Crawley have signed Caleb Chukwuemeka. Intial season loan with an obligation to buy.

What's he like Northampton fans? I seem to recall he was good for you before you sold him to Villa.

Our forward line Saturday..

Nadersan, Nichols, Fellows, Bremang, Telford and Chukwuemeka.

The last four are Betsy signings. Nadersan was called by Betsy while on holiday to sign and Nichols has been captain this season. Someone there has been told a porky.

New poster appeared on our forum and said two new big signings which would show our intent.

First one is Tom Fellows a 19 year old highly rated striker on loan from WBA. He has appeared 6 times last season (4 league) and scored 0 goals.

Wow! As statements of intent go that one is hardly shivering me timbers. We let our top scorer leave for a rival and sign someone who has never scored. Hopefully he is better than those stats.

No idea on the second signing. Probably another highly rated academy kid.

Casey

I am sorry Casey, the second one is Caleb Chukwuemeka. He came through our youth system. Looked talented in brief moments but just seemed so lazy. Villa signed him and we were not sure why tbh, most assumed it was to make his bro happy (Carney who just signed for Chelsea, also originally from us).

I kept a slight eye on his progression, he was loaned to Livingston and the manager called him out after his first game for his lack of work rate. Dont see this at the sort of high spending, exciting signing that was promised. Id be very much underwhelmed. Always gave the impression that he thought he was the best player on the pitch, when he never was close to that.

Sorry Casey, as I just posted, think hes a bit of a dud unless he has transformed his attitude. The fact you got rid of Appiah and brought in Caleb is genuinely baffling.

Josh Coley signs a contract extension with us and we loan him straight to Harrogate! Random.

There’s a player in there, just needs games.

Morgan Roberts a winger from Banbury completes our business which I'm more than happy with. Just news of wether we've sold McKirdy to Hibs to come. Scots window open until midnight so more waiting to happen.

Only got small minutes as a young prospect at his time here. I personally wanted to see him get blooded in a bit more and get a bit more game time. He was extremely slightly built but he seemed to be decent technically. He seems to have done really well down the leagues in the brief time since we released him. Interested to see how he gets on. Would imagine he is very much a back up, seems a nice lad also.

Could be worse, our 1 loanee hasn’t played league football before.

Aye but ours was signed four hours ago and they just held off announcing it until 22:59 just so they can say they ‘snuck one over the line’

Yeah strange one that, I would have liked to keep him seeing as we are hardly flush in the striker/ACM department, and he has been playing this season.

Still, might be the making of him.

Had a couple of explosive games for us in our brief sojourn in league one, but quite anonymous when played out wide.
Got sent off on debut and a hattrick at the Franchise, before being recalled by Villa halfway through his loan to go to Derby, but don't think he got a game for them.

Think he was quite fast and tricky, but our forward line while he was with us a mixed bag. We were disappointed with the early recall, not done a great deal since leaving Rovers.

Feel like he could be anything. Most recent spell was in Cyprus.

McKirdy is supposedly flying back from Edinburgh after the move collapsed. Bet he's not a happy bunny!

Absolutely. Initial loan with an option to buy is a great deal for us. This could be the catalyst to kick start our season now.
I doubt many of us want to see him go, but both teams appear to have been adult about it. I am guessing a fee has been agreed in principle to avoid a compo tribunal. So we get a bit of money and you get a proven goal scorer. Get the ball in the box and he’ll score for you. He also is pretty good at link play on the ground so may help your other strikers. He’s not too quick and not great in the air, but he has a lot of other pluses. I wish Jeffers well.

So we managed to sign not one but two strikers last night! Only problem is they are both youngsters on loan! Though with the amount of chances we create hopefully one knows where the net is otherwise it will be a long season. Could go either way them two.

As for Hunt was obviously very good for us during early season last year when the whole team looked decent, feel he was one of the players who disappeared during our bad run though. Obviously Hurst likes him enough to offer 3 years, but feel if the rumours of 6 figure fee is true, that the money could have been better used elsewhere. We shall see, and hopefully we have the early season Hunt.

Oh and because we have Glennon this season I completely forgot how many goals Waterfall got last season from Hunts set prices, it seemed most weeks it was Hunt corner, Waterfall goal, with Glennon as well most sides won't want to be giving us many set prices now

Tried to sign some young lad on loan but Charlton backed out at 22:59, so we are very light upfront and at CB now. Bit of a shambles. Absolutely no excuse we are not very good at dayline day.

I bet we do actually sign Theo Robinson now

He was sold, Wish Harry all the best but hopefully we have come out of this smelling of roses due to the fact that his replacement, Jephcott, is a proven League 1 goalscorer whereas McKirdy may turn ot to be, given his previous record, a 1 season wonder

Good window for us everything considered. I was always of the opinion McKirdy and Reed should be sold ahead of them running their contracts down. Pleased Reed has stayed - finding his form slowly now. Impressed we’ve signed the vast majority of players on perms instead of loans - Jephcott is a loan but with option to buy.

Tbh, we’ve no excuse now for not climbing up the league - proper RB, proven goalscorer and the likes of Darcy, Clayton, Khan and Wakeling looking the real deal.

Still not sure on Lindsey, though.

So our business is over for the summer.

Mostly young kids in, some of them (Balagizi and Omole for sure) look pretty good, some not so.

Lots of seasoned, experienced pros out (Morris, Appiah ,some replacements in).

I think we are quite a bit weaker than the summer and are really going to struggle. For a start, wagmi did that poll asking where we need a statement signing and the fans all said midfield. We never did get another midfielder in.

The worst bit of business in the division was letting our (returning from injury) top scorer go to a relegation rival. When both clubs are desperate for goals. Weaken yourself while strengthening them. Madness!
