Twitter rumours today saying that Brentford have bid for Ollie Watkins. Hopefully it's bollocks as he has a bright future and he can really improve by playing regular games for us.

I liked him at first, bit of experience and a decent range of passing, but then he just kind of settled into a role of doing absolutely sod all but make up the numbers. How much of that was down to poor management or being a rubbish player (past it?), hard to say with us.

Billy Clifford has signed for Crawley.

Best player I saw in non-league last season probably, attacking mid who has the technical ability and vision to control games plus has excellent mobility and quick feet to take on his man. He was excellent when I saw him. Then he was dropped, kept on the bench behind the attacking forces of Luke Howell/ Connor Clifford/ Clovis Kamdjo in one of the real footballing decisions I just don't understand (look at Wood's goals for last season).

I think he should, theoretically, be a very good signing for Crawley, but there are obvious questions about what happened to him at Boreham Wood - it was under both Allinson and Garrard so it wasn't as if one manager just didn't fancy him.

Seems as if we've turned down a number of offers for a number of our young(er) players, totalling over £1m.

In the two friendlies he's played for us, he's played more of a deep playmaker role. Picking up the ball off the back four and spreading it across the pitch. Good range of passing but just seems a bit ordinary.

Yalany Baio played in a friendly for Crawley last night. Another one of these youth stars for whom it hasn't quite worked out for. He spent last season at Sparta Rotterdam where he played about 9 games as Sparta won promotion to the top division.

Im quite happy about this one but I think Billy Clifford may struggle for game time if (big if) our other attacking midfielders play to their potential. Roberts is a shoe in for the left, Enzio for the right so that means Clifford and Banton competing for one place. I just feel Banton has more about him.

I recall that Banton has had some 'issues' at previous clubs so there may be more chances later on in the season.

Banton Lazy and clueless so good luck with that,he was that bad for us we loaned him out to Hartlepool last season who sent him back for being crap

Looked past it to me. Games tend to pass him by a bit. He's ok at the simple things that's about the best I can say about him. Be a poor signing for a club looking for promotion imo.
