“A Kuwait-based consortium working across banking, investment, automotive and real estate and the Alghanim family operates the football team, Kuwait SC.”
So indirect oil money.

Is Cowley going to take Kelly's place?

Can we have Kelly back please? Our corners free kicks (and general play) have been poor this season and he is the one player we sold in the summer that is a noticeable loss.

Casey
Ironically Kelly has been quite disappointing. But no, get lost.

Nah, I'd imagine Crowley will play in front of Kelly myself.

We've signed right back/right wing-back Elicha Ahui from sister club Drogheda United, and sent him back out on loan there.

Looks like forward planning for next season already, cover or ready-made replacement for Connor Barrett.

Our recruitment is so many levels ahead of where it was a couple years ago when we had coaches signing players based off YouTube livestreams.

Drogs signed him from us in the summer.

Andy Dallas and Neo Eccleston have gone back to their parent clubs. Hopefully making room for some better quality, you couldn't really justify extending either loan to be honest.

We have Nemane on the right hand side who he’s come out and said he has a really good relationship with and a position we’ve been struggling with that he slots right into. Unlike Kelly, Crowley seems to have a head start already.
He'll say any old shit, great club, fantastic project, love the style of play. He's got a pay rise and a shorter commute. That's the sum of it. At least he's transparent, I'll give him that.

People change jobs all of the time, usually for either better pay or prospects. Hope you didn't send Platty a snake emoji when he decided you offered him better prospects than us.
He saw his contract out though rather than agitate for a move last January.

Are you saying that Crowley and Nemane didn't have a good on the pitch relationship while with you?

They had a good on the pitch relationship, most of our attacking players did.

Crowley and Nemane at this level are a great duo to have in a purely attacking sense, no doubt about it. One significantly more effective than the other.

They did fine together but it was hardly something that couldn't be replicated. They did the ball inside the fullback as the winger cuts in. Don't get me wrong, Crowley has been great for us as was Nemane but at L2 they're not irreplaceable.

Sounds true, the thought of going to Chesterfield is enough to make anyone ill. :shifty:

(yes before anyone retorts, I know Crewe is a shithole)

That’s a sign that someone’s head has been turned.

Blackburn are fighting a losing battle to keep him. It’s inevitable.

You love to see it. If we can get the Walsall Freddie, then we've got a hell of a player.

Different player to Lowe but no-one is going to match him really.

Unbelievable if true.

He hasn’t settled at Lincoln since being recalled which is a real shame for the lad.

But, as with many players, they suit certain clubs for one reason or another & I feel Draper is exactly that for us.

He’s never going to replace Lowe, no one will, Lowe is one of the best strikers outside the Championship. But I do think Draper is the best replacement possible at Bescot.

They only had half a great relationship as well. Their relationship going back towards their own goal was a car crash (not that they were alone in that tbf).

Anyway, Legia Warsaw have enquired about Jatta. Would cost a fortune this month… but how are we out here maybe selling players to Legia Warsaw!?! Richard Montague supremacy.

Montague’s just showboating now, selling our best players to prove he can replace them with someone even better every time - he’s flipping Will Jarvis for £3m next January and we’re building some indoor padel ball courts

In general I am happy for the club to take a long term approach when it comes to selling players, and if the deal is good then in most cases absolutely go for it, but losing Jatta this month without bringing in at least two strikers would be a difficult decision for me to defend.

No idea how reliable this site is or not but one for us, Colchester and Wimbledon. I’d be shocked if we sign anyone else now as our squad is full to the brim as is unless we were planning on loaning him straight back out.

We dont play with wingers so would be an odd one, whilst sure we can match all financially I imagine location plays against us but would be an odd one.

We have signed midfielder, Tommy Backwell, on loan from Bristol City for the rest of the season - nope, me neither.

We're also set to sign Manchester United u21s winger, Ethan Williams, on loan later today. Get ready for your "big futures", "exciting signing", etc...

Yes, losing Jatta in this window is pretty much giving up on promotion this season and banking the cash for a summer rebuild.

Richard Montague gets quite a bit of stick on our forum and I really don't know why. Our recruitment has about a 70% hit rate, not just players doing a decent job for us but players capable of going up a division or two.
I'd be worried if he gets poached because it takes a bit more than pure stats to be right as often as he is.

We’ve sold Harrison Neal to Fleetwood which is absolutely fantastic. Another serial loser gone from the club.
