Wow that’s possibly the best bit of transfer business we’ve ever done.
IF we could get Wilson off the wagebill for 6 months aswell it would be a decent January for me , even if we don't sign anyone as they must be 2 of the highest earners that just never seemed to play - I actually didn't mind them as much as some on their day it was just never often enough due to injury and other issues . I imagine we will bring 1 in maybe but can't see anymore than that . We have a pretty settled squad for next season - 15 under contract I think and it would take relatively silly money to part with any i imagine so hopefully can give it a real go next season ( i would be worried if we fluked/made it up at this stage in Big Dave's + the boards version of Artform/data/ the process or whatever they want to call it as I imagine we would just be getting pumped most weeks ) .

Well it isn't if that player doesn't exist. There's about 16 clubs in this league with bigger budgets than us and none of them have managed to get a centre back better than Mickey Demetriou so I wouldn't fancy our chances. £300k is not enough money if it costs us promotion.

In terms of pure, raw, out and out defending, Nathan Smith shits all over him. However, in terms of a well rounded player and collective attributes, he's probably up there with the best in the division, no doubt.

Is tickling and pinching not technical ability? decent player, but still think at that age, considering hes likely at his ceiling level wise 300k is mad offer.

I see Matt Jay has left Col U and signed for Torquay in the National League South. His move away from the South West didn’t work at all, so now he’s back this way and at that level, he should be an unreal signing for the chip nickers.

I always liked him at Harrogate, although he was a bit of a goal hanger. It all started to go wrong with the Wrexham debacle. It's a shame it didn't work out for him at Carlisle, there is a good player in there with the right manager and system of play.

Always caused us problems when he played for you. Shame how it's worked out, as at one point I'd have gone as far as saying he was one of best strikers in League Two.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
I think Armstrong is smart in one respect and a worry in another.

I don’t think he’s a bad striker just badly out of form and joined wrong club at wrong time.

It is a loan he can maybe go elsewhere get new confidence and possibly come back a different player.

But on flip side we are a club who cannot score goals and our ‘brains’ at the top decide to leave us with a youth and two long term injured crocks as our ‘attack’ for the relegation battle.

I suppose at least it can mean our plan to play 2-8-0 and pass the ball side to side for 90 minutes to maybe scrape a draw could happen

I’d expect we’ll be active in the market for a number 9 now Armstrong has gone on loan.

The worst of the shit mentioned. Good luck.
14 games for you all in L1 as a 20/21 year old and our head of recruitment has a long track record of getting LOI signings spot on. I’ll take your feedback with a pinch of salt.

We’ve signed Jimmy Jay Morgan on loan from Chelsea.
They paid Southampton £6m for him a year ago.
Their head of academy said he is the best natural finisher he has seen.
Poor sod won’t even see the ball at our place.

We’ve loaned out Jack Tucker for the rest of the season to Colchester United.

Means we are definitely in the market for another CB (as we should be)…

P.S. Tucker is shit.
Lucky he turned us down then.

Like I said, good luck. We got relegated with that bloke and he hasn't made our L2 team for a reason. Absolute shit.

300k is mad money at League Two level. I still think we'd be stupid to accept it, and so would Mickey. This may be one of the best chances we've got to go up - not only that but it's clear as day that we've got Mickey lined up for a very, very high up coaching position and future manager, the club is quite local to him and his family so it's ideal to fit in with his life and his wife's business.

Double your wages for two years and then retire with a much less likely chance of a future career, or stay with what's likely to be an improved contract in the summer and safeguard your entire future once you need to retire?

As for the club, getting promoted is worth much more than £300k. Keeping Mickey Demetriou is more or less essential to that, considering his influence off the field as well as on it. Him signing and Lee Bell becoming manager were key to the noticeable change in positivity and good feeling around the club and Bell knows that. It might just be one player but you just don't upset the apple cart that much by selling them.

I refuse to take anyone called ‘Jimmy-Jay’ seriously
