Just what is slanderous or libellous?

‘Me lud, Indian Dan has called me a wrong ‘un. I demand satisfaction. Pistols at dawn!’

Maybe why he got sacked by the FA?

‘Mark Palios last night resigned as chief executive of the Football Association in the wake of allegations that he authorised the organisation's communications director to brief against England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson to prevent details of his own affair with an FA employee being published.’

I hope Mark Palios truly has Tranmere best interest at heart, because Tranmere fans are going to spot it too late if he doesn’t.

Not ever will i be a fan of Tranmere, but they have recruited well this season all be it paying top money

Like I’ve mentioned several times on here (Sorry County fans) but they were the last people to see Alan Hardy was a disaster, they probably spent £500,000+ on transfer fees alone the season they got relegated, and they didn’t click on he was a disaster until he got his knob out on Twitter.

I’m sure the Tranmere guy isn’t going to be a disaster like that, but you’ve got to keep a eye on relatively new owners whatever.

Interesting point of view. Do you know his football background by any chance?

Williams himself has turned down a move to Peterborough so hopefully he will be tearing defences apart for us again soon

I hope he stays but this smells like the work of an agent so I wouldn't be surprised to still see him go elsewhere.

Doesnt back up your remark. Why is he a wrong 'un. Thats an error of judgement. Have you never coveted others from outside your gene puddle.

He took over a club that was going nowhere but oblivion. If he had ulterior motives why put all the effort in. He could have just let it die and ridden off into the sunset with a massive amount of land to his name. He is a former player not some local businessman looking for an ego boost and a profit.

He has been the owner since 2014.

True.

Speaking for my self I do believe Palios has got the best interests of the club at heart, although I don’t think he’s doing it for nothing.

McCormack is a very good signing for Southend.

If he did not have the club at heart he would not even be here. The club was a basket case when he took over and he has not taken a salary or a dividend in his six years of ownership.

No owner is a saint, but what Palios gets out of his role is a big profile locally and the kudos that any businessman gets from charitable / community work. Plus I think he has a genuine love for the club because of what the club did for him when started his career there in the seventies.

Mark Palios has been at the helm for Rovers for 6 years now, so not exactly a new kid on the block.

Has he got everything right, during that time, probably not. However, he has built up the off-field income pre-covid, attracted external investment from Indonesia and struck gold appointing Micky Mellon as manager, while as RLC highlights, he's someone with a long history at Tranmere and seems on the same wavelength as the supporters. Ideally he'd have as much wealth as the Mansfield owners, but you can't have everything :)

Amongst all the Tranmere tears, a story that may have been missed is the fact we have actually tried to sign Omar Bogle.

Holloway has repeated claimed it’s bollocks however admitted yesterday that it was indeed true. He claims it’s now ‘unlikely’ to happen which knowing Holloway means the ‘Bogle 9’ shirts are being printed as we speak.

That’s genuinely good to hear.

One day you’ll respond to me without bringing up the M word!

We had David Ball lined up to sign From A league team Wellington. He wants to return to the Manchester area
Seems they will now not release him from his contract....Evatt said he will now move to other options.
He has already stated it will be a loan arrangement from a premier/championship team because released out of work players will not be ready for the first team until approaching christmas.

I didn't say I thought he was going. Good try though.
Tarzan, do you think the club will only bring in a new player or two if Randell leaves? Just wondering if we’re still hoping to add a couple....
