It's not nice to go to Oldham town centre and see united and City shirts everywhere but at the same time it's hardly surprising. You can get a season ticket at city for a similar price than you can at Latics. You can hardly blame kids nowadays for supporting United/city when they are two of the best clubs in the world......

The problem with that is how many of them actually attend City/United games because of either availability and/or cost and are just wearing the shirts as a 'fashion' statement?
They are the ones who should be targeted and encouraged to attend their local home town league sides.
We all have a similar problem with all of the wannabees but the teams in the NW and London must feel it more because the 'big clubs' are so close.

Why does it bother you so much? We know our support is poor, we can't really do much about it. Your opinion would have some weight if bury were attracting thousands more than us, but you're not.

And why don't you try looking at the fixtures before you post? Since the middle of August, our away games have been at Oxford, Bristol Rovers, Millwall, Charlton, Swindon (midweek) and Coventry.

Are you expecting hundreds to go to them? Not everyone is able to take out so many loans for their football fix... Maybe I should have a word with The Chur to see if I can borrow a few quid.

Your away average is skewed by the game at Spotland.

Why are you so besotted with crowds? You sound like that **** on Twitter who spends all his time going on about how bury are far better supported than Dale or Oldham, when we're talking a couple of hundred at best and teams have only played 8 home games.

I'd be more concerned with the way your team and club are going rather than the fact you had more people in the ground than us, to be honest.
We do regularly achieve a 1,000 to 1,500 gate higher than yourselves even though you are doing well on the pitch and we aren't, add in that Rochdale have never had it so good (literally) and your support is a joke. You were getting 1,800 at the start of the season while we have a steady home support of 3,000. Small margains to outsiders but it's all relative. "Couple hundred at best" is a lie quite frankly.

Add in the size of the towns of Bury compared to Rochdale and it's even worse. I suppose it's because you've never actually done anything if note in your history and that your biggest achievement is finishing above Bury? #aboveBury is a thing on their twitter handle.

It's something that we have had to deal with for years but more so in recent times following city's dominance and it's a problem that could end the smaller clubs such as ourselves and Rochdale/bury.

Two of the best clubs in the world? You're half right I suppose.

Is 1500 all we're gonna get at Oxford? Sold out for our game on the 19th but seems a small allocation?

We've took 2,500 in league two before... Normal allocation for us there is 2,000 though.

Due to a combination of factors, I'm hoping we take 4 figures to Lincoln in the cup, which would be nice.

Fans locked outside aren't given in the official figure though.

1,500 is all anyone will get this season. It's because we've sold season tickets in the area next to the away fans section, and have moved the family section to the other end of the same stand, thereby reducing the away allocation to just above the 10% stipulated by the league.

The seats next to the away section are some of the best in the house, and past owners have given them to away fans every time they've asked. We now have owners who are looking after the home fans first, and crowds are building, so this is long overdue. I would expect the stadium to be about 90% full for this one, after the ridiculously large segregation area is taken into account.

We have somehow managed to sell 120 tickets so far for a completely pointless game at Stevenage tonight.

So how many Gills saw our 'glorious' win at the Hawthorns?

From the (limited) reports I've seen - 9.

Cracking following that. I wish we were doing the same tonight but unfortunately I think we're going to have 300 plus there.

I still can't get my head around being proud of an away following of 9. Normally a following like that would see certain board members falling over themselves to gibber and hoot like Trump supporters , but in the context of the Checkatrade (most ill-advised sponsorship EVER), it is held in high esteem .

Probably because its the most pointless competition ever, couldn't believe it when a Blade friend of mine was explaining it to me. Even friendlies attract larger crowds as Grimby v Blades will probably show.

They'll take more to Grimsby than most overall attendances last night I imagine.

Too many from us but then again there are a lot of City fans in Morecambe aka Bradford-on-Sea.
