Adam Buxton is a decent signing for the Shrimps. Suggestion he was originally offered another deal by Rovers, but didn't take it up. Yes, he does carry too much timber, but compensates by being a footballer with a brain, reads the game well. He played a role in the build-up to our play-off winner and will always be fondly remembered for that. Also good delivery with set pieces.

Size is not everything. After all, you have got a much bigger budget to spunk than us and you are in a lower division. :bg:

To be fair you refused to believe Mansfield had a bigger average away attendance, therefore I refuse to believe Tranmere have a smaller budget.

Still cannot believe you lot bid £500k for Danny Rose.

All of this willy-waving and trading of statistics is beneath a League One club.

Actually I’ve just talked to my ITK source and he suggest it’s actually worth up to 800k with instalments and add-one.

Also I had to visit Birkenhead not long back for work and somebody literally took off the locking nuts and nicked the alloys on my work rental - do they know what decade it is over that way?

We are interested in signing Sam Jones after he was released by Shrewsbury. Played for Hurst at Grimsby and then was signed by him at Shrewsbury so would make sense.

Scored on his debut and seemed to think he'd done everything he needed to. Looked dreadful in every game following that, including losing his shit against Oldham and committing an awful tackle and deservedly getting sent off.

Winning the pen against Grimsby was the only thing of note he did afterwards before he was packed off back to Shrewsbury.

Where have you heard that?

He was absolutely quality when you beat us 3-1 last season. He seemed to be playing CB though in a 5-3-2 from what I can remember, he's actually a LB though isn't he? We desperately need a new LB so hope he is.
Was mentioned on our forum, so is obviously a rumour rather than fact. However, our lot started pre-season training on Thursday and he apparently wasn't there...

Can play LB or CB. When he's good he's decent L1 standard, but has the odd mare of a game where he's had to be subbed off after 25 minutes. Also a bit injury prone - was apparently a very promising youngster at Posh, got a bad injury and eventually turned up at ours after a spell at Stevenage.

One other thing - for a fairly small bloke he's excellent in the air.

You do seem to be collecting ex-Dale defenders. A 5-3-2 formation with McGahey, McArdle and Kgosi flanked by wing backs would be half-decent (the other two have pace, so Rory can concentrate on Heading and Hoofing it).

Sounds like he'd been a solid signing.

I'd love to see McGahey actually play at CB, never saw that last season. Keeping McArdle as faraway from the first team would be nice too.

I am just a little amazed to read him described as 'one of the most naturally talented footballers we've had in recent years'. I can't believe that any player who is that size, plays his position and has his attributes can fit that description. Those must have been lean footballing years despite the promotions.

Unless he has some genetic reason a professional footballer shouldn't be that large. He runs around for 90 minutes on a Saturday and trains all week. I wonder what his diet is like.

Well done on the promotion.

Linked with signing Blair Turgott today, would've been happy with this had we not got promoted, however I'd like to think we could get better having made the step up.

Certainly played his part in our memorable 2012/2013 season!

Paul Digby set to leave us and sign for Stevenage apparently. Under contract so not sure if fee involved. Decent, versatile player, bit of a shame to lose him imo.

That would make it 14 players gone from the squad that we ended last season with, which is quite a lot given we did well. Very young squad as things stand, especially as we could be losing one or two more.

Big week coming up for a few clubs. Players’ contracts finish after today. I’d think a few are already lined up waiting to be announced now their wages won’t need to be paid for so long - for those tight fisted amongst us.

Think you paid us £50.000 for him so I bet you at least want to recoup that.

Decent player to have in the squad to be fair.

You could have just cut out the flannel and included this line.

Still hurts does not it ?!

Why would it hurt? I couldn't care less how we are doing compared to Tranmere.

Been told Lee Angol met with Ross Embleton today, if they decide he is a good fit and terms can be agreed I'd expect him to sign for us next week, ready for our first friendly at Harlow on Saturday.

Seems like a good player, but isn't consistent enough and may have one or two personal issues.

Strange, your stalking of our ex-players suggests otherwise.

Good luck in the basement.

Okay yes so I have been stalking one of your players now. There was a transfer and this is called THE LEAGUE TWO TRANSFER THREAD.

Forget what I said about congratulations on your promotion. You Tranmere fans and your swa swa this, your swa swa that. Tell you what, I would love it if you lot came straight back down, honestly would love it.

P.s. I am not rattled at all by your obvious wind up attempts!! Enjoy replacing your overweight defenders

The club is an absolute joke if we lose Digby to Stevenage.

Why don't we just come out and say we are aiming for relegation and going back to Non-league!!

It's a joke at present Vince seems to have abandoned the club!!

Came here for boring homeowner History teacher Stringy.

Stayed for the return of sexually frustrated angsty 2010 checkered shirt wearing Stringy.

Welcome back.

Genuinely getting a bit concerned for you lot. Could be in for a tough season next season.

Our fans have been wanting Jones for a while now, seemed to be based on him scoring a decent header from a corner for Grimsby two years ago!

He was decent for us. Should never have been sold by Russell Slade. I wouldn't want him now as his career has gone down the pan a bit since leaving. He had a few months with us when he looked like a top L2 player though.
