So, why was this not a goal eh?

Is it that new thing about someone not having to touch the ball to be offside? The linesman possibly thought the guy closest to the opposition player who headed it out to Tudgay was offside!?

That's the thing though, when the ball is kicked he doesn't look offside at all. I don't think he's even offside when the ball is headed away or when Tudgay hits it. Mowbray was pretty unhappy on the touchline at the time if I recall correctly.

Yeah it doesn't look like he is but he couldve still given it for that...not the worst decision I've ever seen but looks incorrect nonetheless.

Not great from us. Gave away 2 early goals after calamitous mistakes from Garratt and Guthrie. First half we were woeful, couldn't pass the ball, players looked like they'd only met each other yesterday. Thankfully Preston sat back and allowed us to come back into the game. Nice move in the build up to our goal and King finished it off brilliantly.

2nd half, we again huffed and puffed, but bar one really good Haber chance which Pickford saved brilliantly, we never tested them. Pretty comfy night for Preston, never had to get out of first gear and they just pounced on our mistakes, of which there were plenty.

Bingham was atrocious again. King bar his goal was terrible. Defence coped as well as can be expected. Made a couple of mistakes that were punished. Forward line is clearly wrong, that much should be clear. I'll say it every game until Davis changes it, why is our best goalscorer playing out wide?!

The system is also wrong, but our clueless manager thinks we need a 3 man midfield and that we can't deviate from that formation. We should go either 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2. Midfield are all the same type of player, all want to pass the responsibility onto someone else to do something. Meant our full backs got loads of the ball. Take out Bingham and start Colclough or Cooper, don't mind which one.

Preston were deserving winners, easy night for them all in all.

Pretty sure Mowbray says he was told that Thomas (the lad the ball was played into was offside, but he doesn't look it in that when the ball is kicked.

Pretty sure it's your centre back who heads it away and I don't even think Thomas is offside, especially not when the ball is kicked. Weird one but rather it cost us this than any points.

Ah yes it was our centre back, wasn't that clear on that video. And blade might be right, sure there's a new rule been brought in. There was one offside given against us that was farcical too, by the same linesman. Vincenti was offside, the play continued, it was easily into the second phase, he was back onside again and won a header only for the linesman to rule him as offside, which we thought was ludicrous.

For a brief moment it felt like everything was aligned for us to get Stoke. West Brom still pretty good draw though.

West Brom away cracking draw that, winnable (although unlikely) Premiership side and we'll take thousands there! Get in!

West Brom always used to beat us in the 90's. Proper bogey side. Hopefully we can pull off an upset.

Brighton at home, proper meh but I suppose there is a tiny chance we may beat them if they take it lightly with a midweek travel involved too.

Leicester at home is very meh. However hopefully they'll bring a decent squad and we can give them a good game. Let's hope Schmiechel plays - loved him playing for us.

You had to go there and mention that game didn't you. That was one painful day.

Not that it's in any way relevant to now but we did also beat them a few times when we were in the Championship. Think there was one game we did them when the pitch was covered in snow and they had to get the orange ball out.

On TV I recall! It's winnable if they may field some of the second string although I doubt Pulis will want us getting one over him... That said it could go like the Fulham game when we turned up expecting their ressies only to get the full side and a 6-0 pasting!

To be fair, our side is lightyears better than what we had back then. Adam Yates started that game.

Hull away.

Not brilliant but could be worse (Fulham/Charlton/Bournemouth/QPR).

Are we ever going to play Stoke again? I thought all the stars had aligned together to draw Vale and Stoke.

Palace away. Quite a way to travel mid week, would've liked one of the midland clubs. That said any prem side is a pretty decent draw.

I think ours is one of the least attractive fixtures there, having said that there aren't any that stand out really. Should get rid of the seeding to create a something a bit more interesting.
