There was confusion on the opening day as Scunthorpe didn't publicly announce the Rovers following at Glanford Park.

It may have been posted since and I've missed it, but if not our matchday programme at the weekend stated that we took 1012.

Yep. Another ridiculous decision.

However, GMP and the club's concerned (Latics, Bury, Dale) generally see sense on the eve of the game and decide it will be POTD, or they risk away fans going in the home ends.

That being said, we've only sold just over 1100 at the moment, which is someway short of the 1900+ we took last year. Quite a drop in demand.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come, ie Bury/Dale/Oldham/Bolton always all ticket with no POTD relaxation. Somewhat ruins Derby games. More Oldham fans and Bury fans the better. Gets the atmosphere going. Half empty away end doesn't to the same extent.

People don't just not go cos it's all ticket it really isn't hard to purchase a ticket beforehand either in person,over the phone or on the Internet. Makes absolutely no odds to crowds whatsoever unless there some real last minute huge demand which is very rare

I'd argue stopping ticket sales at 3pm on a Friday has a big effect on an away crowd. It generally just adds an inconvenience to attending a game which some casual/floating fans may be put off by.

Cov have sold just under 400 tickets for Saturday's game at Valley Parade.

Do their fans know that tickets prices increase by a fiver on the day? Otherwise, it's gonna be another shite following from Coventry.

I'd argue stopping ticket sales at 3pm on a Friday has a big effect on an away crowd. It generally just adds an inconvenience to attending a game which some casual/floating fans may be put off by.

I agree it's an inconvenience and completely pointless 99% of the time but I don't think it has any effect on away numbers cos if your planning on going and you know it's all ticket then you make sure you've bought a ticket don't you. How many away fans do you think wake up on Saturday and think I might go to wherever I'd say about 0.0001 %. Away fans put plans in place mainly due to travel. I'm sure there's thousands of home fans who potd every week as it's only down the road for most.

Disagree. Lets use Rochdale two years ago as an example.

Official stated it was all ticket - this was up until the Friday, and we'd sold about 2,600 I recall. They then announced on the Friday that it's POTD. Attendance ended up being 3,250ish.

So that's around 650 people deciding on a whim.
