They pretty much said the same last season. We were hopeful of getting him back right until 11pm on deadline day, then they ended up keeping him for the season. That was in the championship so I’d say they’ll be even more likely to keep him being in League 1.
So, in other words, they’re being cuntish for the sake of it.

Not sure why we need another right back when we have 3 already at the club.
I am surprised that Adams has not dipped into our periphery players like Riley. So maybe he is not going to you? I know nothing, i am just guessing.

Thanks Millerbri.

Hopefully we'll be able to get him back on loan again. It could be that they are looking to extend his contract before sending him back on loan?

Might be true, we do have another 1 year option on his current contract.

So, in other words, they’re being cuntish for the sake of it.

That's not Warne's style TBH, he's a very decent bloke, not to mention a mate of Wellens.
.
He was recalled from Carlisle last year because we only had Michael Smith and Youth team lads fit.

In the Championship we only ever played 1 up front or we were totally over run in midfield.

Yates was originally recalled as cover until we signed another striker.
But the window closed before we got one, So Yates was needed for the bench.

If we had been successful in signing another decent forward, he would have gone back to Carlisle with Warne's blessing.

It's a shame for the lad in both instances at Carlisle and at Swindon, but at the end of the day it's Rotherham that pay his wages. (minus contributions obviously)

His dull boring monotone voice is just how I imagine The_Viking_Magpie to sound which may be why I associate it with a twat to be fair.

Interesting point. I'd have had VM down as sounding more like Jon Richardson, but now you say it.....

I don't want to go all 'Can Doyle flourish in Bradford's style of play' but would Yates be suited to the way Northampton welly the ball from back to front as high and hard as possible?

Just checked back for you.

After returning from Carlisle he was included in all the first team squads for the first 13 games.

He started 3 and was subbed in all 3 games.

He was a used sub in 4 games and unused in 6 games.

His last start was a 6 - 1 defeat away at Derby where Yates and Jon Taylor squared up to one another on the pitch.

He was never included in any match day squad from that point on 23rd March and therefore missed 7 matches.

Taylor continued to play so it would seem that our management held Jerry more responsible?

They had to change the flight path of the aircraft over Brisbane Road on Tuesday because we were playing...:woo:

We've been linked to signing John Akinde from Lincoln along with Gillingham - Looks like twitter whispers from the Lincoln end only though, I've heard nothing.

Infact I was under the impression that we was trying to a youngster on loan from a Premier League side as our Alabi replacement.

I think there's some merit in getting a right back.

Not a massive criticism of these three as they are not our worst performers, but I see three right backs with glaring weaknesses. White seems prone to muscle injuries since his leg break. Clarke's positioning is poor (although can defend and will be a decent defender one day). Gordon can't defend although seems okay a little further forward.

If we do get a right back, I'd probably move on Gordon and Clarke and try to work on getting White back to his peak as he has the most quality.

Centre back, midfield and competition for Benning are most pressing though.

Salford are after John Akinde again from us. Nearly happened in the summer but Cowley couldn't get another striker in. Also interesting a couple of southern L2 Clubs closer to home.

Ahem...

Sounds like Gillingham have him, though. Off the back of Evans trying to convince everyone he’s got the smallest budget in L1!

We've signed 19 year old Idris El Mizouni on loan from Ipswich. Highly rated at Portman road and has a full cap for Tunisia so looks a half decent signing.

Bet it's pretty low though? I'm not sure if he's doing a good enough job with what he's got at Gillingham but I remember him doing really well with Crawley before the money came in.

He's a pretty good manager, just a knobhead.

I'm guessing it's not as low as Accy, AFCW, Rochdale, Tranmere, Southend, Burton and Wycombe. It'll not be top end but I bet it's about there or thereabouts with where they are in the table at the minute.

Last week he said Scally sanctioned a big signing for him but he (Evans) rejected the move yet yesterday he was moaning about budgets. Don't get me wrong, he'll just be playing the game ahead of transfers but he's got to at least make it a little plausible!

Carlisle Uniteds answer to fighting a relegation battle is to sign relegation specialist Lewis Alessandra, released by Morecambe yesterday.

If ever there was a message that the club aren’t actually that bothered about preserving their football league status, this is it.

Alessandra isn't that bad a player he’s just a Jonah, York, Pools, Notts in his last threee seasons, smart move by Morecambe, passing the cursed player onto their rivals.

Two loan signings today, winger Rob Hall from Oxford and goalkeeper Conrad Logan on loan from Mansfield.

Buzzing about Logan, we badly needed an experienced, quality keeper.

He’s completely the wrong player for a team like FGR.

Good shot stopper, very much overweight which can affect his ability at times and hates playing it short, which is incredibly frustrating.

Logan is a big old unit but at this level is a decent keeper. Can he play with the ball at his feet thought?

It's all very well being good with your feet, we keep getting young sweeper keepers on loan who are great with their feet, but if you keep letting soft goals in it means nothing. Main priority was someone experienced who can marshal the defence and keep the ball out the net.

Conrad is prone (more so than the average L2 keeper) for a disastrous error.

He’s the sort of goalkeeper that will pull off two amazing saves in the first half, then accidentally drop it in the second and give a goal away, he got unfairly criticised at times but our defence last season found it really hard with him in the net after Bobby got injured.

Until they started haemorrhaging high-earning players over the past week, the Mudrats had a top-6 wage bill.

Yep, less fannying around and more communicating with the defence which he should have the confidence to do, then they might get back to being parsimonious again.

Logan is better than our fans give him credit for. He can't catch crosses or play out from the back, so don't ask him to, and that way you'll have a good keeper.
