Luke Armstrong always seemed a decent goalscorer at Harrogate and Hartlepool but his overall game wasn't great. I presume he isn't getting the goalscoring chances at Carlisle since he joined?

He’s had chances but he wastes them. His confidence isn’t very high and I think he’s quite a mentally weak footballer.

I suspect he’s best suited playing for a small club with smaller crowds where expectations aren’t high. That’s not me saying we’re a massive club or anything like that, just think there’s a bit less pressure playing for a Harrogate with the greatest respect.

I watch him play for us and he looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

We had a five trialists playing in our Lancashire Cup final today, the two on the back left and the three bending down. Not sure if anyone recognises them. They look young so it is a stretch.

Are we sure the 'keeper isn't Kai Havertz?

Big words from someone expecting their team to go down again this season. Armstrong scored 16 for us in his last full seasons but had his head turned by the bright lights of Holywood. When that fell through he acted like a prima donna and refused to play. He hasn't got the temperament or work ethic to be an asset for any club. He is a waste of a pair of boots.

Not my expectations, the clubs, obviously.

Romaine Sawyers has been at a few of our games recently he was quality here in League one and has played in the championship since then.
Still be class at this level I reckon if we could get him to drop to League 2.

AFCW have signed him on a one month deal. Hopefully he'll sign up for longer if it's going well.

Far too good for this level if he's anywhere near what he was

Probably the best player I've seen in a Walsall shirt. Pure sex.

That was a decade ago though.

Don't really see how he fits the AFCW style of play either, may have to change to see the best out of him.

We actually play passing football. We didn't against you for whatever reason. Mostly cos you stopped us so we went long. He should be fine.

One mentioned on our forum is a rumour that we are in for Paul Mullin, with Wrexham likely to recruit a striker in January and him being fairly out of favour and not starting many games this season.

Would be a surprise one that and big money if there was truth in it.

Never happening, I don't think he will ever leave now. Has 2.5 years left on his deal and is on money to make your eyes water. We've a lovely Mo Faal on offer if you'd prefer that.

We are signing that young French keeper who was on loan at Donny last season, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name.

Injured and our backup keeper is injured as well. Currently got a 57 year old Mark Howard in net.
Fond memories of Dobra robbing Howard of the ball in that 2-0 at our place. Surprised he's still playing! Have you still got Christian Dibbles number?

Don't see it myself especially with the players we currently have up front, the assumption is we will replace Hackford who hasn't looked great and need a striker in the Stockley mould as back up/competition.

Money wouldn't be a major issue, Mullins reported wage is less than Byers rumoured wage but we might look for a big name striker like we did with Lee Hughes in 2013 to ensure we get over the line. We have had two disastrous January windows under Flitcroft and can't see us letting that happen again, especially with the financial backing we now have.

Would be a massive shock as I don't think he's done with us yet despite this season not really sparking for him yet.

You can never say no in football but of all the players who might leave on January or the summer I wouldn't expect Mulls to be one of them. Would also need a fairly hefty transfer fee.
