Quietest fans all season so far. Was hilarious when they were singing “your support is fucking shit” and I could barely make it out over the noise of the old feller at the back of me unwrapping his starburst.

I genuinely don't care that much but I was interested to see what number Rochdale were going to pluck out for our away following especially when it was cash on the gate with no tickets handed out. Obviously they can do a rough calculation but there was a bit more in there than the number given I think.

Reading an article yesterday that stated that it was the clubs who didn't want derbies on Bank Holidays, as they were guaranteed bigger gates whenever they were played.
Great, but no good for the away fans, hence the poor sales for our game, which will be about 160 miles from Luton.

In our non league days we were away at Lincoln on Boxing Day three seasons in a row and we won all three so the following season Lincoln requested with the FA to play somebody else on Boxing Day so we didn’t get to ruin their Christmas again.

Whilst we don’t always travel in huge numbers, the last few years we tend to make quite a racket. Perhaps the torrid train journey up for some and the abject performance on the pitch played a part. Big away end too I suppose.

You sound surprised that fans 100++ yards away aren't that loud in comparison to fans next to you? Doesn't every opposition fan peddle the same line?

I actually thought your fans were decent after being 2-0 down for nearly an hour, I heard a small pocket of your fans at the top of the away end a lot throughout the game. Home atmosphere was crap as usual unfortunately but you could say that for the majority of places these days.

If anyone is missing any Walsall figures, let me know as I picked up a programme yesterday.

Their following at Fleetwood is given as 338, which is different to the figure posted on here.
They also had 266 at Bradford.

Better than a few years ago when they gave an official figure out after having the stewards collect cash letting us in through the exits because of the long queues still close to kick off. Think that was the time they threatened legal action after people questioned the attendance.
