Not all billionaire owners spend, ask Barnsley fansBillionaire owner eh? Seems Gillingham could go from one of the lowest spending clubs in the EFL to being a Premier League club very soon in that case. Much like Brighton, Brentford & Bournemouth.
Depends what his plans for the club are (if it’s true), still all just internet rumours at the momentBillionaire owner eh? Seems Gillingham could go from one of the lowest spending clubs in the EFL to being a Premier League club very soon in that case. Much like Brighton, Brentford & Bournemouth.
Even if he spends, £1 its more than scally in recent yearsNot all billionaire owners spend, ask Barnsley fans
That’s the total of Scally’s investment, he has done very well out of it though over the 27 years (and I’m no Scally basher).Even if he spends, £1 its more than scally in recent years
I'll always appreciate scally for saving our club and giving us the best times I've ever had supporting us but the time has come for him to go for the club sake and his own health which apparently is not good. That’s the total of Scally’s investment, he has done very well out of it though over the 27 years (and I’m no Scally basher).
It’s just the club finds itself back at square one after that initial quid.
It sounds a lot like John Ryan with us, his money could only take us so far, in the end he tarnished his reputation with us and it seems Scally has done the same with you, best thing is to separate the person who saved you from the one who left at the end because we all have faults and I’m sure just as JR had , Scally only wanted the best for Gillingham, they just get lost in their own ego’s and with social media the bile of utter numptiesI'll always appreciate scally for saving our club and giving us the best times I've ever had supporting us but the time has come for him to go for the club sake and his own health which apparently is not good.
The club has stagnated and under him we are only heading in one direction and that's into non league, time for a fresh approach it may not work with a new owner but we need to try it as a club.
Scally's biggest problem has always been, he's In the right all the time, it's his way or the high way, his ego has got to big and its caused problems with the fans, he can slag us fans off and think it's ok but goes running to the media when fans bite back ( not condoning the vile abuse he recieved some of it went way to far).It sounds a lot like John Ryan with us, his money could only take us so far, in the end he tarnished his reputation with us and it seems Scally has done the same with you, best thing is to separate the person who saved you from the one who left at the end because we all have faults and I’m sure just as JR had , Scally only wanted the best for Gillingham, they just get lost in their own ego’s and with social media the bile of utter numpties
This is just about the perfect summation of our situation. It sounds a lot like John Ryan with us, his money could only take us so far, in the end he tarnished his reputation with us and it seems Scally has done the same with you, best thing is to separate the person who saved you from the one who left at the end because we all have faults and I’m sure just as JR had , Scally only wanted the best for Gillingham, they just get lost in their own ego’s and with social media the bile of utter numpties
Our Yanky owners are over at the moment top of there agenda is to seal a permanent deal for DJ according to some.talks are already ongoing Flynn mentioned it last week 11 goals already so i see some competition for his signature coming from clubs who will offer silly wages.
Harris was asked about the rumours today and didn’t dismiss them, said he’d seen them himself but was a bit in the dark. Now rumoured to be very close
Yeah saw that, looking like to be truth in the rumours I don't want to get excited but finding it hard not toHarris was asked about the rumours today and didn’t dismiss them, said he’d seen them himself but was a bit in the dark.
He effectively now owns the ground as a prelude to finalising the deal to buy the club (I assume). More on the BBC link.Looks like the take over is very close as american businessman now owns priestfield stadium
Edit:
Not sure exactly if he owns the stadium, seems he has given the club a loan (probably as the takeover may go beyond the January transfer window),which according to kent online has given him the freehold to priestfield all confusing stuff

And Americans generally see it as an investment. Gillingham must have bags of potential. Not all billionaire owners spend, ask Barnsley fans
No alarms bells with me mate.So this Floridian property magnate now owns the football clubs biggest asset yet hasn't (yet) passed the fit and proper owners test etc? Any alarms with any Gills fans or is this all kosher? Do you have a Trust that is being kept closely involved in all this?
Everything’s tied up in NDA’s so the little information we can find is just what’s online. We do have a trust but they’re in the dark too. As The Last Waltz says, I’d be astonished if he was looking at a relatively small plot of land in a run down area and thinking he can make a fast buck by building luxury houses on it.So this Floridian property magnate now owns the football clubs biggest asset yet hasn't (yet) passed the fit and proper owners test etc? Was Scally as his name suggests? No alarms bells with me mate.
We don’t know if he has passed the fit and proper test yet as these things are never disclosed until the deal is completed, or at least they shouldn’t be.
As for him being a Tampa based property magnet, the properties he tends to deal with are multi million dollar properties in and around LA and Florida. I would be absolutely astonished if he woke up one day and thought to himself “Medway, that’s where it’s at. That’s where I am going to look for my next luxury project”.
Only time will tell I guess, but we need some sort of change now.
Article 3 says there are 600 million shares in the limited company. If anyone can tell me whatever on earth this means I’d be delighted. Ta.

Thanks mate, it may as well have been written in Chinese as far as I’m concerned.Article 3 says there are 600 million shares in the limited company.
The owners want to sell more shares and thus dilute the shareholding of existing shareholders, in order to do this then they have to delete Article 3.
Present owner owns 75% of shares but I think company law says that more than 75% of shareholders need to vote in favour of an article change.
Or Scully just wants some fool to buy some new shares but keeps majority of shares himself. Thanks mate, it may as well have been written in Chinese as far as I’m concerned.
So that would seem to suggest a change of ownership is imminent?
