Its take the piss out of Bolton night........how ironic a cretin from Grimsby is trying to take the piss when they have been relegated out of the league
You need to give your head a wobble !
I’m not the one who claimed my team had the best player in every position like a certain arrogant obnoxious moronic thick as fuck Bolton fan did.

There's still one too many Bolton players in the team of the year....

As for Michael Duff getting manager of the year, I think that speaks for itself really.

I guess it's difficult to be objective with stuff like this, we've been so damn mediocre for 6 years that I'm not used to dealing with Cambridge being in the conversation for these sort of things. But, trying to be somewhat objective, whilst Duff has certainly done a great job this year no question, bouncing back from playoff loss is not a given, but he started from a much higher base than Bonner and Adams though right? I'd have thought they'd be more in line for that spot.

Bang on with our 3 in the XI though, couldn't make a case for anyone else but these were slam dunks.

Edit: Not that it matters at all really. To be honest the less external accolade our manager gets the better as far as I'm concerned!

Good to see Kyle Knoyle in the team. Some of our fans were very arrogant when he chose to join Cambridge over us but he has been proved right. He can definitely go higher.

Pretty sure Morecambe were favourites to go down? So Adams should probably have won it for me.

We've been the best team in the league since the Jan additions, but none of them can get in based on it being <20 appearances.

Santos out POTY for me and he should be in if we were to have any 1 player in. Be surprised if Sarce makes our top 4. Santos, Gilks, Baptiste at least ahead I'd say.

Knoyle has been the best fullback in the league this season. Out of contract this summer but he has been liking tweets from fans on twitter asking him to sign the new deal.

That doesn’t mean anything mind but either way he won’t be in league two next season. Maybe he saw what was happening at Swindon but being a London boy I believe he wanted to move closer to home.

Yeah I agree with this. Taking my Cambridge hat off I would have to say Adams just about shades it followed by Bonner. Duff has had 2 or 3 seasons to get it right where Adams and Bonner have worked miracles in just one.

Yeah, in the media. Was pretty clear they'd upped their budget though. They've still overachieved, but it's not quite Little Morecambe this season.

Not suprised Worrall made it in, think he has the most assists in the league and always looks good on highlights and when I've watched him play this season.

Suprised Sarcevic made it as I thought he'd been injured alot and Tunnicliffe - Maybe Crawley fans have been keeping quiet about him all season..............
Tunnicliffe is rubbish. Don't look to him to repair a leaky defence. Oh no.

Now Josh Wright is the sort of midfielder you should be lining up. I reckon a cheeky £100k bid would get him with no trouble.

Yeah it's pretty tight between those 3 really - if Morecambe were in the top 3 I'd expect Adams to have won it, and between Duff and Bonner for me it just comes down to who wins the league. I assume they're also factoring the budget that Duff has had to work with (17th biggest apparently), but again I'm sure Morecambe's budget is smaller and I'm not sure where Cambridge are on the list.

Yep and Matt Green should be the forward they should be lining up to bang in all the chances served up to him by Josh Wright if they were playing in the same team.

THAT'S FUCKING SHITE

No Callum Guy who has the most assists? No Vaughan? Some fucking Crawley defender!?

What lazy c*** decided this?
Crawley defender - i guess that was north Cumbrian humour - even we scored 5 against them in 2 games (ok we conceded 6 but still....)

I know it's a joke and we teared their defence to pieces both times, I bet they only picked him because he scored against Leeds in the cup, probably the only time they've seen a L2 team play this season the fucking dickheads working from home only caring about the Premier league.

I personally wouldn't have chosen Tunnicliffe for the league 2 team of the season but he has had a good season and deserved to be in the discussion.

I've said all season our defensive issues are mainly to do with our midfield not following runners and leaving space. It's a bit awkward to be a defender when you have two midfielders running at you and the forward you're meant to be marking making a run off your shoulder. That's how Carlisle, Morecambe and a couple of others tore our defence to pieces.

Still, I don't really like these team of a season things.

Problem is he is currently injured and it is usually only those fit to play when awards are being handed out that are considered.

I just don't get how you can be on the 3 man shortlist for player of the year, but not make it into the team.

Jay is a quality player tbf, but Matt has arguably carried his side more.

I remember saying at the start of the season that I wasn't a fan of Matt despite him being decent for Newport. How good has he been then? Gonna have to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong by the sounds of it. He was shite for us other than saving us from relegation, in my defence.

Matt has fulfillled one specific role (of being in the right place to score goals, and generally doing so when required) for us superbly, and has been at least decent outside of that role. A real asset to the team (and I get the impression in terms of character - and mentorship to the younger lads - too)

Been a real leader, on and off the pitch. Done some coaching as well apparently.

On the pitch he's pretty much the only player we have capable of regularly sticking the ball in the net, a great focal point, occupies defenders, holds it up and linked a lot of our play in the final third. Left a big gap since he's been out. Not seen any better target men this season.

He went down in my estimation when he decided to disrespect the cardboard cutouts sat in the Pontoon. :dis:

Worrall is excellent and as good as any at this level with his assists and goals but oddly he wont win our player of the year, it will almost certainly go down to Tom Conlon who has been outstanding this season, 10 goals and 8 assists from midfield and running his own goal of the season competition, promoted to captain... hes been the main driving force and no surprise our horror results over Xmas particularly at Mansfield and at home to Barrow where when he was out with Covid.
