Joe Quigley is on trial with Mansfield, flew with the squad to Portugal.

The response to this on Twitter really makes me laugh because of his goal scoring record they are not happy, I think a few to many of our fans are spoiled now due to our last few summers.

To be fair Walker didn’t have any sort of record last season, you’ve got to give people a chances .

Joe Quigley is absolutely appalling. Not even remotely NL standard, let alone L2. Waste of time.

Here's an odd one. Ex Crawley player, Dennon Lewis, has just signed for

Wait for it...

Will be good to get the GK spot sorted.

Warren will be solid I’m sure but just hoping that we eventually sign a striker that will give us real optimism.

You got Ward that is the GK sorted

We were linked to Jack Payne a day or so ago. Bradford fans, any good? I think you had him on loan last season?

Can be either unplayable or invisible, hope that helps. Definitely worth a punt though.

Christ knows how he's managed to get a trial with a football league club. He was one of the worst forwards in the National League last season.

People are probably laughing because he’s shite and Tyler Walker is really good

Players can turnaround dramatically, and say If we signed him you’ll probably be looking at 5th choice.

Either way I’m personally willing to give any players a chance, plus it’s only a trial although he has gone to Portugal for a week.

Would be a massive coup for Lincoln, carried us for half a season but ran out of steam unsurprisingly, for me a top end L1/bottom end Champ player.

Liam McAlinden is apparently on trial at Walsall.

I'll be amazed if he gets another Football League club.

Walsall going for a classic double relegation.

And it's former Cheltenham legend Chris Banks. An absolute hero at Whaddon Road, was captain of the team from 1994 to 2002 and was there from the Southern League days right up to our promotion to the 3rd tier.

Really hope it works out well for him.

Chris Banks, Jamie Victory, Mike Duff and John something-or-other (Brough?) were all must-sign defenders for a League Two side on Champ Man 2001. Could pick up the entire back 4 for about 70k and win the division without a sweat.

He is hilariously garbage. I’d rather have Tom Denton. Or a lamppost.

You have to get very, very far down the list of strikers released by NL clubs this season before you get anywhere near Quigley.

Well we signed Andy Cook for £1m so it doesn’t matter.

Not strictly transfer related, but our owner, Simon Hallett, bought £3 million worth of equity shares in the club. Club statement says the investment will focus on infastructure, but maybe some will find its ways into Lowe’s budget.

We've signed Callum Burton. Hopefully will give Mitov some competition.

You're right with John Brough. Duff is a bona-fide Champ Man legend. £35k and he'd last for nearly 20 years and average over 8 for the season every year without fail. He was always my first signing, regardless of who I became manager of.

I rate him - very good, technically.

From Jan, we contributed £12k per week of his salary - from Aug-Dec, £5k per week.

Great player in a side playing well!

Blackburn and Birmingham wanted him only this week; I’d be surprised to see him commit to a League One club - although I’m sure you pay decent wages, as do we, you’re not in the same league (financially) as the teams mentioned.

That’s pretty insane that you could pay those sort of wages and still end up in League 2.

Money doesn’t guarantee success, as you know.

Payne was practically unplayable for the first part of the season, and everyone felt that if we were able to secure his services for the rest of the season, we’d stay up with relative ease. Huddersfield were reluctant to send him back out on loan to us, but soon changed their mind when we offered to cover virtually all of his salary. Costing us about £300k for six month, in wages. A small price to pay some would say to retain L1 status.

Scannell is another one on big bucks, somewhere between £7k-£8k per week currently - and he was out injured for most of the season.

Am I missing something? You got relegated with him playing and costing a small fortune. How’s that a small price?

I guess without the benefit of hindsight, Bradford fans felt at the time it was money well spent if it kept them up. But his point was that money doesn't guarantee success.

That’s the beauty of hindsight - it was a small price to pay (at the time of agreeing the deal), due to the reasons mentioned....c’mon ID.

Not sure how good he is at football but he made some great soft porn movies in the 1970’s.

Absolutely terrible. A bad egg as well. We had 3 managers in his time here and none of them rated him.

Newport took him on loan and sent him back early I believe.

We are interested in signing Sam Jones after he was released by Shrewsbury. Played for Hurst at Grimsby and then was signed by him at Shrewsbury so would make sense.
