I don't get that. Yes, the FA Cup can be far more financially benifitial, but at this point last season we beat Morecambe and drew Leeds at home in the 2nd round. That was worth at least £300k to the club. Never overlook any cup competition IMO. We reaped in excess of circa £4m in the last three seasons.

If it means us getting off to a good start in the league for the first time in god knows how long then so be it.

I'd obviously be happy if we got through and like you said, drew someone like Everton in the next round but a defeat is hardly catastrophic if we lose to a better side than us so I'm looking forward more to Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Hopefully Bradshaw goes off with a hamstring niggle until September.

1-0 down vs Barnet. We're not even in it, really. Hate these poxy early round cup games, they're always a massive anti-climax.

Comfortable first half against Burnley assume we will tire but so far looked as solid as we did at Crewe.

Sheff U have pinched a 1-0 win late on away at Morecambe. Big result for them, they needed a win tonight.

Wow, Walsall snatch a late goal, look to have beaten Forest 4-3. Bradshaw hat trick.

Championship teams falling likes flies. Forest, Burnley, Brentford, Blackburn, Huddersfield and Bristol City all out.

Scunthorpe gone to Extra Time. Good.

What a performance, our keeper didn't have a save to make... Full Burnley side and we battled to a man. Crewe released Anthony Grant?! He isn't a footballer? Struggled a bit carrying George Boyd in his pocket all night.

We deserved it a much better display. We were very wasteful tonight which i dont mind cos we were actually creating quite a bit of which we did none of that at gillingham.

Out on pens to Rochdale. Apparently had a goal disallowed that should of stood but meh. Would've been a decent point otherwise.

Two good teams on display tonight, was impressed with both sides. Coventry look a different team to last season, and at times we played football which looked a gear up from that we were playing last season. Second half was a bit of a struggle for us though, maybe more to Coventrys credit though. Good win, happy to progress. Onto Blackpool away on Sat.

Game of penalties at Glanford Park. Two scored and one missed in 90 minutes then on to a penalty shoot-out.

Good to hear. Any stand out players from our side?

Probably Ruben or Jim O'Brien. First half was complete Dale domination. Second half almost the complete opposite. Then both halves of ET we were on top again. Probably just about the correct outcome but both sides will have plenty of positives to take.
