Our record when Hoolahan has played has been amazing and he’s a key part of the reason we’re top but I guess if you’ve only played 27 out of 43 games then you shouldn’t be included. Likewise Boateng shouldn’t be there for the same reason.

I’d argue over Mullin and Knoyle til the cows come home but can’t really put much of an argument up for the rest which I guess it testament to the team as a whole.

Laker, can't argue with Mullin's record and if it was only using stats I think a front two of him and Nichols would win out. Likewise, you would have to find a place for Exeter's Matt Jay in midfield but in the two games we played against you I was impressed with Ironside more than Mullin and to be honest I can't recall Matt Jay in our matches against Exeter (cue that he scored and set up everything).

The vagries of watching other teams for one or two matches a season.

Mullin will win League Two player of the year at a canter I would expect, he is running Popey (33 all comps 2012/13) for the highest scorer at this level in a long time, interestingly he has also had 120 shots which is miles ahead of anyone else.

Oddly if Vaughan had played as many games as Mullin he would be right on his coat tail if he kept his goal to game ratio.

Not sure Hoolahan couldnt be considered worthy of a place due to games either... hes only missed 12 games...

Jay Spearing will make the PFA eleven I would imagine. There can't be a better defensive midfielder at this level, or even a better midfielder period.

Of the opposition players I have seen, the following impressed:

Conor Wilkinson - Orient
Josh McPake - Harrogate
Boateng - Cambridge
Rodney - Port Vale
Matt Jay - Exeter
Scott Twine - Newport (now back at Swindon)
Dylan Bahamboula - Oldham
Elijah Adebayo - Walsall (now at Luton)

Not sure we can have anyone in it as our players only turned up for half a season. And plenty of our better players only signed in January. If it’s team of half a season it’s a different story :)

Hladky definitely, Tozer for the throw definitely. Wouldn’t disagree with Spearing. Has to be Mullin and Vaughan up front just on goal return. I know Vaughan’s been injured but he’s still second top scorer isn’t he?

Declan John is a championship player for me but he signed in January and was injured for several weeks at the start. He certainly won’t be playing for us next season if we don’t go up. Santos was crap in a 3 at the back but the whole team was. Other than Grimsby game he’s been phenomenal second half of the season. But not done it all season so can’t be in team of the season (I still wouldn’t swap him for any other cb in the league though).

In terms of honourable mentions for performances against us. Bahamboula looks a player when he can be bothered. That centre mid at Grimsby destroyed us last week but I’m guessing he hasn’t done that regularly enough considering the league position. One player who I really like the look of is Emmanuel Osadebe at Walsall from the games we played against them. Not sure how consistent he is though?

Hoolahan hasn’t missed that many games so I’d be surprised if he wasn’t included in team of the season.

Bit miffed that you missed out our player of the year last year, Sarcevic. Maybe you have him as Bolton’s non-playing captain?

Just shows you how clueless he is....picked the starting 11 that got beat of Grimsby
He may mock that team but it will finish the season with a higher win ratio than the lge 2 Champions.
Most have won 16 drawn 2 and lost 2 of 20 games since signing in January when we stood 17th

So yes they may well be the team of the season

Can’t argue with that list too much as far as performances against us are concerned. I would add a couple of the Crawley lads and Barrow’s Scott Quigley to that list.

assuming we stay up i think we might have to fend off a few offers for Quigley. Luckily he's still got 2 years on his contract.

He pretty much single handedley earned you a point against us .

A couple of other lads who’ve impressed me on highlight programs rather than against us are Morecambe’s Mendez-Gomez and as much as it pains me to say it Bolton’s Santos.

Hladky was stinking against us, though our lot can’t really have a say as many teams were allowed a free hit against us.

Can’t remember many standout individual performances from this season but a few stick out:

Mullin was good against us and you really can’t argue with his record this season.
James Brophy was very good so I guess his issue is consistency.
Chris Hussey was solid at both ends of the pitch, surprising considering previous performances I’ve seen of him.
Abo Eisa was it excellent against us though we were absolute cack that day.
Most surprisingly, Cole Stockton was fantastic against us on Tuesday and Derek Adams has obviously done a terrific job with him.

Thankfully we cannot bid on any Barrow players....20 better forwards this season than Quigley

Scouted by me years ago in the summer of 2017:
I'd have taken pretty much anyone over Scott Vernon though, including Cook. I liked Cook for us too, I'm not just arguing for the sake of it. And yeah, you can say it wasn't down to ability as to why he got dropped at Tranmere, but if he isn't at peak fitness and if he is letting his missed chances get to him then you've got two reasons that strengthen my argument surely? From the little bit of Stockton I saw last season, I'd have had him here over Cook for sure.

Where's Lady Vale?
Probably following NXT after her below Stewart Tomlinson AKA Hugo Knox the WWE wrestler (if hes still in it!) or hiring him out as his male escort persona Rupert Paddington Gomez!

Mullin and Hoolahan named in the shortlist for player of the season. Surprised Kieran Lee isn’t on the shortlist.
