Tom Pett is on his way to Oldham on loan for the rest of the season.

He's on a League 1 wage and isn't going to get a starting place. His missus (a Man Utd Women's player) is pregnant and he's from up that way. To be honest, I can't believe he started this season with us.

Wish him all the best, his signing changed our season around last season.
I liked Pett, he wasn't the most pacey of midfield players but technically he was pretty sound. A really tidy player.

We've announced some left back called Jack Sparkes. He's been operating in League One but other than that I know nothing about him

I think we're pushing the 'highly rated' line at 24 years old!

He was pretty much signing for us last summer until Portsmouth stepped in, which from memory Exeter fans were surprised he got such a good move to them because I got the impression he's got a good cross but isn't a great defender - probably proved by Posh seemingly choosing to rebuild their defence mid-season (denzel ecfc, HutchECFC will be able to give you more).

Yeah some of our fans have been a bit over the top about accusing Lincoln of playing games to try and incite a bidding war lol .
I think it's what you said you need to bring more players in before anyone goes out.
You're always gonna get a few of them fans on Twitter or Facebook.

We should just move on and look elsewhere. We've made our effort, it's been rejected - now move on and look elsewhere. Walsall fans have a habit of clinging on to the hope of former players returning though.
We signed a striker yesterday but Cadamarteri is apparently set for a spell on the sidelines after missing last weekend's game, and a game which Moylan went off injured as well, so despite that we're still light up front (well, four available strikers but I don't think we'll want to be below that after the January window, especially when two of them are Draper and Makama, two 20 year old's from the Academy).

Pett was quality for us, real cog in helping us get promoted under DC. Just keeps things ticking over and does the simple things right, similar to Croasdale who is probably the first player we've signed to really replace him 2 years on!

I think any Carlisle player is hard to judge really.

On paper you could say the entire lot and total and utter crap, have been for months, have terrible morale, poor attitude and lack passion and fight……..results suggest it.

But on other hand it’s a vipers pit at present, I’d say you could sign the best player in the division and a good possible chance he’d flop because the whole club would drop the performance while some of the crap here could possibly go elsewhere, fresh start, more eager and in form players around them and possibly turn themselves around.
That's fair comment mate, it's sods law a
player under performs at a club, moves to another and has a new lease of life.
So many things can contribute to it. Just as an aside Lee Johnson who was with us for a very short period as manager seems to have disappeared. Does anybody know if he's at another club ?

Pretty much what Luke said, he can cross a ball, has a decent shot on him, but can't defend for toffee. Which happens to be quite important for a left back. League 2 is probably his level, and was very surprised he went to Pompey when he did, and again when Posh picked him up.
By all accounts had a falling out with Caldwell, so least you will have something to talk to him about.

Anyone that plays as a first choice regular in a team that won league 1 last season will do for me. His style sounds very much like a Paul Cook full back so no surprise we’ve gone for him, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

Yes I saw you signed Collins Yesterday that should be a decent signing for you plenty of experience and knows where the net is.

He will be class. He can also play on the LW if needed.

Am I right in saying only Grimsby and Tranmere who haven’t added anyone in the current window?

Whilst I certainly wouldn't say no, I don't think we're in a position or have the buying power to be pinching Donny's best player.
Yeah beat me to it, Donny are one of the division's more well backed clubs. If you're taking their best players off them then you'll be paying big bucks.

Sensible move by him, you’d think he’ll actually play.
I saw an interview with him and he seems a level headed guy, quite articulate and he was aware of his situation given his age and wanted to make sure he'll be getting game time, as 23 is just getting out of that 'prospect, maybe a loan to the non league see how you get on' to needing regular game time now. I'm not sure how he'd have fitted into the immediate picture here. Madden is probably going to be the guy now he's back till Grigg is healthy, and we've also signed that Pepple. He'd have been 3rd choice in a 1 striker system.

Same here with Jatta and McGoldrick, although with the caveat that we’ll probably need a new cab off the rank in the summer with AJ bound to be sold and Didzy maybe retiring (one more year, one more year).

Be very surprised if we don’t sign a striker this window, but it’s difficult to find someone who’s going to be useful but also happy to spend most of their time as a substitute.

Difficult indeed, for once I hope we go for experience (& quality) for that 3rd centre forward who is happy to come off the bench most games and start the occasional one.

McGoldrick was good last season but he's even better this time around helped by an obvious uptick in results.

The Gambian Prince is absolute quality.

Nowt after that so definitely need someone in.

hope he does well and that, Harrogate represent the ideal foot in the door for him - he also might go on to be the next Vardy as well but…can you imagine the moaning Notts fans would have done if we were going for autos and our Jatta insurance policy was a 23 year old from Ilkeston Town who couldn’t get a game for Gainsborough 2 seasons ago?

Imagine if Montague set his filters to ‘experienced’, ‘quality striker’ and ‘happy being 3rd choice in League 2’ it’d return no results

Maybe he's got a random big red button when he gets no results from a worldwide search.

Surely we can't go down the long term project youngster signing from level 6-7 for the second half the season. I fear we need to give the filters a rest on the super computer for this one.

I think I’d be happy with a young striker on loan to be honest - my algorithms aren’t as advanced as Football Radar’s but Joe Gardner at Forest is the type I think would be perfect for our situation, although I’m sure King Richard will find us someone like that but better.

With what was said on that podcast last night It can be only one of 3 players
Langstaff it's not him
Colby Bishop he's just got back in the Portsmouth team so that leaves kion etete from Cardiff.

He looks loke a good signing for us. He will certainly get match time if he can cut it. If there is one thing Weaver can do it's get the best out of lads of NLN and NL standard. Some in the current squad have been with the club since NLN days.

Hopefully, he is a big strong lad who can stand up in L2 and be successful.

It’s definitely Langstaff. Although he did start for Millwall tonight.

I don’t listen to that podcast but what makes the guy such a trustworthy source? I know he used to be involved in the club but I can’t remember any other transfer gossip coming via him.

Langstaff going back to Notts would be the least surprising transfer news of all time for me, that’s without actually checking how he’s done in the championship, I’ll guess poorly.

Very poorly, Millwall was a terrible move really, doesn’t suit him at all and he’s been in and out the side all season but I’ve always suspected he’d struggle in the Championship anyway so I don’t think it’s entirely circumstantial

Just needs to come home - plenty of hugs, kisses and goals here
