You are embarrassing yourself big time this afternoon. Why dont we take out 3,000 at Swindon and 2,000 sell out to come at Yeovil just to prove your weird point.

Your home crowds are significantly lower than ours and have been for a number of yeard. But carry on Tommo.
I think his point is that you've had your 2 biggest followings of the season and they're yet to have theirs?

And I'm not so sure our home crowds were significantly lower than yours when we were in the same division either

Jamo. love your away support table analysis, I had a link to one last season, but can't find it now. Where can I find it or is it your own compilation?

Top of the league all season, your best season in years and you average 1,500 more than us. Does that count as significant?

Not to mention the fact that Bristol is 4 times the size of Preston and it's only your second year down here.

We averaged 11,800 in this league before Westley came in and made everyone hate football.

You're aware we only have two and a half stands and sell out often? :dk:

Not every week though, which tells me you wouldn't see much of an increase if more seats were available.

Surely teams up North are going to have bigger numbers? As they have more local games? Just a thought! An interesting table to look at would be the amount of mileage fans have to do!

I think our home numbers are quite poor. In the position we are and the reduced capacity we should be selling out every week.

I agree, still better than Preston's though which was my sole point to Tom.

Think you might have missed the table Jose deleted. It weighted the away followings by miles travelled and we were top by a long way.

'Significantly' better? If you weren't top of the league all season, they would be pretty similar.

We averaged over 11,800 in our first season down here, finishing 15th.

You averaged over 11,900, finishing 12th.

Had you had a second, successive shit season at this level under someone like Westley then your crowds would have taken a hit too.

You Preston fans seem fantastic at making up scenarios. If this happened ... if that happened...

Fact is our crowds have been significantly better, talking 20% + on average, since we got out of this league in 2007. Im sorry that fact stirs such a response.

You average around 1,500-2,000 more than us, from a city of 400,000+

If you weren't top from day one then there wouldn't be much in it all.

Im out of this conversation, the facts back up my point even the year you reached the Championship play offs and we didnt. Not sure what City size has to do with my comment but shall not argue.

Catchment area has a lot to do with football crowds.

You said your crowds are significantly better than ours, whereas I don't think the difference is significant, although it should be.

Our crowds have always been poor relative to the size of our catchment area. I accept that. Not enough success over a sustained period of time to really build a big core fanbase, and too many people wearing their liverpool replica tops. Also there is another club in Bristol.. As insignificant and laughable as they may be, thats still 6000 odd local football fans that go elsewhere.

I've been waiting my whole life for this club to start matching its potential but after countless false dawns, its never happened and to be honest it probably never will. Im kinda resigned to our perpetual tin-pottedness and milking every moment of seasons like this one. :D

All that said, our gates would be at least 1500 up on what they are now if we still had a four sided stadium.

Ours at Scunthorpe will be embarrassingly low tomorrow. I only said a few pages back how we'd manage over 1,000, but that's looking very unlikely. Can't blame people for not going given our away form this season, and indeed the last 8 or 9 seasons.

Don't worry. City have only sold 180 for donny

id expect them to take around 400 pretty standard for them considering distance and tuesday night

Im off to rochdale far better than watching that shite on tv or maybe not but still going anyway. Id go to milwall too or any london game however if i was a bristol city fan id consider binning donny off. I have got one but not used it for years whats the bet

Has anyone actually not gone to watch their team because they fancied watching the Champions League instead?

Seems a lame excuse to me, I probably watch 1 European game on TV a season.
