Dale Hill. 20yr old chicken farmer from Pocklington is one of the trialists we’ll be running the rule over. He’s never played 11 aside at any level before but apparently he’s a good futsal player and impressed when adapting to 11 aside at our open trials.

Lightening certainly can strike twice - although quite rare.

I’ve heard a lot of talk about us possibly replicating Notts County next season, but I still struggle to grasp the comparison in circumstance.
I really dont think anyone could possibly replicate nutts clownty even in my wildest dreams did i think they would sink so low ,bradford will be top 3 ,minimum play offs

For some reason, unknown, we’ve been linked to Danny Mayor. Along with Plymouth and Tranmere.

No way that one.

We've made our first senior signing with Luke Gambin on a free from Luton. Presumably a replacement for Brennan Dickenson.

Good player. Was at Crawley on loan all last season. Winger come attacking midfielder. One of those busy buzzing around players.

Definitely do well but he is knee high to a grasshopper.

I can guarantee that you will not see a more pointless or waste of a signing than Ryan Lloyd signing for us. He was with us for years, barely played, looked non existent when he did play. However, he randomly kept getting contact after contract. Since then he hasn’t pulled up any trees in non league with Macclesfield and Chester and barely played for Macclesfield last year. But Vale being Vale and due to Lloyd being a local lad who Askey knows, we’ll happily give him a job.

Quite frankly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a poorer scouting network than Vale’s recently.

The thing I’m trying to get across, in my own clumsy fashion,is it’s fine Bradford thinking they’ve made the best signings, it’s the disregard of every other club whose players, or at least the vast majority of them, they have never heard of yet alone know what they’re like.

I just think it’s going to take more than a couple of vintage names up front to make a statement in L2.
Very true but I have seen in the past you can have a very average side but a couple of decent strikers can get you promoted

Had some good little (literally given his size!) appearances in our promotion from this division, technically a very proficient player and still did well when played out of his usual wing position which we never actually played him in.

The annoying thing with him was he would make some nice contributions and seem to be on the edge of breaking into the 11 but then get a call up for Malta and head to the back of he queue again. Once we got promoted he was just never going to get a look in.

Don't share the feelings of the other City fans on that forum really. Think we've made one or two decent signings but there's also quite a few unknowns. I'd be delighted with the playoffs but I can see us finishing mid table.

Heard Bristol Rovers, Tranmere, Bradford all in the mix for Mayor as well as Plymouth. We'd be bottom of that pile unfortunately. Don't think we could afford the wages of Bennett, Mayor, Robinson and another striker surely.

Is that all we have? I thought we had at least 9 players who have won promotion (at least once) from League Two at some point.....

What did the Walsall fans think of Corey Blackett-Taylor ? We have just signed him on a two year deal from Villa.

Sounds as though Szmodics is all but confirmed as Bristol City-bound for circa £750k in the next few days or so.

Lloyd was very good for us in our league winning season but suffered from injuries last season. I'd have been more than happy for us to keep him. Though that maybe says more if where I'm aiming for us to be than you are for Vale.

Hopefully location comes into the equation for him which will mean a straight shootout between us and Tranmere. And if that's the case I'd fancy our chances considering we managed to get Vaughan ahead of them.

I don't think we were seriously after Vaughan; he just used our late interest to get a three year deal from Bradford.

Not that I expect us to sign Mayor.

For Bradford fans, last season was atrocious. Team was rubbish and we could see years of hard work both on and off the pitch destroyed in 9 months. Do excuse us but what you are seeing on this forum is not necessarily over confidence but some joy in feeling positive again. I’m never a fan of supporters belittling other clubs or fans. I don’t mind it in the players though as a bit of arrogance and bravado might mean they feel confident in doing the odd trick or two, which is what wins you games

Bradford have made some very average signings, playoffs if they are lucky.

Vaughan was all but confirmed two weeks ago it was only his holiday that caused the delay, signed up and completed his medical when he got back.

Luke Varney had his highest ever goalscoring season last season at the age of 36.

Playoffs wouldn’t be bad I’d take that consideration the shite we’ve had over the last 18 months. Fancy another day out at Wembley, it’ll have been 3 years since we were last there come may.

As mentioned above Danny Rose to Tranmere is gathering speed. A well known insider on our forum has just posted he was at the club today and are hoping to get the deal done urgently before he’s dragged off to Portugal as part of Mansfield pre season tour.

Any stags fans able to add to this?

Mellon wants two forwards with Rose, Lang and Stefan Payne the three top of his wishlist.
