I haven't even been thinking about relegation since that fans forum, what I've seen is the outside chance of automatic promotion if we win every remaining game which would have us finish on 84 points and that would at least guarantee us a play off spot surely.

With these new signings coming in now we'll be set up pretty nicely for L1 if we are to get promoted.

Carlisle sure does have some strong drugs available.

Signed Brooklyn Ilunga from MK Dons, wing back. Probably means Danny Imray moving onto bigger and better things as his ability demands, glad we helped him on his way.

Managing to get fees for all our players at the moment. Lovely stuff.

Unlike Leigh and Wearne, this guy is only a bit shit and is an academy lad so that upgrades him to okay.

For our owners that is a scathing goodbye message for Dan. Even the short term loanees normally get more love than that.

I reckon they probably feel like they need to justify it and the only way is to do that factually. Given how good he's been it'd be really interesting to know what he was asking for that we weren't going to match

Read between the lines indeed. Minimal subtlety.

Sounds like the reported overinflated fee could be true. Good work by the club for someone who wants to leave and earn more money elsewhere.

I don’t think there’s anything particularly controversial about it, just pretty direct and transparent. I don’t think it paints Crowley in a negative light either - he’s a mercenary and he’s entitled to be and we’re entitled not to like him because of it (I think it’s interesting he felt like MK would give him more than he’d get in the summer as a free agent - which probably proves he’s getting a fair whack).

Probably the only part of note is stating that we have enough already to replace him - I like Grant and Edwards don’t get me wrong but it’s obviously a real punt on Jarvis and Whitaker being good enough straight away. Maybe we’ll just strengthen in other areas (i.e. please sign a striker to wreak havoc with the Gambian Prince)

It’s not so much what they’ve said as what they didn’t say. Connell Rawlinson pretty much got a eulogy.

Crowley saying he’s been communicating with MK since the last window is funny as well. Obviously everyone knows that, but it’s not the part you say out loud!

Picking one name rather proves my point. No doubt OIL MONEY has pervaded your academy as well anyway.
It's not oil money...

But the name I picked out was the name of the player we've just sold and were talking about. Seems very relevant to bring up the fact that we aren't just getting decent wedges for our flops, but our youth talent too.

Bromley will have paid a kings ransom for Ilunga I’m sure.

Genuine question because I’m baffled by tapping up laws - still can’t get my head around the modern thing of premier league teams agreeing personal terms before fees but…are MK allowed to do that?

Absolutely not without the club’s permission. Which is why players say things like ‘I’ve known of the interest for a while’ - he’s not the sharpest, I don’t think.

Mk doing that classic thing of teams with loads of money to burn. Just buy the best players in the league without any idea of how they will integrate into a team. Crowley seems the ultimate 'luxury' player, not really a team man from what I can see. The best team in the league currently, Walsall, identified what they needed in their team and spent or loaned wisely. On a bigger budget, we've tried to do the same and have been relatively successful so far. Throwing a load of cash and hoping that a team comes together isn't always the answer.

This might work out because he's clearly a talented player but I remain unconvinced that he is the answer.

We have Nemane on the right hand side who he’s come out and said he has a really good relationship with and a position we’ve been struggling with that he slots right into. Unlike Kelly, Crowley seems to have a head start already.
