Well certain players seem to be enjoying their football but others don't seem to care. Will be interesting to see how we set up tomorrow, we played 5 at the back last week with only one actual CM playing but I can't see that working at a team that will attack us.

We pack the midfield in a 4-3-3 system with a winger at left back and one at right back so teams generally do better if they sit back hence we've drawn a lot against sides bottom half but beaten all the top sides at home. Generally if you pack the midfield and don't attack us we can struggle to break teams down.

Is it really that bad? I'm probably 30 miles from Mansfield and its not overly bad here.

Northampton are the visitors to the Lincolnshire Riviera on Saturday. Expect Dolphins in the Humber estury and a handsome home win.

3-1 Please.

What's the likelihood of a postponement before I start my trek to Cleethorpes at 0630hrs tomorrow?

I’d be surprised if it’s off but guess what it does over night. If the weather forecast for tomorrow afternoon was bad and it was 50/50 I reckon it would be off but the forecast tomorrow is better just windy which should also help. We’ve also got covers down the side of the pitch down the west stand where the pitch struggles. It’s also pretty expensive to call a game off so it will be within everyone’s interest to get it on

Either way I’ll be on the road at 7 and only just back in Mansfield by 10, so a pub day if it’s off.

Nice early start tomorrow with a view of those rocks on the way to Exeter - hopefully to continue our unbeaten run at SJP - its going to be a difficult one as we don't know what actual Crawley side will turn up - the hard to beat and nick it, or the roll over and let them have the points by half time. Just hope that the weather doesn't spoil a good game.

Forever hopeful of only our second away win of the season with a 2-1 victory -

Shit the bed - I didn't expect us to beat Col U today.

For a lot of today we were 3rd. This run has been outstanding.

Disappointing to once again concede a last minute equaliser in a game we should really have won. That said up to seventh now and that is way more than could have hoped for at the start of the season.

Massive frustration at Vale Park. Weird game in neither keeper barely made a save but we should of seen that out. 29 points dropped now I read. Four leads thrown away in two games and our inability to beat the lower sides is getting silly now.

The equaliser was an absolute shocker to concede too! Brown should come and get that.

Into the top 7 but could be costly come April. Guess it’s a sign of how far we’ve come that we’ve got into the play off spots again and are thoroughly pissed off!

I haven't seen it, but Brown not claiming a cross in the last minute is not something I recall.

I've always maintained he was dodgy with crosses for 85 mins, but in the last 5 plus injury time he claimed bloody everything.

It’s very uncharacteristic of him. Just so happens when a keeper makes an error in judgement it’s normally more costly than from others on the pitch. Best keeper we’ve had since Mark Goodlad so can forgive him easily enough.

We do really need to be more smart as a team in how we see games out though. It’s happened far too many times this season to be a coincidence.

Horrible game between two poor sides on the day, neither keeper did anything but pick the ball out the net. Feel like there were so many stray balls today, neither team could really ever get anything going. Will be interesting to see Vale's first goal as it looked offside but would have to see it again.

Very poor performance from us today. We were average first half, had enough chances to be 2 or 3 ahead, but Morecambe also had their looks. 2nd half, we get an early opener and instead of kicking on, we went to shit. Missed a few chances to get a 2nd and kill it, then Will Jaaskelainen adds to his growing list of errors by coming out for a cross, colliding with Nottingham and allowing Wildig an open goal to score.

We then had more great chances, but blew them all and after that we faded and had to settle for a point.

Their red card was ridiculous, we were on a break and their lad snaps Ng in half. Late, reckless, probably a red.

All in all, 2 points dropped in probably the last favourable away game we've got. Got to go to places like Exeter, Colchester, Port Vale and Bradford and get results now. Need way more out of a lot of them, they were not good today.

We just didn’t get going second half, was weird but we seemed to be so in control without threatening so to concede was out the blue, luckily we got back in front and that seemed that but as we’ve seen a few times now our game management is the reason we are not higher up the league.

Cullen is well onside as one of your defenders was almost on the touch line. The second one which was ruled out id need to see again though.

I'm starting to believe... Playoffs has to be seen as absolute minimum for us now, with the top 3 in touching distance. Cracking performance today, withstood 30 minutes of pressure until Colchester ran out of ideas and controlled the game from then on.

Huge game against Vale next week, I wonder if Tom Pope will get his customary hattrick against us. Was hoping he'd get sent off today :shut:

We controlled the first 40 minutes against Cheltenham today and spent the first half camped in their half, but were hit on the break against the run of play with a tight offside call and that was pretty much game over as we could have played all week and not scored. You can tell they've got the best defensive record and it was the perfect away performance, they played the second half out comfortably.

Tom pope will only be on the bench for us and it's a comfortable home win for you as our defence is wank.

Our defence is shite cost us wins too often this season will late goals being let in. I think our poor goal difference and wank defence will cost us promotion and we will never beat scunthorpe there a proper bogey team for us and I bet we arnt a bogey team for anyone. Today's result has halved our away following at Cheltenham next week.

A tremendous day
in the club’s history

We are now within touching distance of safety.
A monumental achievement by Chris Beech. Taking over what was a massively unfit, clueless bunch of players due to the months of bad coaching they’d received and turning them with a few January additions into something resembling a football team that is hard to beat.

Make no mistake about it, the team Chris Beech took over in November may not have been rock bottom, but had been getting worse and worse by the week and at the time was the worst team in the football league. We would have been god knows how many points adrift by now had the changes not been made when they were. Pressley was making players worse by the week. Someone had to change that.

So well done to Chris Beech. I wasn’t keen on giving such a tough job to a managerial novice, but he’s proved his worth by getting us into this position where we’re almost safe, so fair fucks to him. A thousand times better than that clown Steven Pressley.

Doubt it will change anything regarding Cheltenham, we could of won and not been in the top 7 had Colchester won so the overall situation is ok.

I would play Pope as Cullen isn’t as effective away and he did the business there in the cup.

Win that then a customary flat 1-1 against Crawley based on our season so far!

We've won 2 of our last 16 games at Vale Park, I don't think we're a bogey team.

Montano out clark in is the only change I'd make. We cant really take Cullen out as he is scoring goals even though he has been ineffective away. Us and Cheltenham dont lose many games so a draw seems likely but I'm expecting a loss which if it happens will hopefully only be by the odd goal. Only take a draw for colchester to go above us due to our poor goal difference. We kept more clean sheets and let less goals in last season when we finished 20th.

We have beat you once in 34 years so yes you are a bogey team
We've barely played in that time surprisingly, you spent a lot of the time above us. Our overall record is 15 wins for Port Vale, 16 draws, 14 wins for Scunny, very even with Vale just edging it.

If anyone cares I went and got my haircut today.

At least the game was called off early, always a shame when your game goes.
