ego.

Lightening certainly can strike twice - although quite rare.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about us possibly replicating Notts County next season, but I still struggle to grasp the comparison in circumstance.

Unless you have neglected the defensive side of your team, you won’t.

The thing with Luton and Lincoln, though, was their arrogance was warranted by dint of their team’s performances.

I’d be surprised if anyone was much of a cut above any other this season.

Mark Cullen signs. Chuffed with that if we can keep him fit enough. Pope, Cullen, Miller and Bennett is a better set of options than last year so thats a boost.

Are you moaning about them tinpotters moaning about your moaning?
For what it's worth I have always found you don't take yourselves all that seriously.

We've made our first senior signing with Luke Gambin on a free from Luton. Presumably a replacement for Brennan Dickenson.

Can’t wait to win the league by March at the latest and dredge these posts up.

Ryan Lloyd has also returned with the club announcing it directly after Cullen as predicted to soften the blow!

Pointless one that, was at Vale for years from being a youth and didn't get a look in!

Well to be fair Lincoln fans didn't have a self confessed hatred of Swindon like they did Mansfield.

Huge improvement on last season now when we had:

Pope
Miller
Elliott
Harris

As our four options! Elliott out of college football of course!

Being compared with Luton and Lincoln fans because of a couple of views(one who’s a known wum) on our own fan site, if I could be bothered I’m sure they’re similar ott statements on fan sites up and down the country and now we’re snowflakes for calling people out on it:2thumb:.

Comparing us with Luton is just to far btw, they were unbearable last season! We could get 110 points and still be nowhere near the twit Kenny is!

Cullen has done well at Blackpool previously, just got to hope he can stay fit as that is obviously the question mark with him. Adds something different to our forward line at least.

As for Ryan Lloyd this had clearly been done some time ago but the club were just looking for the right time to fit in the announcement. Never rated him myself much during his previous spell though clearly Askey believes he can get something out of him so will just have to see how it goes.

We had him on loan second half of the season. He scored 0 goals. Not necessarily shit, he just seems to pick up injury after injury. Been the story of his last 2 seasons.

Still expect he’ll be better than Bennett though, even if he’s sat in the stands injured.

Lloyd is a tricky one as to be honest we never really saw him play! He was never deemed good enough and loaned out every season so I guess we need to give him a chance but yeah I want another signing on top for that position!

He scored 4 in 16 for Blackpool so has something but just is a worry over injuries, it was meant to be announced yesterday but guess that was over the 1 year deal due to his injury record possibly? Maybe a trigger added to cover us and him.

We've signed Lee Collins from Forest Green. Thoughts Rovers fans? Or Port Vale fans?

Yep, exactly. We had four strikers - two of whom were nowhere near league level leaving two more who couldn't play together with Pope being run into the ground and Miller playing well once every two months.

Our forward line, whilst not spectacular, is more robust than last season and less reliant on Tom Pope. Hopefully we'll see him being used more intelligently and we can reap the rewards like we did in some games towards the end of the season (Crewe springs to mind).
