One of my favourite Rovers players of all time...played on the left side of defence when he was with us first time, very young and raw but seemed to have a wise head on his shoulders, very consistent in a positive way...came back for a second spell, had slowed down a bit by then and moved to the centre of defence, still a sound and reliable player, a good leader on the pitch. I've always hoped that he might return to the club in some role, possibly as a coach if that is where he wants to go in future, a popular figure with our fans.

If he’s over his injuries he should do well for you. Was top class for us in L2, everything you want in a modern day wing back, pace, skill, can drift past opponents get good crosses/cut backs in and scores a few as well.

Wouldn’t know - I’m not a Hartlepool fan, despite the monkey thing. But would’ve liked us to go for Umerah, despite the fact it sounded like he went off the boil towards the end of the season.

Individually yep, however as your MO is currently get up the divisions as fast as possible you have to say that collectively it failed in 21/22. I know that's harsh because fine margins and all that but that is ultimately the long and short of it for me. I agree with Indian Dan's comment about the Wrexham transfer policy being about the here and now, which is absolutely fine. I'm not knocking that. It worked a treat last season but the thing that I find a little off is for all the talk about community and securing the long term future of the club and for all the ingenuity of the publicity that the two Ryans have implemented, the transfer market movement just seems a little basic and obvious. There's no real plan there it seems and it doesn't really sit with the rest of the work going on at the club from what I've seen. I reckon this'll be fine at this level, but you're potentially gonna face some hefty pay offs in L1 on top of having to improve your squad which could hamper progress. I think your playing recruitment will need to be a bit cannier when you're up there to be able to compete at the top end. Unless I'm missing things, in which case happy to be put right on this.

I think Wrexham’s recruitment has been very good. As a supporter of a team with a big budget (obviously not as big as them) I’m envious of their recruitment.

We pipped them to the title but they had a better squad than us but that season we were just a slightly better collective.

I expect them to win this league this upcoming season.

He wasn’t as bad as some fans from previous clubs had warned us about. Has pace, can carry the ball out from the back and occasionally will pick a decent long range pass. Agree with RLC about lack of concentration, there seemed to be a lapse most games.

Wilson was one of the best players in the FGR promotion team, seemed to have improved from his loan spell with Rovers, which in itself was promising. Got a lot of pace and a good attacking full-back, though the better all-round player, I’d suggest JDC might be marginally the better defender.

Definitely a good signing for Bradford. He is fast from a standing start but at 5'8" he can be bullied off the ball. He made it clear he was looking for a L1 side but I suppose in the end the amount Bradford are prepared to pay him for a 3 year contract was just too much for him to turn down.

I would be happy with Lee O'Connor at right back to free up a midfield role for somebody more attack minded. No point crying about spilt milk.
