From a selfish perspective I have to say Sutton or Borehamwood although would be good to see Tranmere back in the league - some great memories of play off battles with Tranmere back in 1993.

Tranmere for me please, got a couple of mates who support them; both heavily into Belgian beers. Plus it's just up the road from Shropshire, my current abode.

It will be fun to have Tranmere back in League 2 just to listen to Tranmerewhite every week telling us how hard done to Tranmere have been in every game they don't win, and the ones they do win they should have won by a cricket score etc.... :ohy:

Been quite a demise after making the Championship after years of play off failures in league one to be facing league two again. Seems the novelty of it all has worn off.
I can understand the younger generation of MK fans, who probably don't even know the real history of their club but it's the older MK fans I just don't understand.

I went in 2007 when they played at the hockey stadium and in the pub before the game there was a 40 something stood there in his replica shirt with DONS 4 LIFE on the back. Who did this bloke support before? Maybe he didn't follow football before this team just landed on his doorstep. Surely your team is for life, you can't change it can you?

Would love for them to go down this season and for the real Dons to stay up. Horrible franchise scum.

MK look down and out, shite awayday but I suppose we'll have to take them.

2 from Northampton, Rochdale, Walsall, Oldham and Wimbledon realistically. All bar Wimbledon are incredibly uninspiring awaydays (Kingston Riverside is a real nice place for a few) but I'd prefer them to stay up. I have a soft spot for Rochdale too, a club who play nice football and punch above their weight and I hope they survive. I think Oldham deserve relegation after their shitshow of a last 10 years and Walsall wouldn't be a significant threat at this level (least not with Jon Guthrie in defence, lol) if they went down compared to Northampton so I'd rather those two dropped. Funnily enough, I believe Northampton have to face Walsall and Oldham in their last two games, so they could really cause some problems for the sides above them if they were to win those.

As for the Conference, Tranmere up please as Wrexham are bottlejobs. Won't mind Aldershot going up either, just no more tinpotters in the league! (Especially not Fylde as there are far too many small Lancashire clubs in the league as it is and Boreham Wood and their strange Chairman)

What, 3? Accrington, Fleetwood and Morecambe? Hardly an excessive amount. I'm open to Fylde coming up, they play a good brand of football from what I can see, not just another thug team like so many that come up from the conference. The ground is surprisingly easy to get to via train, which helps massively and the away end looks decent. It'll annoy the purists and the piss heads, but after going to the shithole that is Kenilworth Road, give me an away end like Fylde's over a fleapit shack of a stand with pillars everywhere any day.

Fylde and Fleetwood are only in prominence because of the Oystons. I've no beef with Accrington or Morecambe in the league as they worked very hard to get here, but my Christ I can't be dealing with a Football League awayday to Junction 3 of the M55. Kirkham is probably one of the most non-descript tiny towns imaginable. With us staying in the league, we've lost nearly all our historic Cheshire neighbours (thankfully Macclesfield are back) and Wrexham too and in their place, we have a couple of trips to Lancashire a year (and with absolutely no rivalry potential whatsoever with said clubs either). So Fylde are one of the last clubs I'd want in this league.

Tranmere or Aldershot all day long over David Haythornthwaite's vanity project that's for sure. Wouldn't begrudge a prominent non league club like Sutton either. Face it, the more of these bankrolled vanity projects that come into the league, the harder it is for the traditional league clubs who have to cut their cloth accordingly to survive. And I want the option where it's easier for us to survive each time.

Most of the older lot either took kids, or just came because it was affordable football and stayed. I know lots that are ex Wimbledon FC fans, lots that didn't really get into football until it was on the doorstep and a number of London exiles that have just fallen out with the premier league and have grown to love the family of MK Dons. Most still have their first 'love' but because it's cheaper they've grown to love and follow MK too.

I can't believe that Dean Lewington is still playing for MK. I thought he'd have retired by now - must be mid-30's?

Turns 34 next month. Still a club legend even if he can't manage a whole season anymore and part of the reason Robbie Neilson got sacked.
He gets a lot of stick from our fans for being past it and has done for years, but somehow he was statistically our best player in the Championship.

To steal VP's opening post and then Shoddy's list of possibilities, we now have 16 confirmed sides:

Bury
Cambridge United
Carlisle United
Cheltenham Town
Colchester United
Crawley Town
Crewe Alexandra
Forest Green Rovers
Grimsby Town
Macclesfield Town
Milton Keynes Dons
Newport County
Port Vale
Stevenage
Swindon Town
Yeovil Town

Possibles to join League Two next season are:

Relegated from League One (two from)
Rochdale
Oldham Athletic
Walsall
AFC Wimbledon
Northampton Town(who we know are all but down)

Failing to get promoted (four from)
Mansfield Town
Coventry City
Lincoln City
Notts County
Exeter City

Avoiding relegation (one from)
Morecambe
Barnet

Promoted via National League playoffs (one from)
Tranmere Rovers
Sutton United
Aldershot Town
Boreham Wood
AFC Fylde
Ebbsfleet United

We'll see the list slim down in midweek. Walsall and Wimbledon could confirm their spots in League One with draws in midweek. Then the first round of the National League play offs begin with Aldershot v Ebbsfleet on Wednesday and Boreham Wood v AFC Fylde on Thursday.

Notice that Tranny have suddenly lost 2 on the bounce. I realise the automatic had gone, but doesn't bode well for the play-offs.

Resting players?
Don't know much about them but i know of Cook and Norwood and they both started. Might just be case of taking foot of the gas but momentum can count for a lot. They blew it last year against FGR.

Not sure about on Saturday but against Solihull on Tuesday they had a really weakened team out, some players their fans had never even heard of.

Anyone who's had David Holdsworth as manager will also have experienced that.

Well ebbsfleet beat aldershot on penalties tonight in the first leg of the conference playoff circus.

Next up, the elephant is away at the giraffe.

* it’s boreham wood vs fylde. Those 2 well known footballing giants going head to head.

According to BBC Sport Aldershot were 3-1 up after 3 pens too and still managed to lose, now that’s gotta hurt.

Caught it after the Liverpool game. Was a crazy shoot out! Aldershot totally blew it, missing their last two and then the keeper missing in sudden death.

Ebbsfleet seemed littered with ex FL players, Kedwell, Weston, Rendell and that useless waste of space Lawrie Wilson. Their keeper is an absolute beast too! Like a keeping Akinfenwa!

Good 'keeper, the Ebbsfleet guy. They've had quite a few FL offers for him.

We came up through the play offs after losing our last three matches without scoring. We also lost the first leg of the play off semi without scoring too.

Momentum is over rated in the play offs.

We lost our last four regular league matches, and the play-off semi final first leg without scoring a single goal in 13/14. Momentum is overrated

To update the list again heading into the weekend. We're still at 16 confirmed. But the possibilities to join have slimmed down.

Bury
Cambridge United
Carlisle United
Cheltenham Town
Colchester United
Crawley Town
Crewe Alexandra
Forest Green Rovers
Grimsby Town
Macclesfield Town
Milton Keynes Dons
Newport County
Port Vale
Stevenage
Swindon Town
Yeovil Town

Morecambe
Barnet

Promoted via National League playoffs (one from)
Tranmere Rovers
Sutton United
Boreham Wood
Ebbsfleet United

Wimbledon and Walsall confirmed their spots in League One with draws on Tuesday. So it's a toss up between Rochdale and Oldham for the last team down from League One.

We also saw Aldershot and Fylde drop out of the Conference play offs. So, it's between Tranmere(for the traditionalists/purists/anyone based in the North West) and 3 south east/London based teams.
