He's an England u15 & u16, debuted at a younger age than Ampadu and also wanted by both Chelsea & Liverpool.Who to believe...

Ethan went for way over 1m at the tribunal - Over double in fact if you include appearences.
Ethan Ampadu: Exeter City 'disappointed' by Chelsea tribunal ruling
Exeter City say they are "disappointed for football" as a tribunal orders Chelsea to pay them up to £2.5m for Ethan Ampadu.www.bbc.co.uk
The club have signalled they are happy with the transfer, whereas they were massively disappointed with Ethan's tribunal and the money we got. If it was anything under £1m, the club would have happily taken it to tribunal again.
We also sold Jay Stansfield to Fulfham where the press conference was 'Reluctantly' accepted the bid. The complete opposite to our response to Aston Villa, where it appears they have been fair and not squabbled over what is small change to them.
Feel free to check our end of year accounts and see who's right, but the consensus on Social Media is it's around £1-1.5m with 15% sell on and £175k per 15 appearances, up to a maximum of 45.

Based on all the public info, the other Exeter's posters guesses (They're all guessed as is mine - It's undisclosed) is way off.
Got another 4 million coming in from the pending Ollie Watkins saleAll this incoming transfer money and you’re still floundering in the basement.
Who’s trousering it all?

Ah, so you've based it on how the board seem to feel about it. Gotcha.
If the money is there to get both he might move on Trickett-Smith, Hurst or someone like that to free up the over 21 place? I assume if they are loaned out you can bring one in their place.
We have four wingers and if Maynard did sign we’d have four strikers so not sure where he’d fit in... although we would have a lot of condensed games this season so who knows?!
If Maynard has been at Vale a couple of times this week already I assume though he is the main target and Hope is being pursued as an alternative if it falls through... although Askey did mention a couple of weeks ago about a player under contract that has become available didn’t he?
Would it not be sensible at some point to put a chunk of that money into assembling a League One standard squad and getting promoted? You've been falling short of promotion so consistently these last few years, if you just bit the bullet and did what it took to get promoted would that not be better for the club financially in the long run?Transfer cash gets split 3 ways. A third into our academy, a third into playing our budget, split over 3 years, and a third into infrastructure.
I'm basing it on the public info we had of what clubs were after him, his international appearances, other sales we've done similar to this in the past and his talent of watching him play.
Yes, it's a guess - It's undisclosed. I made that pretty clear in my original post. Why are you trying to make yourself look a tit? This is a thread about transfer rumours and confirmed. I simply posted transfer news, and my guess of what the undisclosed fee was based on numerous things. Do you have nothing better to do than try to argue with people... Seriously, grow up. No wonder this forum is dying.
If you disagree, based on your overwhelming knowledge of young player sales at this level and the player in questions talent (Which is nil) then fine - But try not to talk to me if you're just tryna start an argument. Christ.
Hope's problem is he's neither a winger or a striker. He's some kind of 1930's style outside forward. Like most players he has strengths and weaknesses and overall he'd be one of the most talented players at this level, but nobody can find a position for him that doesn't leave some strengths underused, for example he's good at going past players but not overly fast. He has good positioning and reactions but not the best shot from inside the box.Cheers HG. Reading up on him have to admit he sounds on the face of it more like a typical John Askey signing than Maynard who allegedly was at the club today.
Also after Richie Bennett left we do need to get our former Carlisle quota back up.
Boo!Vale have denied interest in Hope
So port vale will have no Hope this seasonVale have denied interest in Hope
That just a conceptual statement?Vale have denied interest in Hope
Have I missed something regarding Port Vale? New owners or something like that?
It’s boom and bust. Same for Crewe. Once every 10 years or so a crop of young players comes through, club does well, said youngsters get sold, club back in the doldrums, ad infinitum.
Vale have denied interest in Hope
To be fair, we are still scarred from nearly going out of business 15 years ago so the Trust and the club are adamant that we will not do a “Salford” and pump loads of money into one season.Would it not be sensible at some point to put a chunk of that money into assembling a League One standard squad and getting promoted? Are the fan's trust allergic to spending any more than what amounts to a ninth of your transfer income (a third split over three seasons) because they think that any more than that would be boom and bust?
Seems as though they're expecting to improve as a club very gradually, but gradual improvements aren't going to bump you over the line into the automatic places in League Two.
Bless. I’ve got news for you, you’re down here on merit so you and your fans with delusions of grandeur need to get used to playing Mickey Mouse clubs every week. Enjoy.Got another 4 million coming in from the pending Ollie Watkins sale
Loosen them purse strings......Micky mouse club

It’s frustrating as we want to progress and who knows, we may have made it had the season not been curtailed. But that’s old news.
Any windfall is spread over a number of seasons so that we can have a competitive budget to work with. We should be able to make it up to L1 with this method, but we just need to not bottle it at the business end!!!
Oh, and re Chrisene’s fee, I highly doubt it’s more than £500k with add ons and a sell on.
You have never been higher than lge 1 the old 3rd division in your history. Staggering under achieversBless. I’ve got news for you, you’re down here on merit so you and your fans with delusions of grandeur need to get used to playing Mickey Mouse clubs every week. Enjoy.
Disagree on the autos part. We spent the majority of the season in the top 3 and were only 3 points off the top when the season stopped, so I wouldn’t say we were some way short at all.You may eventually win the playoffs, but seem some way short still of challenging for automatic promotion. You could possibly be getting more money for these academy players if you were a League One club as I think the tribunals will take that into account.
