I'm going tomorrow night but I'm pretty confident we will get beat. We will make at least 7 or 8 changes.

We always go out in the first round. Stevenage beat us at their place a couple of years ago, too.

No excuses for us tonight.

Whilst not our strongest starting line-up,it should be plenty strong enough to see off Dagenham & Redbridge.

We will, without a doubt, lose at Yeovil on Tuesday. Lump on!

I can only echo this prediction. We are still getting fit, we will do multiple changes. Definitely going out.

Really surprised with this team. Thought we'd rest either Dicko or Afobe to play Adam Le Fondre. Also surprised that RVLP isn't starting. Overall it looks a strong team though, nice to see us take the cup seriously for once.

Also god knows what formation that is with 5 defenders on the pitch, but it isn't our usual 4-2-3-1. Guessing Ebanks-Landell is going into midfield since he played there in pre-season once or twice.

I really wouldn't be surprised to see Pompey turn us over tomorrow night.

Few of our clubs starting badly tonight...

Brentford 3 down, Forest 2 down, Blackburn losing at home to Shrewsbury.

Not surprised at Brentford, looking at their team. Not even bothered filling the bench.

I'm a Nigerian. I don't get the opportunity to get an on-pitch details, about most of my favorite English teams, but with as much effort as I could afford, I selected these five teams I would be tipping for a winning at the Bookies. I'd like to get your views about the Selections below. Thanks, as you do!!!

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Newport County
(Wolverhampton to win by, at least, 2 goals)

Charlton Ath. Vs Dagenham

Sheffield Wednesday vs Mansfield Town

Ipswitch Town vs Stevenage FC

Cardiff City vs AFC Wimbledon

..... These are the five teams I considered most likely to win. Would you, for any reasons, disagree with this pick???

Just need a Wolves goal GO ON LAD

To be fair this must be the worst competition to bet on, especially in round one? Hard to know what teams are being put out etc.

I Guess all Wolves fans already got their shades off by now. Haha!!!

Re-check all the five teams on the post and tell me who didn't win. *Tongue Out* #Believe, Buddies. Everyday can't present a bad day.

Guess what you did to Stevenage tonight???!!

#Believe!

WE.ARE.MASSIVE

In all seriousness, nice to get the win with only 1 'first 11' starter. Good run out for the current second team and a first win for McCarthy in the cup. Yorweth debut goal too.

Decent Tuesday night :)

Welcome to the forum mate.

As you said they're all favourites for a reason and you'd expect them all to win on paper, but the League Cup has a habit of springing a surprise or two. Sometimes clubs in the Championship will field a weaker side or not take it as seriously, but it's hard to guess which teams will mess up. I'm glad you haven't included Bristol City though, as we are truly awful in this competition and I expect a defeat against Luton!

You seem to know your team well enough, Aaron. Hehe....

I actually changed my mind when I saw the teams. We went full strength and they played their reserves. I was still wrong to think we could genuinely win a game in this cup though.

Mystic Don 69, can you tell us which teams will win on the weekend?

I'd delve out one or two... Latest Thursday Night.
I didn't expect you were going to back your team to win. I wouldn't have, either, with the objective fact you noted.

Ten changes for us and it showed. Some encouraging signs from the new Spanish lads, but they got outmuscled too easily and wanted to do things at their own pace. Hopefully they're quick learners.

Orient outplayed us for 89 minutes and should have wrapped it up on more than a couple of occasions. We throw on three late subs and the quality shows. All of a sudden we look a threat and then two quick goals. Very strange game, and we've really learned nothing from it,

One big tie might mean we can do a bit more business this window and we still need more options that can step up.

11 changes from Saturday, 7 debuts and most of those who played today won't appear in the side this season, but my god it wasn't good. Of course, there was a fair bit of luck - the second goal was an own goal from a goalkeeper's clearance hitting our defender and going in, whilst the third was from a headed keeper clearance and Roofe half volleyed in a 40 yard lob. Those two things don't tend to happen everyday, and from then onwards all of our players looked like they were about 13 years' old... even the few full internationals that played!

Still very much behind the Brentford project, but we could have done with not shooting ourselves in the foot tonight. Oxford well worthy winners.

Also, you're going to hear plenty about our pitch in the coming weeks. It's the worst surface I've ever seen at a professional club's ground.

You must've not played at Blackpool or Bradford in the second half of last season..

Played Blackpool early. Seriously, it's a complete mess. It would be better if it were muddy or sandy, at the moment it's incredibly long grass on top of a soft sand base. The corner collapsed under a corner taker today and the resulting divot flew further than the ball seemed to. Seems to have already played a role in injury players :( hoping to get it relaid over the next international break.

Also a nice stat for Wolves tonight in having the youngest ever starting XI in a Capital One Cup game at an average age of 21 years and 9 months. The oldest player being Scott Golbourne at 27.

Speaks volumes on the way our academy has grown in recent years and the direction the club is going in, long may it continue.

Average performance at Colchester from us tonight but managed to get through in extra time.First half was not bad but second half was dreadfull.Defence looks very good but our build up play is so slow at the moment.Samuel went off in extra time with what looked like a serious injury.

9 changes including a full debut for our 19 year old academy keeper.

Blew them away, Lopez is utter class, Sougou looks quicker than Bolt and the lad Joao impressed me immensely.

And a goal for Semedo.

Was a strange old night in the league cup, indeed.
