Seems like we've got Moses Emmanuel on trial, striker who was at Bromley last season. Also interested in Jobi McAnuff - would have thought he'd be out of our price range though.

Thought Jobi would go to North America myself as he is still very much involved with the Jamaican national team, but he lives in North London.

He was poor value for money for us, we paid him a fortune and in his first season he was lazy and injured alot. He appeared to suffer under the Italians we had managing the first team for the whole season - much like every other player we had.

Last season he didn't play till November, as we couldn't afford to keep playing him, due to his bonuses etc. But once Dean Cox got injured, the owner brought him back as Cox's pay came out of the player injury insurance pay, which was taken due to the severity of Cox's injury. (If that makes sense).

Jobi was better last season, scored a few cracking goals and made a few as well. But towards the end of the season he was not played again, due to a contract clause if he reached 20 league games - he'd have got a new deal (That wasn't made official, but we could all see it) Which was very, very annoying as we needed him.

I'd have happily kept him another year - But not on the money we had him on (£5k per week), just be prepared for him to disappear every international window and to pick up the odd injury.

Had a host of trialists in our two friendlies so far, Kane Ferdinand (CM Dag & Red), Jamar Loza (FW Norwich), Bevis Mugabi (CB Southampton), Snorre Nilsen (CB Pompey), Josh Wakefield (CM Bournemouth), Dominic Gape (CM Southampton) and Harry Panayioutou (FW Leicester).

We wouldn't have to agree ote with Forest - he's a free agent.

There's a possibility just because of location and his ties to the club, but suspect he'll find a higher level club pretty confortably tbh.

I'm pretty sure Forest did release him. No reason he can't have a pint if it's his day off. Sure 1 or 2 won't hurt him.

He's far too good for league two. If we sign him I'll be very happy

Sounds like Kinsella is just there to make up the numbers for pre-season realistically but Vassell sounds like he has a real chance of earning a contract:
http://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/l...l-monitor-both-kinsella-and-vassell-1-7481230

Still after one other, I assume an attacking midfielder of some sort. Apparently we've missed out on our top two targets for that position in recent weeks which is disappointing:
http://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/l...ef-still-wants-one-position-filling-1-7481241

We've been strongly linked with Jake Gray recently and Jones seemed to semi-confirm it after the Bedford game so maybe he's Plan C. Pompey also interested apparently so we may struggle to get him too. Is he any good Hartlepool fans?

We're 4 games into pre season and we've got one striker. I hate to be that guy but it cannot be healthy.

I'd like us to get somebody in this week not only for the good of the squad but my only sanity, somebody on the fishy thinks we're signing fucking Becchio. This is the shite we've had to sieve through whilst waiting.

I heard a rumour Nathan Arnold changed his mind about leaving and asked Hurst if he could sign but Hurst said no because he's already filled his position.
Don't know how much truth in it though.

Arnold played for Ilkeston town against us yesterday. Which we won 4-0.

There's no two ways about it, it is utter bullshit. Leeds let him go for his £1.5m wage demands, who in the right mind can see him coming here? There's rumours and there's pure made up bullshit, that somehow our fans actually believe.

Question for Pompey fans. Why is Adam McGurk hated so much? Is he that shit? Just curious. :bg:

Thought Jon Parkin must be in his 40s by now. Amazed to find he's only 34. Age isn't being kind to him, he looks at least 10 years older than what he is.

With LJL possibly out for a while we need numbers so a one year deal shouldn't be too bad...I hope.

Parkin should score more than LJL did last season in league two.

At the moment, Argyle are struggling to recruit suitable midfielder's to fill in the gaps. Originally we wanted 3 more permanent signings and a couple of loans, but we could end up having more loan players for midfield, with one or two "risk" signings from the Conference to be used as cover.

What was Kane Ferdinand like? He's on trial with us now by the looks of it. Seems like Murray wants another midfielder.

Looks like our ex midfielder Arron Davies is off to Accy.

Good move for him but he really isn't much more than a squad player these days.

He was in France with us last week.
Scored 20 for Bromley last season I believe.
haven't heard anything about how he did with us but the fact he is now having a trial with you leads me to believe we didn't offer him anything,

Pleased he got a football league move. Not brilliant by any means but did his best playing in a number of diifferent roles, also gave us a good 4 years of service.

Hope he does well.

By all accounts he's a bit of a monster. Unproven though at this level.

Worth signing him if he kills Ainsworth.

I don't hate him and don't think many/any do hate him but last season he was nowhere near the standard of our other attacking players. Scored a good goal vs Oxford and a couple in the Cup but apart from that he looked very average and can't say I was surprised we are looking to get rid.

Akin Famewo has signed a professional contract at Luton Town, who is the 6th youth teamer to sign professional forms in the last year, joining Frankie Musonda, Tyreeq Bakinson, Alex Atkinson, James Justin and Liam Gooch. Craig King was the 3rd keeper last season and Zane Banton is a third year pro now are the other homegrown "development" professionals on our books.

Famewo is still eligible to play for the U18s, along with Bakinson, which says a lot about their development; the latter has 3 years to run on his deal, whilst attracting interest from Tottenham. I'd expect another small group of youngsters to get pro deals next season.

If this group can come through like they have at youth team level, this could really be a golden generation. This is the same group, who I believe won the most prestigous U13 competition in Europe a few years ago(?)
