Yeah good numbers for Gills and were decent in noise from pre kick off to the 30th minute, quite impressed by them. Very solid numbers.

528 Shrewsbury at Vale seems very low, should be taking at least double that to Vale.

They bought 1000+ on their first two visits to us in L2 (hadn't played them in 20 years).

Since then, their away numbers at our place have been shocking.

I know Barnsley are not doing great & as a Donny fan I can't criticise too much but that Barnsley following is poor giving they seem to travel well to local games, what's Scunny distance wise 35-40 miles?

They've already played here twice this season and it's not the most attractive away day in the league.

Based on their away performance today I'm unsurprised it was that low but very poor 1000 less than we took a similar distance the week before!

It was a poor following. Pathetic, in fact when you consider it's barely an hour away. But understandable. Third time there already this season, 5 losses on the spin, no goals from open play in 600 minutes of football and 21st in probably the weakest league one for a while. Can hardly blame people for voting with their feet, there's only so much shit people will put up with before choosing not to go. And we've had more shit than most results-wise in the last decade. I would be surprised if there's many more than 250-300 of us at Coventry on Tuesday night and I don't begrudge anyone for staying away.

is just short of 8k home fans bad for league 1 :\ i think you expected a lot less :2thumb:

We had gates almost three times that in L1. You were in the PL a few short seasons ago. You won some cup too in recent living memory.
Where the fuck are they all? Some railway station queues have more than that.

so you should, with a 250k population in Wolverhampton, its hard when you support a club with the likes of city Liverpool and united near you..i am happy with the gates we are getting and our current league position, you can take you're cheap shots now at our gates but you were under you're rocks when we were in the prem and winning a cup while you were doing nothing, cheer up..

Your borough has more than 300k. Broadly the same.

We had bigger gates than you when we were "doing nothing" in League 1 than when you were in the PL and winning the Cup.

The fact that Wigan people are off supporting other clubs is fairly shameful, and is kind of the point of others calling your support shit. Yet you present it as a badge of honour. Our support turns out to watch when we are shit (and we have a long, distinguished record of being shit, except against Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday) whereas your paltry support can't even be arsed to fill your ground when you were good. I mean what's the point? Are you a Birmingham City franchise? Why not just volunteer to go back to non-league where your gates would be edging onto the positive side of mediocre?

so you think places like Leigh and Ashton just because its classed as the wigan borough will support wigan ? you are getting 19k home fans this season settle down...i think you are getting a bit to excited about beating the bigger club in the west midlands. hows that wigan 5th choice striker grant holt doing :10: now that's embarrassing

Holt wanted to play for a much bigger club than Wigan. But Crewe and Fleetwood didn't need him so we offered him a home for a month.

You remember your other 5th choice striker from a few years back? Nouha Dicko? Yeh? The guy who scored more goals last season than most of your entire squad put together, and more than twice as many goals as your top scorer? He's scored for Blackpool, Rotherham and Wolves. Wigan is the only club he hasn't scored for! :10:Same with Andy Delort. Now all that is embarrassing. Perhaps you might want to ask yourself why perfectly good players go to Wigan and don't score goals.

So thanks, yeh, we'll have Holt and we'll have a look at the other players outside your squad who are probably also good players sitting in a shit club.

dicko was garbage at wigan hence why we sold him, and yes he did but even messi would of struggled in our team the last couple of seasons, and hes faded at wolves, you will never sign our best players,oh and thanks for Jacobs, you're loss! grant Holt is terrible past his best and couldn't get a sniff here so we LET him go to wolves on loan. so yeah good luck with grant Holt

Priceless. You really don't see the pattern of good players heading for Wigan then becoming shit, do you? :fl:
Yes, Jacobs' departure was not a popular one.

How has Dicko "faded" at Wolves. He scored 14 in the League last season. More than most of your team put together, as I said.

Out of interest, where were you the day they did basic English grammar at school?

I don't often pull up people on the grammar but it really is shocking. There are times that you think, it's actually harder to get it wrong than right. I've actually been genuinely surprised.

On the football, Dicko was playing through an injury and then in a team badly weakened at the back. He hasn't faded at all.

But enough, I had forgotten how great Wigan is, so have the last word to remind us how superior you are with your huge support (when they aren't down at the Etihad or Anfield) and your great team. :bye:

Wolves are bound to get much larger gates than Wigan as a) Wolverhampton is a lot bigger than Wigan and b) traditionally Wolves are a top-flight club with a history of winning major trophies and playing in big games, whereas Wigan have spent most of their life in non-league and the lower divisions of The Football League.
Their present gates are very healthy to be fair.
