Have you been shooting from the halfway line
We managed to get another 7 shots in after that too. :bg:

Good win for Crawley and decent showings for Stockport taking Leicester to penalties and Newport beating L1 Pompey.

Such a good performance from us tonight (except for three awful penalties...) and we were the better side against a pretty uninspiring Lincoln side. Wasn't too bothered about the outcome, but the fact that we scored what felt like a winner with a few minutes left only to concede in injury time was a bit of a sickener. New signings mostly looked good as well, so we've got loads of strength in depth.

Good win for us tonight against Peterborough - into the Third Round for the first time in our history. Eight changes from the weekend but it sounds like we put in a good performance, with another late winner to accompany it.

Further evidence that Evans has put together a decent squad, seems like the first time in a long time that we have players beyond the first 11 capable of coming in and competing. Not got huge numbers but general standard seems decent throughout the squad.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow, hoping for a good draw!

Bloody good win for Crawley and I couldn't be there. :hb:

I await some moving pictures and a few friends to give me a clue what it was like but the stats look wonky. We only had 33% possession and had fewer shots although more shots on target:woo:

A good win against Exeter in the end, should have finished it in normal time, but the pens saw us through.

Well where do I start with that, it would be easy to say it was a smash and grab but we could have won by more and should have! One of the best and proudest nights I’ve had following this club and there wasn’t a moment that it looked nervy. Their first shot on target came in the 90th minute. Our press and commitment was incredible and we didn’t allow them to do a thing in the game, it wasn’t even like we were playing their academy.
Still a bit shell shocked from what I saw this evening but if we can replicate anything like that in the league then we will be just fine. Betsy ditched the handbook tonight and got it spot on. Just how have we got it so wrong in the league.

I actually struggle to believe those stats, if they are accurate then I’m never looking at stats again.

I imagine all Wycombe fans will be delighted for Sir Betsy tonight, hope this result helps Crawley kick on in the league.

Stockport County.
Strong Leicester team, we defended well to get a 0-0. Thought Leicester were average tbh. Pass, pass, pass, long range shot. Didn't really cut us open anything like what you'd expect their supposed calibre to do. Don't think winning on penalties relieves Rodgers of much pressure.

Dack is quality to be fair, surprised a lower/midtable Prem side hasn't bought him in one of the last few windows.
We know all to well Dacks abilities at VP sadly, for the last 7 years for Gillingham and Blackburn he’s been our nemesis. Sadly for him he’s had some bad injuries. They decided to bring Diaz on to add insult to injury. 1-2 was a very flattering score line for us. Our keeper was deservedly was MOM.

We’re flitting between being half decent (Oxford) and worrying (Peterborough) at the minute.

Caveated slightly by missing 6 to injury, then making a further 4 changes tonight and also not being able to fill the bench so we’re not blessed with options at the minute.

It’s not often I give the opposition credit, but Blackburn were great to watch tonight. It was clear from the first minute that they weren’t here to dick around.

We did seem off it, but again I think it was down to how well Rovers applied themselves - game management - everything.

The only negative was the referee. He lost control of the game from the very off, and far too many times Blackburn were able to bully our midfield - alongside our strikers - who had little to no protection all night.

But overall, Blackburn were good for their win - no complaints and Cook continues his rich vain of form - and probably should’ve had his 7th goal of the season, if it wasn’t for the post.

Although we haven’t progressed in the competition, we’ve had nearly 14k through the gates throughout rounds 1 and 2 - which is great for club coffers - in addition to SKY monies.

It’s cliche, of course, but we get to focus on the league.

I wasn't sure how strong a Lincoln team it was - I only really recognised Vernam - but I was pleased how well we did with effectively an entire reserve midfield and attack ourselves. Scully looked a good player (and great goal) but there were a couple of woeful ones like number 24.

I don't know if you were at the game or watched online, but it felt like you had all the possession (mostly back and forth across the back line) and we had the better chances. We made our changes with winning the game in mind rather than looking towards penalties, so was never confident in the lads they'd picked to take them - not too fussed about being out, so good luck with the draw for the next round!

From the injury free lot it was a second choice 'keeper, young LB, a rested CM (Sanders), winger (Garrick) and ST (Hopper).

Scully is being linked to the Championship, so I'm not sure he'll be here this time next week tbh. Just seen his goal and he loves that cut inside and sticking it in the top corner. Number 24 was Roughan, he actually trialled with Chelsea and Southampton towards the back end of last season for their development squads.

We're still in the Appleton habit of overplaying and playing suicidal football at times, your second goal being a half decent example of that.

Forest just too good for us.

Interesting if Crawley have to ban those invading supporters, will not be many left; could cost them dearly.

Wow - a pitch invasion for winning a second round league cup game!

It’s a League 2 team beating a Premier League team, of course it’s a big deal.

I’m moved past pitch invasions myself but I can see why some Crawley supporters would want to celebrate what is a famous cup win

Couldn't go to the game last night but from those there it seems it was the best atmosphere we've had at a game in years. I know the bigger clubs are going to sneer at it but for us little guys beating Premier sides in the cup is still a big thing.

I dont like pitch invasions though.

Good draw it was not. Charlton. At least it's at home I guess.

Get relegated and you qualify for the Europa Conference, at least that's how I guess it works
Absolute shambles of a competition that. I have it on the same level as the Papa John's autoglass shield and the FA Trophy.

Can't be more prestigious than getting beat in the NL playoffs and somehow qualifying for the Scottish Tea & Biscuits Trophy.

Don't think that I don't understand the importance for a smaller club to knock a big fish out of a cup competition - very rarely do we even get to knock a minnow out of a cup competition these days - and of course fans should lap up and enjoy these moments, but my comment was about having a pitch invasion for it which in my eyes is needless. Others will disagree but I don't see the point of getting banned for running on the pitch after a league cup game in August.
