"Younger joined St Patrick's Athletic on loan in the Irish Premier Division shortly before lockdown.

He made two eventful appearances for the club - sent off on his debut, knocked out in his second match - before returning to England."

Reckon we are trying to get some kids in to pad our the squad and increase our quota of under-21s? Do we even have anyone that's u21 other than Penfold?

Just imagine if Mark Palios, the kind, caring, compassionate, fiercely loyal demi-god who has the best interests of everybody but himself at heart, was still the chairman of the FA. Football would be in such a better place.

It certainly would. He would do a far better job than the faceless twats who are currently in charge and a Hell of a better job than (P)rick Parry at the EFL, but there again a half witted aardvaak with a coke habit could do a better job than Parry.

Paul Farman, goalkeeper signs from Stevenage.

Released by a team that until last week thought they were going down to the conference doesn't bode well, but then spent 6 years at Lincoln prior to that so maybe Lincoln fans are able to say positive things about him.

Joe Fryer remains at the club on trial so we're open to the possibility of him coming back, not sure what it was about Farman that leapt out at us given we've already got one keeper contracted and a former loanee on trial but there you have it.

There’s plenty better than Farman but he’s not a bad signing.

Used to be good for a clanger every three or four games at Lincoln, did Farman.

Holdsworth signed him for us back in 2011 I think it was, initially on loan.

He struggled to make the step up to L2 footy with us IMO, which is why Cowley dropped him a couple of times and then got rid. Decent shot stopper, hell of a kick on him from dead ball situations, doesn't like coming for crosses, bit indecisive at times and drops the odd clanger like most lower league GK's but a nice guy, will be out and about in the community and one who'll play through the pain barrier (unless it's for a drinks break... ;) ). Not one of these who'll escape into the treatment room at the first opportunity.

Probably a bottom third of L2 signing.

Maybe the kick was what swung it; Chris Beech been has been talking up the fact that Magnus Norman can throw the ball from his goal area into the attacking third, and we released some footage of a training session and indeed he can.

He wasn’t released by Stevenage was he? I thought they offered him new terms and he opted to move on.

ah fair enough...

I'm fairly certain btw that Fryer is still contracted to Middlesbrough, and the reason for him being on trial with a view to a loan is his long injury.

We have just announced the signings of Lee O'Connor on a season long loan from Celtic and Paul Lewis who was released by Cambridge United.

Lee O'Connor is a much needed right back and he was named ROI U21 player of the year last season so an exciting prospect. Paul Lewis a local lad but maybe some Cambridge fans can shed some light on him?

Magnus Norman was given a 2 year deal so I’d expect him to be number 1 to start with. Farnam only on a 1 year deal will hopefully push him for that spot.

Farman always looked good against us, would have taken him here. Someone leaving Stevenage doesn't necessarily make them a poor player, we got Chris Stokes back off them in January and he's widely regarded as one of the best left backs at this level.

Carlisle building a proper decent semi pro squad btw.

O'Connor has already had a full international call up, so must have something about him.

Fixed your post for you.

He won’t be as good as Glennon though obviously.

Ashley Smith-Brown isn’t great. Struggled in L1 and I kept an eye on him at Oldham last season and he hardly featured. Says something when he hasn’t wound up at Morecambe, Derek Adams loves signing a former player that he’s worked with.

Sort of player that will be spending the rest of his career bouncing around in the depths of non-league. You can do better.
Oh yeah, Ashley Smith-Brown, just sort of disappeared.

Here's a news article that's probably unrelated. Probably. Maybe.
