Remember when EVERYONE thought that Orient would be up in the mix.

Thing is, we should be with our squad. On paper it's better than last seasons - minus Moses Odubajo. We have improved a bit with Cisak and Hedges coming into the side, but I don't know if we're going to be giving ourselves too much of a challenge. As Terminator says, we've got a budget that should be top 6, so it's kinda worrying how this season has gone. Not sure what would be more impressive, us getting relegated or the Swindon side a few years back. Either way, being presumptuous, I expect us to be at the top end of whatever division we're in next season after a decent clear out in the Summer, and I would imagine the mandate is promotion next season regardless.

I think its going to be a high amount of points to be safe this year as I see us, you, Crewe and Notts County all getting over 50 points.

I partly agree with this, which is why I'm not so confident of us staying up. I think Colchester and Yeovil have gone, and I'm not so sure Crawley have enough to get out of it. I think we need five wins out of our last 11 games to stay up which given our recent form is feasible. But I think Coventry can go on a similar run which means two of Crewe, Notts County, Scunthorpe and potentially Walsall will have to struggle to get 3 or 4 wins. I think 52 may be the benchmark to get to. As I say, I'm just not sure there's enough time to get out of it for us.

Seriously, if at the end of this there's 4 worse teams than us then may God have mercy on the souls of the fans of those 4 teams...you must be so very very bad.

It won't be a high target this year though - the idea that a couple of these terrible teams will easily reach 50 points is laughable, especially us and Crewe.

Yeovil, Colchester and Crawley won't reach it.

Leyton Orient are in decent form and have good players, have a good chance of reaching it. I believe we will reach it.

Crewe seem decent at home and only need 8 points to reach it, Walsall are nearly there an Scunthorpe should have enough to get over 50.

How about yourselves? your last post would suggest you don't think you can make it to 50.

I don't have a clue why, but when I made the post above I was thinking both us and Cov were in the relegation zone. I still think yourselves and Crewe will manage to hit 50, P.10 W.2 D.2 L.6 isn't great form, but still hits the half century.

Optimistic - we still have to play Coventry, Yeovil, Crawley, Scunthorpe and Walsall as well as Rochdale at home this Tuesday - so there's a glimmer of hope as our only results this season have come against bad teams (same as last season, we literally take no points from top 10 sides).

Yeovil and us are gone, without doubt. Very pissed off tonight.

Our game with them on Tuesday was going to be a really big one, but instead it's just a dead rubber to see who will finish bottom.

Bristol City's a write off on Tuesday Night as are most of our remaining away games, too reliant on our home form, if we suffer any blip at home we'll definitely be relegated.

I think we should get enough points to reach around 50 with our home form. The games vs Orient, Crawley and Walsall at home and Coventry away are MASSIVE.

24th Yeovil(35) - 33 points. Colchester(A), Rochdale(A), Chesterfield(H), Fleetwood(A), Notts C(H)

From the bottom, its looking really bleak for Yeovil. They lost their relegation six pointer with Orient, if they don't beat Colchester on Tuesday, then they might have to start facing up to life in League Two. Colchester also are in dire straits, they also need to win that game on Tuesday. Crawley picked up a vital win, but they will need to follow it up in the next few weeks. Orient are also showing consistent signs of life, I reckon they may well get out of trouble.

Coventry also picked up a huge win to keep themselves out of the bottom 4. They have some very tough games coming up, so this win was huge for them. We lost away, again! Our next 2 home games are probably must wins given our next 2 away games. Notts County continue to struggle at home and face some teams who are pretty stingy on their travels. They could get dragged into it in the next few weeks. Scunny got a decent home point but will probably need an away win from one of their next 3.

Colchester and Yeovil done, then 2 from 6? Looking like it.

Pretty pessimistic regarding Orient's chances of survival. Good result this weekend but, y'know, it was only Yeovil and they have to play Swindon, Sheffield United and MK Dons in their last 4 games.
Saying this I'm mos def doing an Orient game next season if they're in L2. They'll kill the league with that budget. Whatever it is.

Last chance saloon for Colchester and Yeovil tomorrow, loser goes down and if they draw they're pretty much down together.

From a Crewe fans perspective I feel as if we'll finish above the aforementioned two and Crawley. Just I think Orient and Coventry will hit a bit of form so it's imperative we outdo Walsall, Scunthorpe and Notts County in the form table. A win on Saturday for us will drag Oldham into the mix as well. We have 5 winnable home games and winning 3 of them will keep us up. We'll definitely stay up if we beat Orient and Crawley at home, a win at Coventry away would be nice too!

It's a good job we haven't lost at home to Crawley, Notts County and Crewe in recent weeks, or else we would be doomed.

Only Wigan have picked up fewer points at home this season than us out of the top four divisions, how depressing.

But with 12 home defeats out of 18, we are top of the league for home defeats this season!

The bottom 2 are gone in my opinion, Orient have the best chance of survival. Crewe's GD might do for them in the end.

Our game at Colchester tonight isn't so much a six pointer as a no pointer.

Didn't realise Notts County were so close to the drop, I thought they would grind their way into the top half pretty easily earlier in the season. Suppose there's not much in it from 5th to 20th though, really.

Exactly what I've said all season, only have to look at Barnsley to know that. 6 games ago they were right in this relegation battle and are now in the play offs, there isn't much difference in quality between 6th place and being down here.

That's what makes it so incredibly frustrating that we're going to drop this season. It's such fine margins and we could quite easily have ended up in a comfortable midtable position like Gillingham, Oldham, Rochdale etc, yet instead we're going into the fourth tier for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Admittedly we have become a bit of a shambles in recent weeks to make it look inevitable and deserved, but up until then we had genuinely been quite unlucky this season not to be higher. Of the past three seasons, I'd say this is the one we should be least likely to go down in, yet this is the year it will happen - really annoying.

I feared for you as soon as Sears was allowed to leave - don't see too much quality going forward at Colchester, but Sears was one who was good for a few goals.

An understandable view I guess. It is the last three games that have really killed us - losing at home to Notts County and Crawley, and away at Rochdale in between. I wanted us to keep in touch by the beginning of March as that's when the fixture list turned more favourable, we did that, and have then gone and lost them all. Otherwise we had 17 points from the 12/13 games before that which would have been enough to keep us up, but we have blown it.

Losing Freddie was a blow, but Massey, Watt, Healey and Bonne should be more than enough to sustain any threat Freddie gave us, whilst Chris Porter has been decent in the lone role. Unfortunately, Healey has been injured pretty much since Sears left, and Watt has vanished to train with the U21s.

15/16 points isn't unachievable, but the way we have folded in recent weeks makes it look completely out of reach. I think tonight's game with Yeovil is more a battle for the wooden spoon than to keep hopes alive. But then you just know Coventry will lose to Fleetwood and we could go within three points of safety tonight, with a trip to Coventry still to come and some optimism will creep back in. It's the hope that kills you, I guess.

Although I still believe the current bottom 4 will go, the one team who IMO have to be very very careful right now are Oldham, they're in serious danger of a proper season blowout if they don't appoint a manager.
