Stockport County.
Halifax stank the house down.
One or two whispers coming out of the Shay that Wild absolutely stunk the dressing room out pre match, proper nervous shit in the bogs type scenario which has got to the home dressing room. Can't have calmed any nerves.

Wild is a good manager who's got Halifax punching above their weight but he'll do nothing exciting if he goes to a Barrow or a Hartlepool or wherever he's linked. He's good at playing down expectations etc and getting teams better than the sum of the parts but when it comes to the real cojone stuff, he's nowhere near it. Can't see him having in him to really progress a Barrow or a Hartlepool but can see him having enough about him to keep them in the league quite comfortably etc.

Got to say if Wild can get what looked like nothing more than a bunch of Sunday league players even in promotion contention then it shows he’s a seriously good manager and Barrow or Hartlepool should really push the boat out.

All points to a Wrexham v Solihull final for my money.

I think he's off to Barra personally, certainly his side of the country and he rather surprisingly has a young family, despite being 86 years old.

i’m sure his young family can’t wait for the delights of barrow (not that i minded it - if seemingly had the longest wetherspoons in the world AND the toilets aren’t up 25,364 steps)

Is he as young as 86? I thought he was well over 100.

is he happy to go for the mystery option of solihull moors.

Don’t care if they’re tinpotters or not but I’m throwing my lot in with Solihull, real shame Notts had to be so soft. Can’t be any more tinpot than Salford or Harrogate.

This already feels non league, let’s not add to it. Although an away day in Birmingham is far more appealing than the other three granted.

The away day in Brum is the clincher for me. Beats the other three options by a mile.

Chesterfield isn't always bad depending how the plod treat you when you arrive! as they can be a bit OTT with away fans.

Have you seen where the ground is? You may as well have a day out in Dublin

You do not want to have a league game against Solihull Motors. Trust me on this.

Yeah, going via Birmingham isn't really an option for Solihull and IMO is alot more trouble than its worth. I have walked it to/from Solihull station and got the bus from the town, it isn't that bad but the location for a ground really is terrible - probably one of, if not the worst.

Solihull Moors is the friendliest football club I’ve ever visited. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. BUT it’s in the middle of nowhere with very poor public transport and other than the football club itself, has zero facilities . Makes Dover Athletic look like the San Siro.
As orrible as they are, Wrecsam, Grimsby, Chesterfield please.

Is it? Learn something new every day.

In any case no! Sticking with the Midlands solidarity.

Yeah, that and a few other towns that are towns and not cities.

I wonder if you’re a club that has town in it but then becomes a city whether you’d have to change your name?

"..Cambridge was formally granted city status in 1951. Both Cambridge Town and their neighbours Abbey United applied to change their name to Cambridge City. Cambridge Town's application was approved because it arrived first and therefore Abbey United changed their name to Cambridge United[1] ..."

I'm hoping Solihull Moors make it. I've seen Crawley play Solihull Borough and Moor Green but I can't recall playing the amalgamation.

It's a new team but some fond memories for me.
