fwiw I think our support is pretty shit to average and I'm pretty renowned on skybluestalk for having a pop at our supporters.
I think your support is generally pretty good, but I just thought that was a standout poor following. Maybe just me, but I expected more. Your followings have been generally decent this year, and you'll accumalate some good numbers for a decent average come the end of the season IMO.

By the way, what does everyone think is a fair price for a visit to a ground in this league? Personally I would say no more than £15. £20 in the Championship and £25 in the Premier League.

At the moment, in my opinion, fans of L1 clubs are paying Premier League prices for League 1 football. For CAT C Arsenal games the price is £25. People will pay that at Fleetwood Town this year.

It's not right. The pricing structure needs to be looked at in the lower leagues first. Premier League clubs (well the big ones anyway) have thousands of fans on the waiting list, willing to pay £40 for a ticket.

Our away tickets are £15. I believe that's the lowest in the league.

Nothing to shout out about for sure but nothing to be ashamed either, but maybe that is because I have come accustomed to our support. I don't think we even sold out Burton which is less than an hour away.
Despite how well we are doing there's still a lot disgruntled murmuring among Coventry fans that the goals are drying up and that the slide down the table is beginning, we're not as good away as we are at home, form is slowly dropping off etc.

I have to say we have are fair share of band wagoners more so than other clubs imo (check out Crewe and Gillingham attendances and then the home fixture immediately following that, not many if any clubs get that big of a disparity between attendances from one game to the next) if we'd have won our previous two fixtures 3-0 instead of drab 0-0 we'd have probably took double or filled it (dunno the away allocation at Swindon) due to the fickle nature of Coventry fans. We get on a good run and people get excited and it snowballs and we start taking big numbers, one or two poor/average results and its cries of same old city and the support just drops off, been the way since we dropped into this division

a lot of people would have been put off by the trouble last year, but yeah, atrocious
Don't buy into that at all. The matches are usually well policed and pass relatively trouble free. Last year was an exception with both teams flying in the league and you could feel the tension as soon as you got near the ground. If one game like that puts you off going the game then maybe football isn't the sport for you.

Our away support has been poor this season compared to other years. If we are in this position towards the end of the season the bandwagon will be well and truly rolling.

Ive heard alot of excuses on support before but this one just about tops it, anyone who get puts off from going to football because of potential agro needs to start watching carpet bowls or something else instead.

On Saturday I was in two minds whether I should pay £25 to stand in the rain and watch them shit twats play.

I made the right decision.

But, seriously, they want PREMIER LEAGUE CLUBS to charge £20. This season £25 at Fleetwood, £26 at Millwall, £25 at Swindon. It's never going to happen. Thinking about it, you can get a Premier League ticket for £30. What's better value? Premier League will always win for the younger generation. Why would a young lad from London pay £25 to watch Charlton (for instance) when he can pay £35 to watch Chelsea.

The pricing structure for home and away fans needs to start from the lower leagues.

I managed to get into Swindon for £12 but agreed the pricing is ridiculous, it's also £25 at our place.

So you think a family of four with two kids wouldn't be put off by trouble at the same fixture last year? I'm not saying it's the only factor in our crap turnout but certain people would have given this one a miss because of the bad press. Yeah you can all laugh cause we have a shit fanbase but it's what going on on the pitch that really matters. Our average gates and budget means we should be fighting relegation in league two but we're in midtable league one going through the best period in our history with the best manager in our history so I really couldn't care less tbh.

That Cov following isn't shit and neither is it great. For balance, Bristol City managed 661 to us last season on the back of a 16 game unbeaten run, on a Saturday. That was shit.

Speaking of shit, I know it's only an hour away (if that) but I'd be surprised if we managed over 1,000 for Scunny on Saturday. We've been there twice already this season, we're shit away from home and if we're being brutally honest complete and utter wank in general this season. Likewise, if we get half that going to Cov next Tuesday I'll be amazed.

I'm impressed with our following today. Wouldn't have expected there to have to been more than 500.

Going away may be better than watching us at home looking at results though my personal experience at Blackpool has put me right off.

Very impressive following.

It's OK.

I think the ticket price put a few people off, and by no means do I think it's right that we also charge away fans £25, but £26 and the 200 mile trip wont appeal to most people.

1384 Peterborough fans at Coventry. Very loud first half, but silent in the second following the Coventry onslaught.

Good turn out from Gills, fairly mute though even 2-0 up. Must of been the jet-lag.
