Fuck me. We were hoping to have him back here. Gets stuck in - really stuck in. Bit rough round the edges but a fine signing.

Consider that revenge for Jerry Yates. It makes it more understandable if the delay was due to the player deciding whether he wanted to come here. HG feared some diva who didn't want to get stuck in in League 2, but I can understand him taking his time (if that's what the delay was) when faced with a choice that included returning to a club he's already played for.

Good that he gets stuck in. Sounds like the sort of player we need. We've looked noticeably lightweight in our preseason friendlies. All little nippy midfielders and cultured centre-backs, it's like Greg Abbott all over again, half expecting Chris Chantler to rock up (if you haven't heard of him, he played for us under Abbott and was the very epitome of nippy but awfully wee, opposing players could just breathe him off the ball)

Before we signed Lyden most of us fans were wanting Carroll back here.

Be warned, I reckon we could wind him up next week. It doesn’t take much.

He squared up to Mayor last season at Bury and he managed to get him sent off!

Signed Canice Carroll from Brentford on season-long loan. Thoughts Swindon fans?
Brilliant signing for you. Perfect lower league CDM. Gets stuck in and plays it simple.

Just keep him away from right back.

Sounds like just what we need. The midfield was concerning me with its lack of defence minded players. Hopefully he’s straight in the starting 11 for saturday

We've got Elliot, Branthwaite and Hayden for right-back and from Pressley's bigging up of him all summer I think we're viewing him as a defensive midfielder only.

Been told we will now sign Louis Dennis from portsmouth now the Marquis deal has been done.

We’re also looking at Louis Reed from Peterborough as well.

No idea if both deals are loans or permanent signings.

This isn't true. When I mentioned a diva that doesn't want to play for us I'm talking about the striker from the championship who we've agreed a loan for with his club about 5 weeks ago, but we're still waiting on the player to agree to come up here. Reading Pressley's words it sounds like he doesn't want to come...

Taken from News & Star yesterday:

Last month, Pressley said he had pinpointed a young Championship striker who will be their main frontman in their 2019/20 season, but former Scotland centre-half Pressley admitted he is still playing a waiting game on that particular deal.

“The latest is we are still waiting on that same player if truth be told,” he added.

“It’s like them all, there are no guarantees. The club really would like the player to come here, but the player also has to want to come here.

"We are just in a situation where we are having to wait on that.”

When's the deadline for Saturday, today isn't it? Hoping Scunthorpe don't bring anyone in last minute.

We have accepted a bid for Morgan Ferrier. There is something there to work with him, however he is an absolute twat which has and will continue to hold him back.
Not aided by his Agent I suspect, who's also a twat.

Hurst has recently said that he would like 5 more signings, but realistically thinks 3. I think he is interested in the loan market.
Long as it's not before Saturday. We tend to get damaged at your place.

Registration for the next game is usually before noon the day before.

I was told by someone who works at the club. I think you offered a deal to Brad Halliday too.
Interesting. Both players that are in areas we're looking to strengthen so it stacks up.

If you sign Reed -- That will be a "Perfect Day "

Signed Canice Carroll from Brentford on season-long loan. Thoughts Swindon fans?

I liked him. He played one game at right back at home to Crawley and was abysmal. After that he was switched to Centre midfield and was a more than handy defensive midfielder. He does the dark arts very well and I wouldn't have been unhappy to have had him back.

Good signing for Carlisle.

Yeah meant for Saturday.

From the EFL website:
43.8 Subject to Regulations 43.2, 43.3 and 57, a Player will only be eligible to play in a match organised by The League if the appropriate forms for his registration or the transfer of his registration (including, for the avoidance of doubt, Temporary Loan Transfers) are:

43.8.1 submitted (in such manner as the League shall specify from time to time) to and received by The League by 12.00 noon on the day prior to the date of such match; and

43.8.2 confirmed by the League to be in order.

Have to say it's a really good feeling and makes a really nice change to make a signing that isn't laughed at and mocked by the rest of the league.

Gavin Reilly confirmed.

All trialists let go.
Good signing.

I like Reilly. He's a good finisher & has good movement. Unfortunately for him he just couldn't get a run of games as the manager would chop & change formations and players at the time. He also had barely any service from a bad midfield which didn't help.

I fancy him to score 15+ next season, hopefully (like Bennett at Swindon) he gets some form together and comes back to us a better player

Gassy, I know that we have been trying to sign Bennett permanently but I read he has been good for you in pre-season and Coughlan may now keep him.

Have you heard anything your end?
