Reckon there will be general sale tickets available for that? I'm working in Bedford that day, might pop along!

More than likely - I can't remember the last time we sold out a League Cup game. Its rare we sell out any cup game - probably the last time was v Millwall in the FA Cup Last 16 in 2013.

There was never any debate about it with Newcastle not entering until R2. And Fleetwood v Leeds is hardly an inspiring tie.

Sounds promising, I'll attempt to make it then!

Thought I'd bump this bad boy with the games getting started tomorrow. Looking forward to this, despite its shit renaming?

Reckon a few teams could pull off upsets here. Accy, Blackpool, Carlisle, Pompey, Mansfield and Luton all have decent chances to win I think.

Reckon Crewe will lose to Sheff Utd in the end. Meh, never really been that fussed about this competition.

Reading away, not sure we could have got a more boring/uninspiring draw that we have no chance of winning.

Good tie for us against Sheffield Wednesday, looking forward to it as I have fond memories of us beating them in this competition in the late 90s soon after I'd started going. Home support won't be what it should be despite the fact it was probably one of the 3 most appealing home ties we could've had, but sadly that's a combination of the stature of the League Cup these days and keeping normal matchday prices (to fleece a large away support no doubt).

I expect them to make a lot of changes having only played late yesterday so I'd hope we can run them close.

I'm expecting us to make 11 changes but would expect us to still make it through this tie, hope there's no complacency though as I expect you to go quite well in League Two this season.

I think we've got a winnable game against Port Vale, and I'm looking forward to it. They've brought in a fair few foreign players which could go either way, though they got a draw at Bradford at the weekend.

Last season's cup run was very enjoyable ending with defeat at Anfield, I hope we can produce something similar this time round.

Might make changes for this one, we look extremely solid at the back (Bradford had one effort on target) but were quiet going forwards.

Hope we take it seriously as had a great night at WBA last year in round two (similar to yourselves at Anfield) but a tough assignment to pass first.

I think we'll make a few changes. How many we make will determine whether we go through or not. Obviously Port Vale will start as favourites whatever team we put out, but if we only make 1 or 2 changes from Saturday then I think we'll have a chance.

Can see us either losing 1-0 or winning by a big margin, would be surprised at anything else.

We've sold out our allocation for Derby away (1100) with pay on the gate also available and should be a decent overall crowd in as Derby are letting season ticket holders in for £7.
After not being in this competition for the last 6 seasons i'm really looking forward to this one and we couldn't really have pulled out a bigger team than Derby, great draw for us and for the players to get to play in a terrific stadium.

I honestly couldn't care less. We've never done well in this cup bar beating Derby when they were in the Prem on pens

As far as I'm concerned, Wycombe are clear favorites tonight. We must be one of the worst teams in the country in this competition - Of our last six meetings against lower league opposition, we've lost the lot of them.

Expected to make alot of changes for tonight but still think we could cause an upset.

Evans might be making a return after that horror tackle vs Plymouth in the Semis. Two new signings O'Brien (keeper) and Lingzani likely to get some minutes.

Charlton at home tonight.

They appear to be in a right mess according to their forums (fora?) but we rarely get past the 1st round in this tournament so it could really go either way.

Dillon Phillips should be in goal for them and, as he's apparently the greatest goalkeeper of all time, he'll get a fantastic ovation. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dills last season, and am gutted he's not back, but the way some Town fans have gone on you'd think he simply can't be replaced, despite the fact he's only 2nd choice in a team a division above.

We've got a bit of a left back issue for our game.

Potts is suspended and Sheehan injured so could see either Famewo (believe he is more of a centre half?) or McJannett come in and make their debuts. Jones has said he might change the shape from our 442 diamond but can't see how that would avoid having to have one of those 2 play. Pretty tricky game to make your debut on!

Not fussed at all about tonight. Sheffield Utd are beatable although we are sizeable underdogs. Davis already said he's going to make changes. If we get through its a good chance to play a decent premier league side, but I won't lose sleep over it, Pompey on Saturday is far more important.

Not a slight on the bloke but it's only that we lost two goal keepers in the summer that he's second choice aswell otherwise he more than certainly would be back on loan with you chaps.

I'd like us to keep the diamond if possible, but they could potentially move Rea back to centre half and we play 3-5-2?

Any tickets left of general sale? Heard you're not making many changes and now want to pop down

MK Dons for us....I hope the game is going to be used to continue to gel the new guys in order to battle along in the league. We shall see though.

Famewo did play at left back in one of the pre-season games for a while, no idea if it's something he is comfortable with though.

I don't think McJannett is considered part of the first team squad yet, Jones name-checked him and Atkinson as ones who aren't quite at the level yet unlike Bakinson, Justin, Famewo and Musonda:
http://www.hattersnews.co.uk/LTFC.php?ID=8218

Given that, I wouldn't expect him to be involved even with the injuries.

I reckon he might just stick in James Justin even though he is nominally a right back. According to Stephen O'Donnell, James Justin is equally comfortable on left and right feet (I believe he started out as a centre midfielder) so may well be capable of playing left back:
http://www.hattersnews.co.uk/LTFC.php?ID=8232

I'd like us to keep the diamond if possible, but they could potentially move Rea back to centre half and we play 3-5-2?

The wing back role is broadly identical in a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 narrow diamond though. The only difference is the three centre backs can cover wider areas giving the full backs a bit more time/license to get up and down the pitch. You still wouldn't want to be playing wingers out there or anything though.

Also Jones has never shown any sign of liking to play with three central defenders. If we do change tactics I think it's more likely to see us switch to a 4-3-3/4-5-1 to give a tiny bit more protection in the wide areas. Hopefully we just fcuk it off and go with the diamond though, especially if we are playing a full strength team. Marriott and Hylton so deadly on the counter if they both play as a pair.
