Steven Pressley has confirmed that Nathan Thomas will join tomorrow on a season long loan.

Our best signing of the summer so far. He was superb for us back end of last season.

Fantastic signing, hope he does the bizz for Carlisle, when he is on his game he's untouchable.

Not sure I totally agree. I think he struggled a bit with the step up from under 23s football. In particular, he often ran forward and then passed sideways as if he did not know what to do with the ball. However, under the encouragement of Carey he did improve and was shooting a bit by the end. Assuming he has improved his positional play, I think there is a player there, but would be more confident at league two. Squad player for you, I’d suspect but he needs to be more confident in himself.

Just seem to remember him being a bit one footed and not really offering much in the game. Suppose he could be ok given a run of games. Seemed to remember him winning a penalty or two before his injury. I was next to him at Gillingham actually in the stands, final game of the season.

I remember when we signed him back in 2014 or whenever it was. Decent player, just had a bit of an attitude problem. Liked a drink. Although he could of matured now! Wouldn’t of minded him here. Pacey.

I hope he loses all of his boots in one of those floods they get up there. Probably fair to say Nathan has had an inconsistent career!

The way Notts county fans described Thomas when we signed him in January I was really expecting a lazy disinterested player with no end product.

What we got was the opposite, once he got a consistent run of games in our team.

Lloyd Isgrove also in the squad...can't imagine we'd sign both so interested so see who impresses. Isgrove and Anderson on either flank sounds decent for this level though.

To be fair Anderson never set the world on fire, he was on huge wages and didn’t fit in the system that Flitcroft wanted hence he attempted to get rid, but we literally could not shift him because of his wages.

I think Flitcroft went about it wrong, although I understand why he wanted rid because Anderson would not work at RWB.

He’s basically still a really solid player at this level, suppose it’s all about what he wants wages wise if it’s worth it.

Carlisle are like a reverse Bradford

I get that.

Bradford should run away with the league leaving the rest of the league in their tracks, where as the rest of the league should run away leaving Carlisle in their tracks at the bottom.

Paul Anderson signed for us on a free towards in January of last season. (I think it was January), and had a few sub appearances for the remainder of the season. He always looked shite.

He barely played for like nearly two years, to be fair.

Nathan Thomas officially confirmed. Season long loan from Sheffield United with no recall option.

Best bit of business we’ve done so far this summer, although that’s not saying much.

Next thing I expect is Hallam Hope to be sold. More so given that Holdsworth told the press yesterday that it would take a ridiculous offer for us to allow him to leave.

Carlisle fans are starting to annoy me now. You just have to 'believe more'. Or come back when you have real problems like Bury or having Keith Curle in charge.

Agreed. Must be tough being able to sign the likes of Nicky Adams...

Anderson moves from club to club on seemingly big wages, does nothing then repeats, living off playing for Forest years ago.

Bit disappointed from our end but in the games I've seen him in he does look awfully unfit. Could just be his natural body shape I suppose...

Are most Carlisle fans as optimistic as hellogregory?

I know what you are saying, I just felt he was reasonable in his shape and defensive duties, just did not seem to know what to do go forward. If he has addressed that, there is a reasonable player there - he could pass well.

I liked Anderson although he got a fair amount of criticism. I assume based on him being dropped to the reserves that there was some kind of argument between him and Flitcroft. I speculate that it was the end of Flitcroft's first season, coupled with the change in formation that led to Anderson becoming unhappy. Flitcroft then desperately needing support from his dressing room, and Anderson not being a good cultural fit unwilling to be coached or developed for RWB made example of him.

Anderson probably should have been a bit more open-minded but you can't blame Anderson for having lost trust in Flitcroft by this point, or Flitcroft for consolidating.

Or Futcher was just being a twat again and fighting with players.

Surprised Samir Carruthers has ended up trialing somewhere...

Showed some nice touches and think he would be a good signing - certainly better than some of our other CM options currently.

That would explain why he always looked super keen when he got on for a five minute cameo, with the presumed orders to do something as no one else had for eight five minutes.

Made two massive mistakes and cost us a goal in a short 20 minute cameo. Not going to rule him out but if he wants a contract then he should need to perform better than that.
