Actually think our write up is a little harsh. Im corneys biggest critic about the appointment of kelly and am seriously worried about it. Yet i do think we have the squad to push for play offs. Short of a quality centre half to partner wilson.

Should kellys appointment go tits up we should have enough about us for a new guy to drag us safe so regardless of the kelly element i think 12th-16th is realistic. However i agree with the fan who wrote out fan comment, with this squad it should be pushing play offs.

Our squad is CB & ST short of easily being good Enough to mount a PO challenge. Its just Kelly that may hold us back

Your level of research into Vale is probably summed up by the fact that you haven't included our best player in our first choice starting lineup.

A mixed write-up with factual errors (mixing the Thompson brothers up), mistakes (Brandon Ormande-Ottewill was signed as first choice left-[wing]-back, not Jordan Williams, biggest risk is losing Byrne, not Smith or Kasim) and missing the glaringly obvious, namely that the Chairman, Manager and Trainer remain, which gives the continuity.

Since you posted, James Brophy (Edgware Town) and Bradley Barry (Brighton) have signed, both squad players replacing Barthram, and possibly Richard Eckersley (free agent I believe) to come. None of them super exciting. Hope not given up on signing Ryan Kent (Liverpool) on-loan which would be a blockbuster, but more likely he'll go to a Championship side.

All leavers have been satisfactorily replaced (Andy Williams already covered by last year's signings); if Michael Smith moves to Barnsley expect a replacement. Biggest worry is injuries (see Hylton for example) as the squad is small or Byrne leaving.

Play-off challengers, just like last year.

Well it was one of your fans that got the Thompson brothers mixed up for starters. Not sure where we have stated Jordan Williams will be first choice left back. The fact the chairman, manager and the backroom staff remain is a given tbh.

Apologies that the preview doesn't constantly update when signings have been made or the season has started.

Cheers for the feedback.

Poor Signings such as Ben Purkiss (Man of the Match Saturday) and Sam Foley... I'd say they aren't poor signings but meh average ones.

All a bit daft that.

Foley is a good footballer.

I was also well impressed with Purkiss on Saturday, although it will be fairer to judge him after a game against a side that can actually put an attack together, I wonder how he'll do against more pacey wingers too.

We won't be relying on Michael Brown much at all IMO, I can't see him getting too much game time this season, our midfield is decent enough and we are much stronger defensively.

We just need someone to stick it in the fucking goal now!
