Sorry, I don't follow this argument at all. Policing maybe less, but now Carlisle have the prospect of perhaps only 150 Luton fans up there this season, compared with over 1000 last season.

We only took 1000 because it was first game of the season/back in the league. Most other Saturdays (unless it was in a crunch promotion game in April or something) and you are looking at 500 max I would think, probably less (we had about 5/600 at Accrington and 4/500 odd at Hartlepool for Saturday games this season if memory serves).

We play York on Boxing day and Hartlepool play Notts County, would have been a lot better if we played Notts and Hartlepool played York

We are always involved in stupid Christmas fixtures , this year we've avoided the travelling but missed out on a bumper away support , although in fairness Notts always bring a few, as for Easter , Sat , Wimbledon come to us , Mon we go to Orient... I'm sure these fixtures at this time can be avoided

With yourselves being the only North East club you are always going to be travelling a good distance, but we have 11 League 2 clubs within 100 miles of Northampton, you would think they could have found a couple to play over Christmas rather than York & Accrington !

Morecambe away on boxing day is daft, not even remotely close.

Would have been easier travelling to Cambridge Luton or Stevenage instead

I accept long travels, however football is supposed to be about the fans , and they could make an effort around Christmas and Easter.... York and Carlisle is reletivly close , and Accrington is a little tootle over the pennies, London is neither near or cheap to get to....

I'd be surprised if the police allowed Everton v Watford and Accrington v Luton on the same day.

Accrington is 45 miles from Liverpool, why would they not allow it ?

Yeah. And although Everton had a poor season, I'm sure they've not developed any beef with Accrington yet. ;-)

I'm guessing he's referring to the Luton and Watford fans travelling up together, but if you used that logic you wouldn't have 2 London teams playing together or one from Manchester and one from Liverpool

The two grounds are about an hour apart! That's double the travelling time from Luton to Watford. Can't see the problem and I don't think the plod will do. The only thing that is likely to move is the Everton / Watford game due to TV coverage.

Just trying to get into his thought pattern!! I'm always amazed Glasgow Police can handle 4 Celtic - Rangers games per year ( used to anyway ) yet our Police get in a paddy if more than 200 supporters come to town
