Odin Bailey makes it a hattrick of loan signings today.

19 year old AM/winger from Birmingham.

Carlisle Uniteds answer to fighting a relegation battle is to sign relegation specialist Lewis Alessandra, released by Morecambe yesterday.

If ever there was a message that the club aren’t actually that bothered about preserving their football league status, this is it.

Another player that always seems to play well against us, he looked very decent at Plymouth and you'd have thought his career would have gone better than this. If his career has been hampered by the teams he's played in then we're not going to be any better a match for him.

Mbulu released after a pretty terrible couple of months. Not sure how long his contract was but I assume we were waiting to see if Michael Nottingham could fill the gap, and he’s looked pretty good so far.

Logan is better than our fans give him credit for. He can't catch crosses or play out from the back, so don't ask him to, and that way you'll have a good keeper.

Likes a argument with his defence too, don’t forget.

I think he’s a below average L2 goalkeeper if I round it all up.

I think his weight clouds people's judgement. He is a decent traditional goalkeeper.

I just recall him from our behind goal go pro literally having a rage when the goals went in! Even though he was at fault for the 2nd!

For us he complemented Reid and helped him get his twenty for the season - not least through the penalties the former won and the latter slotted home.

I thought before Xmas when Morecambe came down he was okay, certainly not their worst attacker. So surprised he has moved on. Can only assume there has been a behind the scenes clash with Adams. He might have worked well with Hope. Ho hum.

Apparently the second highest assister in L2 last decade, behind Jamie Devitt though I imagine a good part of that is that like Devitt he hasn't had much opportunity to step up to L1.

People keep saying Logan's overweight, but watching the training clips on our twitter today he looks pretty agile to me? He's no Jon Parkin

Christ, I know it’s standard to want to avoid even considering any criticism of a new signing but he’s definitely quite comfortably overweight, to the point where it’s a bit of a joke for a professional footballer quite frankly.

I hope he does well for you like, but yeah don’t expect him to consistently play it short - he loves a massive hoof.

ManYoo have recalled Tanner from Morecambe and then immediately loaned him out to Salford

:pond:

Tanner being recalled has been on the cards all month as a load of championships sides want him when his contract expires in the summer, to loan him to Salford is a massive kick in the teeth though. We signed a lad from Burnley just in case this happened so we'll be fine, he's equally as good.

Not fussed about Alessandra leaving, he's not done anything for us as of note since mid-september. Busy player but then does nothing with it. 1 step forward 2 steps back kind of player. Derek will have seen it as an easy wage to get rid of and hopefully get someone else in. We badly need another striker.

The weight doesn’t seem to to affect his diving abilities which are solid but maybe it has something to do with the fact he’s scared shitless to leave his line at all?

His contract was up at the end of the month anyway, so only terminated a week early.

Think the combination of bringing Nottingham in and Nolan being back within the next 3 weeks probably triggered the decision, plus he hasn't played since Salford on boxing Day.

Would still like to see another defender brought in as cover and possibly another striker as Porter hasn't made an appearance on the bench in weeks now.

I just think if you stop crosses coming in, don't expect him to sweep and tell the defenders to head anything in any position you can remove those weaknesses then you've got an excellent shot stopper with a huge frame. We won't play that way so I agree it's right to move him on.

Rumours of Joe Ledley signing next week on a pay as you play deal. Lives locally and has been training with us for a few weeks. Could do a job for us for sure. He's still harbouring ambitions to get back into the Wales squad for the Euros so I guess his legs haven't gone quite yet.

Quality player, especially at this level. Cracking beard as well.

Is Wilfred Bony still training with you?

I don't think Mbulu was that bad. Let's remember, he's still quite young and has barely played any senior football in his career. Ok, he had a trial period in the summer, but we chose not to sign him.

He was then brought back in a "we're kinda desperate" move and thrown straight in. No easing in, simply "here's an FA Cup 1st round game in your 2nd full start". 1st league start was against the monsters at Northampton where the entire team was woeful. Came back with 3 games where we conceded 1 goal. Then he doesn't play for a month and in his first game back, he's pretty bad and that's it.

Doesn't feel like we gave the lad a fair shake to be honest, didn't give him much chance to succeed or learn from his mistakes. Not easy coming in mid-season and being expected to hit the ground running in a promotion chasing side. Had it been 12 months ago, I think they would have kept him a bit longer. But in our current situation, I do agree we needed better and Nottingham has looked very promising in that regard so far.

I don't disagree with the decision to get rid of Mbulu, I just think it's harsh to say he was terrible and that he wasn't given much chance to learn, develop and succeed. Imagine if we got rid of every player after 7 games. Hope he finds a decent landing spot.

Two loan signings today, winger Rob Hall from Oxford and goalkeeper Conrad Logan on loan from Mansfield.

Buzzing about Logan, we badly needed an experienced, quality keeper.

We've signed Jordan Gabriel who is a RB from Nottingham Forest. We don't have a fit RB so this makes sense. Will probably start tomorrow if he's registered in time

Christ, that's one of the worst put together video's I've seen from an EFL club in the last couple of years.

Logan was one hell of a keeper for us a few years ago, hope he does well for you.

If there are any Cambridge fans on here: Good luck with Victor, he was not good at all. He runs a lot & I can't fault his effort, but he just was not good enough for L1 football at all. L2 might be his level, but I'm not sure - happy to be proved wrong though.

He was on trial with us last week but we decided to look elsewhere, seems like he has featured a couple of times for them this season in the cups.

Now signed for Morecambe. He's a head it and kick type defender, not really suited to us as he's pretty useless with the ball. Also gets far too tight to attackers and gives away fouls.

A bidding war has begun for Derby's Jayden Bogle after Brighton bid 8.5 million for him. What does this have to do with L2 I hear you ask?

Well, Derby signed him from us as a kid and we have a % sell on so any income would be mighty handy for any potential striker purchase. We also sold a 16 yr old Markus Ifil to Brighton for 250k reportedly so hopefully the cash is there for that elusive striker we now need!
